Gary Craft started his career in the HVAC and electrical fields during the mid-1980s. He took a brief hiatus in the early 1990s to explore a role in industrial maintenance. In 1995, he launched his dream of owning a business with Filters Unlimited, a small office maintenance and filter replacement venture. By 1997, he dedicated himself to full-time self-employment, evolving his part-time filter service into a comprehensive heating, air conditioning, and electrical company. He formed Craft Companies LLC in 2014 with his wife, Sharon. The company underwent its most recent transformation in 2018 when Gary, Sharon, and their two sons rebranded from Gary Craft Heating and Air to Climate Crafters.
