I'm pretty handy when it comes to fixing things, but when it comes to electrical work, I like to consult with a pro. Kevin from Charter Electric addressed all of my concerns and completed the job exactly as promised. He kept me informed during the process and verified everything worked properly before closing out the job. I got estimates from other companies and Charter was in the middle for pricing. I would definitely use Charter Electric again for my next project.

DO NOT USE, owner is a complete crock, electrician broke my water heater, now refuses to pay to fix it. Electrician came out Friday to fix a GFI outlet and install a new outlet. During the installation of the new outlet, the electrician pushed something in too far (per his words) causing the electricity to blow out. Over the weekend, I realized we werent getting any hot water anymore and our garage now smelled like smoke, so I had the electrician come back out Monday. He agreed he could smell the smoke and looked at our hot water heater and said the bottom element was all burned up and would need to be replaced, however, there was also now a big leak near the bottom element. It was obvious the leak wasnt there before because the tray around the water heater was almost full but not overflowing yet and the ground around the tray was completely dry (clearly signaling it was a fresh leak bc if it had been a long-term leak, that tray wouldve been overflowing and water wouldve been on the ground - see photos attached). When I asked the electrician what couldve caused that to happen so it doesnt happen again, he said it couldve been when he tripped the electricity during the outlet installation and when it came back on it couldve fried the element (which I have a video of him saying this bc I have a camera in my garage). I called the owner, Scott, to see how he was going to make this right. Instead of making it right he immediately denied ALL responsibility saying it was completely impossible that it couldve had anything to do with their work and that it was a complete coincidence that the heating element happened to explode the same exact day they worked on our electricity. Due to, per Scott's quote, my ""old ass water heater."" Which is funny because when I asked him how old my ""old ass water heater"" that he had never laid eyes on was, he said 1980s so I informed him that it was installed in 2015. I told him he could either make it right or I will be filing in small claims court. After this, he asked to ""speak with my husband."" I told him he's welcome to speak with my wife who is a female. His exact response was ""oh one of those."" Overall, he was COMPLETELY unprofessional, rude, sexist, and refused to take any responsibility for the issues his electrician caused and ADMITTED to causing on camera. After he refused to take any responsibility, I told him I cannot go back and forth forever, I needed to go back to work bc I had already taken hours away from work trying to get this issue resolved, his exact words were ""oh boo hoo for you"" (again all of this unprofessional convo captured on my garage cam). He said he would replace the heating element, but refused to address the new leak (which was clearly caused by the overheated element) and accused me of ""being one of those people,"" making up this absolutely dumb conspiracy theory that I was doing this all to get a free water heater, as if I had some magic wand that would make my heating element blow up the same exact day they worked on our electricity. He had his electrician replace the element which *shocker* did not fix the leak. Long story short he will be served with my small claims court complaint soon with the invoice for how much it costed me to replace my water heater. Additionally, just as an example of his unprofessionalism, these are the childish messages he continued to send me after his electrician left and after he already told me he would not be paying to fix the problem. Save yourself the time, hassle, and extra expense of fixing their mess-ups, and hire a real, professional electrician.

Great customer service! Scott was very responsive and polite. I had 2 lights installed and they got the job done next day. Will be using again, and 100% recommend to anyone.

Very quick to come out and provide quote for the work. All the folks I interacted with were very professional and kind. The problem leading to the 3 stars is their terrible communication on scheduling and rescheduling work. I was often having to repeatedly call, text, and message to get a response. It started making me nervous that they took my 1/2 deposit and ran but of course they did not. Not a good customer feeling however. As far as the work that was finally completed, it was well done and professional. They also did a good job of picking up after themselves.

Charter Electric was VERY responsive and sent someone to give an estimate within 1 hour of my inquiry so they do get high marks for that. However, their quote seemed outrageously high. I knew my project was super simple but the tech estimated it would take 4 hours and the price would be $750.00. I called another electrical company and they did the project in less than 2 hours for $140.00. I would recommend getting other estimates before hiring Charter Electric.
