We had a great experience with Colvin Electric and can't speak highly enough of Ivan Torres. He was friendly, professional, and very communicative and responsive throughout the service process.

My husband and I initially called Colvin Electric because we'd lost power to one room in our house. My husband has done basic wiring and thought he would fix it himself, but it turned out to be more complicated than he'd expected. Colvin came to diagnose that problem and we also asked them replace our old Federal Pacific breaker panel. They gave us a quote (which was much better than quotes we received from other places) and we scheduled a time for them to come back and do the work. They do seem to be pretty busy, because we had to wait a couple weeks, but we are glad we did. (It seems that most electricians are really busy during this COVID season when so many people are doing home repairs and remodels!)

They replaced the panel and had to test all of the breaker switches to identify them and label them. They were very professional and considerate as they worked through each room in our house, testing outlets and flipping switches. Due to an unforeseen circumstance with the city, the inspector wasn't able to come and sign off on the work, so they had to stay very late and get a temporary approval so that our electricity could be turned on. We appreciated their professionalism, the fact that they were able to find a temporary solution, and that they were committed to staying until everything was taken care of. Due to that situation with the city inspector, they did not have time to fix the electricity in the room we had initially called about! But they got us back on the schedule for the next week and were able to take care of the problem in about 30 minutes! It turns out that the problem started with a neutral on the outlet behind our fridge, which is in a completely separate room than the one that lost power. We were impressed with how quickly and simply they identified and resolved the issue.

They did a great job on replacing the breaker panel and repairing the electricity in the previously dark room! We will not hesitate to call Colvin Electric ANY TIME we need electrical work done.

This company does it right! From my first interaction (a request for a quote through Yelp) to my last follow up email, Colvin Electric was super responsive, professional, thorough and friendly. Their price was fair, the work was perfect and the effort they put in to protecting your home and family was so respectful- booties that they took off and put on EVERY TIME they go in and out, masks at all times and a perfectly clean worksite upon completion.
A huge plus for me was the fact that they communicated so well. All appointments were confirmed in a 3 hour window via text and the day of you get a text saying which technician is on the way, as well as a picture and bio for the person who will be in your home! It made me feel so safe.
I cannot say enough how friendly and professional Michael and Ivan were.

Would HIGHLY recommend Colvin Electric to any and all family, friends and business associates.

I had an appointment with Colvin Electric to have a chandelier and ceiling fan installed in my home. The appointment was scheduled about a week in advance for a Friday morning. The manager called me the Wednesday afternoon before asking if I would mind rescheduling to the following Monday, as they had an urgent job come up where someone's AC had gone out. I said I would, and asked if he could come in the morning because I had an appointment in the early evening. He was not able to give me a morning time, but was confident after looking at Monday's schedule that they would be able to be there between 2 & 3 PM. I said ok, but let him know that if it was later that 4 it was not going to work. He said he understood and thanked me for being accommodating and understanding. By 3:15 PM on the day of my appointment no one showed. I called and left a voicemail asking for an updated ETA. No return call. At 4 I called again left a second message and at 4:30. I also sent 2 texts. Good luck getting ANYONE to pick up the phone there, or respond. Absolutely NO response. I missed my appointment and subsequently left my house at 5:45 PM. 10 minutes later an electrician called me to say he was at my house but there was no answer. Seriously? I gave him the background and told him I could not reach anyone at his company and would not be using Colvin for this work or any other and please let the manager know. The next day I get a text saying 'we hope you were happy with your service...' What a disconnect. I never got any response from Colvin. Obviously they do not need your business. Very unprofessional!!

Currently, we have purchased a hottub and based on reviews that I have read Colvin Electric was recommended. I firmly believe that workmanship, communication, and respect from both parties are placed above cost. So I called and booked an appointment; initially there earliest appointment was on Wednesday(I'm calling on a Monday). I thought no big deal because I was excited to get this project done. After I wrapped up work projects on Monday I decided to call back just to see if he had any cancellations.... and they did; Tuesday between 2-5 and my kids were excited because it is almost time to enjoy the new purchase.

