Great reliable service, had them replace my main panel outside which was the cause of low power been delivered to the house and i couldn't even use the vacuum cleaner without making sure no other power source was been used, priced right, left the work area clean as if nothing ever happened, and ensure all my issues were resolved, thank you .

I never write reviews but I've had ample time to sit and think about this and I still get worked up when I think about how poorly I was treated.

I would not recommend using this company for anything more than a simple light fixture or ceiling fan hanging. I'm writing this review for a project that was ""completed"" back in December.

I will say, they were responsive and on time which was refreshing. We originally had them hang a light and ceiling fan which turned out 100% fine, but when we asked them to install some medicine cabinets with lighting they destroyed our brand new bathroom and had me in tears.

We asked for 2 medicine cabinets with lighting to be installed and hardwired in our master bathroom. After they entered our bathroom and evaluated the situation, they claimed that the cabinets can't be hardwired (Which seemed odd to me because we have a mirror with lighting that is hard wired, but I trusted them as the experts) They suggested adding outlets and just plugging the mirrors into those, I was skeptical and explained that I don't want any wires showing whatsoever. They insisted that you wouldn't be able to see the wires unless you were tall enough to see over the cabinets. They should have just stopped after this and let me know they couldn't do it. They ended up adding the outlets and hanging the cabinets and it was a very lazy and rushed job. They left somewhat quickly and then when I went to go inspect the job I was shocked by how they left our bathroom.
- There were several holes, cuts, marks, and hardware on/in the wall they didn't warn us about, and they left our sink and walls filthy
- The cabinets were not aligned at the same height (they did warn me about this one at least)
- Cabinet doors were not aligned with the cabinets themselves - the doors tilted in at the bottom
- There was drywall all over the ground from where they had cut in
- The boxes that the cabinets came in were ripped apart with all the packaging everywhere
- They left behind a shirt in our sink and a ladder in the middle of our living room (which they had kindly lent to the other trade worker there but was no longer in use when they left) We did have another contractor in our place on the same day, I asked if that was going to be an issue and they said absolutely not and they are used to having other trade workers around at the same time.
- They used our private toilet area without asking and left the seat up (we have 2 baths - a guest bath and a bathroom in our bedroom which was being worked on)

I called them back after I realized how bad this was and asked them to come back the same day and retrieve their belongings / fix the misalignments. They came back but it was again, extremely rushed and I was not satisfied with how they handled it. They also made me feel guilty for asking for this which was honestly absurd.

We recently had another electrician fix the work they did, they were able to hard wire our cabinets (which Checo electric said wasn't possible) in under an hour.

Zero stars if I could rate the service my mother received from Checo electric in early December 2022. The electricity in her house went out on a circuit we were unable to locate. I decided to let my mom reach out to this company to see if they could help determine what the problem was due to the 5 star reviews they have online. Two technicians (including the owner) came to the property to try and troubleshoot the problem. They both could not determine the cause. The owner charged her $180.00 to come and did nothing. He stated they work on an hourly basis. The circuit is still not working to this day. In my opinion, no reliable or ethical electrician would take pay for not finding the problem or doing absolutely nothing. The owner even had the nerve to call back and ask my mom if she still needed assistance-- absolutely ridiculous and dishonest company.

1/21023- The issue was resolved with another neighboring company. The issue was not what Checo informed my mother, unfortunately. All the plumbing and electrical work in the home has been completed by licensed contractors. I honestly feel the diagnosis we received was a cop out. As the owner stated below, they were here for 2 hours and probably couldn't find the root of the issue, therefore we were told it was past ""handyman"" work-- which is an assumption not fact. It was promptly fixed to our satisfaction by Ochoa Electric. After reviewing Checo's customer reviews, I have come to the conclusion they are able to handle simple projects-- installations. If you are experiencing a severe electrical problem that requires troubleshooting, I would highly suggest going to another company like my family and I did and save your money to put towards the repair.

Carlos, the owner, and Matt did a great job. I got 3 driveway lights installed. There was no pre-existing wiring so they had to run EMT conduit inside my finished garage and wire everything to an existing outlet. The lights are controlled via a WiFi light switch that I provided them. Overall, the job was done to my request. Light installation is very clean looking and like a professional installed it.

To add, Carlos has very competitive pricing. So, if you want quality work and want to get it at a good price, make sure to hire him. Lastly, if you're active duty, make sure to ask about the military discount. He'll throw in a 10% off. I'm definitely going with Checo Electric for future electrical work.

Matt came over to our house to install two pendant lights above our dining room. Matt did a great job, and Carlos, the owner, was terrific to work with from start to finish. A small business right here in our backyard in Chula Vista. My wife and I are super proud to be able to support this small and growing business. If you need something electrical done in your house, give them a call, you will not regret it.

I highly recommend Checo Electric. Being new homeowners, we didn't know how to reset our AFCI breaker after it tripped. Matt came over on short notice to assess the situation. He quickly identified the problem and educated us on the issue so that if it happens again, we can reset the breaker on our own. He also went above and beyond to replace redundant GFCI outlets that could cause our system to trip again. We really appreciated the professionalism and attention to detail. Thanks, Matt!
