Had an issue with a loose plug somewhere in the house causing no power in living room, dining room, kitchen & outdoors.
Matt with Chico Electric showed up on time and went through plugs in the house to find loose wires. He was professional and tenacious in tracking
down loose wires. I highly recommend this business--they got out to our home in one day when others had told us it would be a month before they

We just had our house wired so we can run off generator when electricity is out. Our technician Greg was great. He was on time professional, courteous, and did a great job. Had a couple of chandeliers that I needed to be wired, and hung. The electrican they sent- ""Jeff"" was quick , professional, and was also able to trouble- shoot a manufacturing defect in the product with ease. I'll definitely be using the company in the future for all my electrical needs.

I requested them to replace two wall outlets inside and one dedicated outlet outside the house and replace a small bathroom fan.

Put outside pug in upside down and had to totally redo but I got charged for the time,
Quote price for fan under $100, I was bill at almost double that price
Billing did not have itemization for parts

In summary, a job that should have cost me about $250 was billed at over $500 and the bill was reduced by $100 only after I questioned it. I think that the billing is slip shod and they just see what you are willing to pay.

ADVISE..... Shop around. Demand an quote before you let them in the house. Oh, and please put on shoe covers.

False Advertising, watch out! Chico Electric sent me a marketing advertisement offering 24/7 Service Residential and Commercial Work, so I replied and explained I had residential and commercial work in Lake and Mendocino County. A generator installation at my 87 year old father's home and two transfer switch jobs that I needed done at my restaurant and office. They scheduled an appointment two weeks out for a Monday at 10am. I received a call 2 hours before the scheduled appointment to learn they were not coming. I was upset but understanding until the estimator proceeded to tell me that my job was going to cost a lot because of the distance from their office and kept on talking and telling me why they didn't want my job. I explained that I was fully aware of the costs and fully prepared to pay for the travel and extra expenses due to the distance. I just needed the work performed as they stated they could in the email advertisement they sent to ME. He promised to call back in a few hours and it's been 4 days. I also sent an email to the office and Troy said he'd also find out what was going on and get back to me. No one has called. Chico Electric is unprofessional and profoundly unreliable. Don't believe what you read.

Where to begin--
They completed the job... but certainly not in the timely manner. I would expect a month or maybe even two (as I was advised by them for the duration of time) but I feel like 5 months is a bit ridiculous - yes it took 5 months.
The jobs were completed, as per the initial quote... but only with an extra reminder (and proof of conversation stating initial jobs would be completed) AFTER I was told my job was complete.
There was communication... but mainly when I initiated a conversation first -you know, to follow up after a month had passed - and not hardly at all between the person communicating and the person doing the work - these are two separate people. Post consult, my 4 following visits to complete the job, 2 times the installers showed up over an hour+ later than I was told and once a FULL hour earlier (thankfully the installers were pleasant and apologetic for the inconveniences) - the 4th was on time because I was in direct contact with the installer to schedule. Oh yes, when the inspector came to look things over so they could move forward on the job (this would be a 5th visit), I was not given the date by Chico Electric, as I was told I would... That was just a lovely surprise when the inspector showed up (good thing I just happened to be home to open the gate).

Bottom line, yes, the job got done ... Just not in the time frame as promised. I've had other projects on hold, that could not be completed until this was done... For 5 months! The frustration dealing with this company assures that I will never hire them again.

Good luck to you if you decide to. I suggest you keep all written communication until your job is complete and harness all your inner patience... you will need it!

I called several electricians on graduation weekend to come out and repair some dead outlets at my rental house in Chico. Chico Electric was the ONLY one who ever even called back. Greg came out 2 days later and made the repairs quickly. Highly recommended.