Tuesday rolls around.... Colvin communicated with me during the day and informed me that Francisco would be showing up at 2pm. Colvin sent me his photo and a little bio which I was extremely impressed with. He was on time at 2pm; wearing COVID precautions which I appreciated and was extremely friendly to my wife and I. We showed him around and walked him back to where we wearing needing it hooked up and he was extremely grateful. He informed us about the additional service plans they offer and surge protection options, which was not expected but it made us consider purchasing. He told us that he would work up an estimate including the additional 120v outlet we were wanting as well. He walked into our backyard multiple times taking measurements and at 3:50 he came back with our estimate. While it was a little higher than I thought we really liked him and appreciated his communication and attention to detail. He told us that he would contact his manager and let us know when they would be back out because they would need to trench an area to ensure it was up to code. Of course we were not expecting the work to be done today but hoping it would be done over the next two days. He came back after and told us that they would be out first thing in the morning on Wednesday(next day)at 9am. My kids were excited, we signed for the work, and also accepted the monthly maintenance plan(can't complain saved us 10%) and he left.

Fast forward.... 20 minutes later... we receive a call from the Colvin office. A rep informed us that they can't be out here till Friday because of his schedule. I said ""I'm sorry I am a little confused, he just left and told me tomorrow."" I don't know what happened over 20 minutes but ok. This is a little perturbing since I signed knowing he would be here tomorrow but ok. I called back 4 minutes after and asked if there was a waiting list. She said if 2-4 jobs are cancelled then they can move me up.

Friday has arrived and David and Francisco were prompt and on time. I received information on the addition resource(David) needed for my job and couldn't have been more impressed. These guys worked all day and my kids continually brought gatorades and waters out because it was so hot. They were extremely friendly and let me know throughout the day how the progress was coming. They additionally took care of the recent yard work we had done basically making it look like the new electric work was done after. What can I say about Colvin Eectric: outstanding work, outstanding employees, and they treat you like family. Don't go anywhere else.

Great job Colvin!!! From your office staff who promptly responded to my initial request to the professionalism of the electrician that came to do the work. The office immediately called to set up the initial appointment and was very friendly and helpful. Then Ivan showed up early (which he called to confirm if this was ok) I explained what I needed and then he quickly worked up several pricing options for me to chose from. He was careful to explain each option. Then proceeded to do the work and was very respectful of my home.
I work in construction so I was cautious and a bit skeptical but all of that faded quickly. I am very happy with the work they did and the fact that they are right in my area made me more confident. I would gladly recommend them for your electrical needs. Don't hesitate to give them a call.

We woke up to learn all of the power to our office was completely out impacting our internet and wine fridge. Needless to say, we were eager to resolve the issue. I found Colvin Electric online and was lucky enough to get a same day appt (they had had a cancellation). First, I love that they text you when they're en route and provide a picture and qualification summary of the technician assigned to you. Awesome feature.

Our first technician Hayward was timely, professional and honest. He checked all the outlets in the office and said the outlet behind the wine fridge was likely the culprit but he couldn't access it as the fridge had been professionally installed. Our next appointment I timed to have the refrigerator repair man and the electrician there at the same time. That's not easy to do with lengthy arrival windows but Michael Galvez (Haywards manager) could not have been more accommodating or helpful. Candidly, the fridge repairman was extremely difficult to work with and Michael went above and beyond to help me manage an unnecessarily taxing situation. Michael was friendly, extremely knowledgeable in his trade, patient, and determined to get the job done right - which is exactly what he did. I honestly could not have been more thankful for him as a person and electrician that day. Bottom line, you get what you pay for with this company and I'll be calling them for any future electrical work we require. MANY thanks again to Michael, Hayward and the whole Colvin Electric team.
