I'd give them a zero if I could. This company cares nothing about the people that they service and unfortunately running Monopoly where you have no choice but to be with them. They won't take payment arrangements if your a laysman who's late on your bill or behind and have no problem disconnecting your energy BUT WILL WORK WITH HOTELS, CORPORATIONS AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS WHO OWE THEM THOUSANDS of dollars, just wanted to bleed the poor person. VERY DISGUSTED with this company WISH I DIDN'T HAVE TO use them. Makes me want to turn my house into solar panels to not have to give none of those greedy people my money. I wonder how they sleep at night with such poor conscience. If you have a choice DO NOT . I repeat DO NOT CHOOSE COBB EMC.

Not to many people pay bills in person , with all the online services that's always seem to be available. So it's very refreshing to get person to person interaction. The staff is so helpful , my teller name was Tim and immediately greeted me with a smile and help me with the issues I had swiftly.

My husband and I tried to report a street light out on our street and we're meet with rudeness and hostility. The rep tried to ask for our social security number to ""check our account is in good standing."" Why a personal account has anything to do with a street light we don't own, I don't know. When my husband refused to give his ssn over the phone, the rep rudely stated that the street lamp outage had already been reported. (so why ask for the account number in the first place)
Also, it's over two weeks later and the the street light is still out.
Poor customer service all around. Our next house will not be in Cobb emc territory.

This company is dumber than you may think. They're atrocious and will take out bills via electronically and lie to say you're enrolled in their autopay. They take out for one month and decides not to take out the following months. I have never heard of needing to pay for late payments or being late on payment when an account is setup on an autopay system. So I went and paid everything on full to be caught up and they took the amount out of my bank and decides to send out a termination letter saying there's funds that are not paid. How is that possible when I paid in full? Then I try to login electronically and I think they have deleted my account. This is the first ever being late on payments and it's supposedly be setup on an auto payment method or system. Why do you guys take money out but don't want to acknowledge that the account is upto date? They just want that extra cash because Cobb County is in a debt crisis thanks to the Braves so they want to screw the tax payers. Thanks very much Cobb EMC (not really)

They are HORRIBLE. If you need them in a crisis they cannot stand up. I've been without power for over a day and still no power. I'm going to have to throw all my food away as soon as I wake up.
They are horrible at communication unless it's to give bs canned responses. I've lived in Georgia for 20 years and pointed in a couple of cities in NC and traveled for my job and I've NEVER experienced anything like this.

Been using Cobb EMC for about 10 years now.
I've called customers service once to get them to remove a late fee from when I switched cards and forgot to update my account. Billing issue was resolved within my next billing cycle.
Zero service issues other than the rare blackouts during severe storms. Maybe once or twice a year. Outages usually don't last more than 20 minutes.
I pay my bill through their website using the auto pay on my credit card, to maximize my cash-back on my card (you are going to pay the bill anyways so what not get some bonus back on your own credit card?!)
My usage is fairly low in a medium sized split-level home, usually around $120 during the hottest month and $130 on the coldest. I average 70 bucks a month in electric bills through the year. We run anew electrical Heat Pump system. Hot water heater is still a dinosaur at 20 years old but still works off electric as well, we keep the ambient temp 10 degrees cooler than most people and also have wrapped the tank with aluminum radiant insulation sheets. All our lights are LED bulbs.
If you spend a day just going around energy proofing your house, it impacts your bill significantly. Lights use up around 30% of your energy costs so just changing the bulbs is a good start! If you'd like any tips or other money saving ideas let me know... I'm a sucker for keeping all my hard earned dollars and so should you : )

I was told on the phone by a customer rep that I had to come in a sign for my service which I was fine with. Then after asking off work to go start my service I was told I couldn't start it because the pervious person didn't pay the due amount. WHY I AM RESPONISBLE FOR THAT?!?!? THAT BULLSHIT!

Setup e-bill the e-bill never arrived and was accessed a late charge. Cancelled the e-bill and went manual. This month the e-bill I cancelled went into effect. Unfortunately, I had manually scheduled a payment, so I paid double. Now I have to wait 10 days before I can ask for the money back.

This place is despicable. I was set-up on e-billing, told by a rep that I was a liar and once she looked into it confirmed what I said.
Didn't properly bill me and again said it was my fault as a customer to make sure they did THEIR job.
This place is a disgrace.
It disgusts me to have to speak to anyone that works there. FIND ANOTHER JOB IF YOU HATE WHAT YOU DO.

This is the worst company to deal with. I feel they know that we have no choice but to use their services witch is why we are treated as crap! I hate doing business with COBB EMC. I hate that we have to give our hard earned money to such a disrespectful company, whose workers are RUDE AND CANTANKEROUS. James the ""manager"" doesn't care what you say. All he wants to do is set you up for arrangements that you aren't able to keep. This way they can disconnect your services and charge you all these fees to reconnect.
Cobb County needs to offer the people more choices in their electric services! This is a POOR company to have service with. They would have zero stars from me however the system makes you do at least one in order to write a review. But Please know they don't even deserve the 1 STAR! COBB EMC IS AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!
Please think twice if you're moving and have to use this service.
