Requested a quote and got invoiced before any work was done. Chose to go another route and they still insist we pay them for someone telling us ""they don't know what the problem is but can come do some tests if we agree to billing"". Half a year later they're still invoicing us for coming out to give a bid. In doing a lot of work with contractors in my career and personal life, this company seems to question ethical procedures on what is agreed and not agreed upon.

These guys did some things at my house that the previous owner should have done. An issue in the main panel was resolved and several light fixtures were replaced. Service commitments were met and pricing was reasonable based on the quality of their employ.

Called bacfor some minor repairs. They continue to provide quality, timely service at a reasonable price.

Light switch replaced and whole house surge protector installed. Again, great service.

I made an appointment for Charleston Electric to come out to the house to answer some wiring questions in my sun room. Their Yelp page gives you the option to request a quote online, but after inputting all the details of my job request, I got a simple response that advised me to contact the office for an appointment. Ok. The young lady at the office was very friendly and we made an appointment with Richie for a week or so out. She said that Richie would show up between 1pm and 3pm, and he was there at 1:05pm, so Richie gets an extra star just for that. I showed him the issue in my sunroom and after a little bit of playing around, he figured out what the problem was, and had it rewired and properly assessed within the hour. Thank God he did it within the hour, because they charge $150 an hour, and there's no way I could've afforded a second hour. Now I just have to install a fan in the sunroom and everyone will be happy as pigeons on a cathedral.

We contracted Charleston Electric to install a Generac whole house generator and it was a great experience.

1) Kaylee G the office manager has been outstanding to work with in every way!

2) Alan, Luke and Bobby (the installers) we're professional, polite and extremely hard working.

3) Robert, our account manager , is thorough, knowledgeable and insistent on top quality. In fact Robert came today to do the final inspection and he was not pleased with the job that the gas install company did. Robert personally called the owner of the gas company and they will be back tomorrow to fix the issues.

It was very comforting having this team at Charleston Electric working so solidly and cohesively on our behalf!

During the process of selling my home, the inspector found a breaker in my electrical panel that needed to be replaced. I contacted Charleston Electric through Yelp for a quote and got an almost immediate response. They were able to get in to fix the problem within a few days. The technician was polite and in and out within 15 minutes.

They did a so-so job. The appointment time was changed without my input or agreement (moved up), the tech was 3 hours late and required my help throughout (not with minor stuff, either), and to boot they charge $150 an hour. Surely there are better options out there for you to explore.

Charleston Electric put my full house generator in last year. Since they were so professional I decided to use them for additional electrical service inside my house. DJ was great and proved that I made the right choice to use them for all my electrical needs.

We have used Charleston electric no less than 20 times and have never had a bad experience. They are so good about educating you and keeping you in the loop while they are working. All suggestions they made we so appreciated ( ie: ""I would put the switch here "", I would put the outlet there "") because we didn't know
Where we should locate everything. I can't say enough good things about their service and people ( especially Bobby!)

Matt H. just finished a project at my house that included installation of many ceiling fans and dimmer switches. He also recommended putting a surge protection on the electrical box, which he was able to take care of as part of the scheduled service call. He looked at my smoke detector which seems to go off every time I cook and provided some recommendation. Matt completed the project much quicker than I expected.

Matt was prompt, showing up when scheduled and texting me that he was almost to my house. It was nice that he organized and cleaned up all the packaging from fans and switches as there was a lot!
