I am not satisfied with Casteel. They have aggressive sales tactics whenever they come to service or maintain my system. For some reason, they feel the need to repeatedly present you with the worst-case scenario over and over again. I've been urged to pay 20-30K for two new HVAC systems through their company. I was also just told by their supervisor/repair tech that my system and house should be condemned due to the disrepair of my gas furnace. Even though the carbon monoxide detectors had not gone off, we could all be killed in the middle of the night from possible carbon monoxide poisoning. Needless to say, the gas furnace will no longer be used until it can be replaced.

I accept that my systems are well past their life expectancies (although they have been maintained every year), but aggressive sales and scare tactics do not make me want to purchase from Casteel.

The final straw was when they recently came out to complete a fall ""tune up"" on my systems. The supervisor/repair tech (the same one who told me my home and system should be condemned) came and my system just happened to blow out the internal circuit breaker while he was performing routine maintenance. I was told by a manager there was nothing that could be done to restore my system to what it was just hours before. When I asked for his supervisor (which seemed to annoy him), the manager decided to give me another Doomsday scenario with my system. He also shared that the Kidde carbon monoxide systems that I had purchased would not be enough to save me from harm because I didn't pay hundreds of dollars to get one from Home Depot. I shared that this was my concern with Casteel, and he was just engaging in the same passive aggressive behavior that I wanted to avoid. After some pressing on the issue, the manager did get the second tech to come back to check the next day, only for the tech to tell me that nothing could be done. I was told this was a coincidence for my system to fail during a heating tune up. Perhaps, but I still expect the right thing to be done.

Now I'm stuck (at least temporarily) with a problem that Casteel created, and they will not replace the circuit breaker that they tripped and blew out. Good thing I was referred by family member to another company who will replace both systems with reputable name brand units for far less than Casteel. I don't want anything more from Casteel, just to have them restore my upper system to what it was. No more, no less. I believe in a business making it right when they cause damage.

It's a shame to say, but I don't trust this company anymore. Feel free to use them but definitely beware if you have an older system.

Wasted my Time, called in the morning and got one of those ridiculous 4 hr windows, they showed up late in the afternoon to say they cannot work on my home, they don't have the proper license, now its too late to call someone else and have to go without heat and can't cook, heat or cool food. Then gave me the verbal run around....

I took over management of a home serviced by Casteel for years and I successfully used them once and was happy (I may even have posted a positive review). I scheduled a tune up one month in advance (I live in the northeast) and booked a flight specifically for the tune up.

Two days prior to my appointment it was cancelled by Casteel because they were ""short staffed"" and were"" only responding to emergencies"". I spent one hour on the phone attempting to receive some accommodation. I pleaded with the head of dispatch to no avail noting Casteel has served my location for years and I was flying in from out of state for this appointment. He refused to help. I then asked Casteel for a supervisor follow up. I never once received a call.

I scrambled to find a replacement company which I eventually did. On the day of the cancelled appointment Casteel showed up with no notice or phone call. I already had had the unit serviced by a competitor. One week later I receive a phone call from Sandy in customer service saying she was calling ""again"" (I have never received a phone call from her). I returned the call three times and have never been able to speak to her. I held off writing this review pending a conversation with her. I could never trust this company or depend on them. The customer service was truly as bad as it gets

Bottom line they are ripping people of. had a leak in kitchen and quoted over $1000 to replace ptrap and faucet. I asked if I purchase my own parts how much would labor cost and was quoted $650-$700!!!!! Found a reputable plumber to install for $125. Do Not do business with them. I believe the plumbers name is Chris McCullen or McCullough.

In addition to an $89 dispatch fee, a $60 ""in-depth diagnostic fee,"" I was charged $241 to install a new outlet because the old (perfectly fine) one had a lose wire, resulting in power not getting to the room. This is a $1 part. Beware of these folks.

There was a misunderstanding with my house repair as a per job quote versus a time used quote. Casteel made this right and I will continue to utilize their services. Their techs are very polite, congenial and professional, even the 1 that I had a misunderstanding with, he was very courteous and phones me when he was OTW ! Glad to see that Mr. Casteel whom I personally know and have worked on his vehicles, picked an excellent group to take over and run his company going forward.

STAY AWAY FROM THEM! I requested an estimate for a 38KW Kohler brand whole house backup generator since they are one of the authorized dealers for Kohler brand generators. A gentleman named Henry Henderson who supposedly leads their generator/electrical department took a look at the property and gave me an estimate that was a full 50% higher than 2 other comparable quotes from established, well respected and authorized dealers local to the area. After I let them know that there quote was ~$15K higher, they slap me with an $89 ""dispatch"" fee on an estimate that was supposed to be completely free. These guys are running a total racket. I may report them to BBB and Georgia Attorney General.

We've used Casteel Heating & Cooling for the last 10 years at our Acworth home and have always been pleased with their work. Recently our upstairs unit went out, so I went online and was able to schedule them to come out that afternoon. The compressor was shot and their rep came out two days later to provide a quote. Being a large company I expected them to be more expensive, but turned out to be the lower of the two we had. Zach Werner and Chris showed up at 8:30 and 6 hours later they were driving off. These two guys worked hard in the heat of the day, kept me informed and cleaned up their work area.

As of right now, I'm giving this a 1 star. First, we bought a $13k unit to replace our old unit. I think this was way too costly. Secondly, we haven't even had this too expensive unit for even 6 months, and it's already not working as expected. It's going on day 5, and it's hot as hell in here. Yes, they did come out but have been unable to resolve the issue with the unit. I've been told a part was needed and they have to order the part. Was told they would be back the next day that was on Thursday, and today is Monday. The repairman said something about a sensor. All I know is this is a brand new expensive unit and we should not be having these problems less than having 6 months. Blowing hot air, line freezing, system not getting freon. Wall pad doesn't work 90% of the time most time it just spins and is not able to connect to the internet. I'm so disappointed. It's wayyy to hot in Georgia these days to have a brand new unit not working. All I can say good is when I go down in the basement, the unit is pretty. I'm still hot, though. I went and bought fans to put in my bedroom, trying to keep cool. Temp reading 86 degrees. I guess we should have shopped around more instead of listening to the salesman who was very good at what he does, obviously.

Old thermostat died and I realized I didn't have the knowledge to replace it with the type of system I have. Casteel was the first company able to come out on Saturday to fix it. Charged $600 to replace the thermostat! Had to pay it since I needed A/C on a 90+ degree day. After replacing it, found out the heat pump had gone bad and needed to be replaced. Only charged $150 for that service call which was reasonable. Needless to say, I did NOT use them for the new unit.
