First let me say I waited to post this after giving Comfort Air & Mechanical the day to respond to me. If I could give them zero stars I would!! Here is the review, Comfort Air &Mechanical was contracted through my home warranty to repair my geothermal air and heating unit. The technician was first dispatched in April of 2024. He first came out and added Freon to the unit, it was not working the next day at which time they dispatched him again and he said we needed a new AC unit. The unit was ordered and installed. I paid them in full for my portion. It leaked water right after the install. We contacted Comfort Air about the leak, they sent out the same technician. He attempted to repair the leak, it leaked again, we contacted Comfort Air and they sent out same technician and it leaked again, this repetitively occurred. He came out last on Friday July 12, and once again said he repaired the leak, it had a leak the next day. The technician was contacted and said he would put us on the schedule. Monday July 15 we received a text that a technician would be out Wednesday July 17. On Tuesday July 16 we woke up to the back of our home flooded from the pipe that was now pouring out water. Two rooms of carpet and the hallway flooring in addition to some furniture and electronics that also got saturated by water. I immediately contacted Comfort Air at 7:30 am, after getting no response I called. Jamie said she would reach out to management. I sent photos and videos of the leaking and water in my home. At about 12:30 after I persisted in calling and texting I was told that management was contacted and they couldn't send someone out until tomorrow. So apparently someone's home flooding due to their technicians inability to appropriately pipe the unit was not important enough to send someone out immediately. I also asked for management or the owner to call me. I was told by Jamie that she would relay the message. I received no phone call. It is beyond poor business to not take responsibility for your inability to fix someone's AC and to further cause damage that will no doubt be costly to repair. As you are reading through the positive reviews, take note that reviews similar to mine do not receive replies from the company, so they pick and choose who to respond to.
Terrible service. Multiple service calls ignored. Technicians are not professional. The worst part is there actual work quality.. I have multiple new units installed by them that continuously fail time and time again. Just to call there office and be paraded around the office on speaker phone for all to laugh. Their service calls take days and their technicians leave wires and broken parts scattered throughout the units. They're always late they lose keys and they're recharges aren't anywhere near the pounds of refrigerant they say they are.. Worst company in this area for sure. Spend your money elsewhere. -Lead Maintenance IDP Properties
My Warranty Company contacted this company on August 19, I was given an appointment date and time only to be told (after I called because they didn't call me) that the AC guy called out sick and I would have to be rescheduled, the next day I called to make sure the AC guy was coming out and I was put on hold because she couldn't find our address or appointment; when she comes back she asks me if I'm home I told her no and I would need an hour lead time to get there, she told me he was going to meet me in an hour , so I left my office on the westbak to head back to Metairie and halfway there she calls back to inform me she made an error and I wasn't scheduled that day, it would have to be the next day (mind you, we are in the middle of August, in Louisiana and the temperatures have been around 89 inside the condo everyday this has been going on for almost 2 weeks). She apoligizes and said there was an error in the scheduling but they can't make it until Thursday August 26th and she keeps stressing to ""make sure you have the payment for the AC guy when he gets there"".. When the AC guy was there Comfort Air calls me back to tell me that the issue was that the AC needed blowing out and ""of course"" that isn't covered by the warranty and would HAVE to be paid before the AC guy leaves at the tune of $234.00.
I would never reccomend this company to anyone as there was not one person that would take responsibily for the continous errors, just telling me ""I'm sorry"" isn't helping to resolve anything.
I do not recommend having your AC's worked on by Comfort Air in Hammond, LA. They were hired to fix both of my AC units (upstairs and downstairs, separately) by my home warranty company. The individual technicians were both very nice men who worked for HOURS on our AC units both times; however on both occasions, they were called to fix a condensation leak in the unit; and when they left BOTH TIMES the entire unit was no longer cooling AKA still leaking, not cooling, and jobs left incomplete. Being AC-less in the summer in Louisiana is a real drag, and then waiting for Comfort Air to sort out all the issues between themselves and our home warranty company meant weeks without one of our AC units working. Both times, a follow-up appointment had to be made by a different AC company to fix the mess that Comfort Air left us in. Unfixed AC's aside, while fixing the upstairs AC unit, they got black soldering dust on every surface within 10 feet near the unit and it was left that way. While fixing the downstairs unit, the technician walked through my house with some kind of putty/caulk/thick grey substance all over his shoes and it now seems to be a permanent fixture in my rugs and on my front porch. Y'all have some work to do, Comfort Air. :(
I do not recommend this company. Poor workmanship and do not stand behind their work. Had an AC installed December 10th. Yesterday (May 5th) I was in the attic and noticed cold air blowing on me coming from the air handler. I noticed that where Comfort Air connected my air handler to the supply plenum was separated on one side from what they had holding it together, which was a few layers of foil tape. When I called to ask if they could come back to repair it, first they tried to convince me that their install wasn't part of the problem (it obviously was) and then was told that their labor warranty was only 30 days and I would need to pay them a service call to even come out and look at it. Not expecting their own work (that costs thousands of dollars) to last more than 30 days should tell you something. Apparently 5 months is too long to expect their work to hold up and for all I know it could have been like this since the day after they installed it since I never go in my attic. See the pictures and ask yourself if you would want them touching your unit.
If I could give a lesser star I would. They were contracted by my home warranty. They came out yesterday morning to look at my a/c which wasn't cooling and temp in the house up to 88 deg. They came out in the morning, did their assessment and were supposed to submit a report to my HW. Well, here we are 36 hours later and they still haven't submitted. I called them 7 times today and they only answered the phone twice and still no answer or resolution. Horrible communication and follow up.
I had a great experience with this company. Once the appointment was set and a diagnosis was made, they came in and got my A/C working great. The tech went above and beyond! He did not leave until he made sure the A/C was working properly and they called to check on me twice when they left. I would definitely recommend this company. The customer service was great, overall, I am very pleased.
The absolute worst company. NEVER use them!!! They can't keep appointment times, lie about trying to contact you and worst customer service. They had me waiting 8 hours while my ac was broken in a house that was 85 degrees. They kept changing my appointment time, day of. Customer service is not helpful at all when issues arise that they caused.
