I contacted Carter Services for a 2nd opinion on my dishwasher. the company that the warranty company sent me came out and said I needed a new motor and control panel. The dishwasher was only 2 years old. James from Carter Services came and determined that the original error code had been taken care of and there were no leaks and the dishwasher works fine.

Having been a loyal customer of Carter Services when any of our appliances needed repair, I contacted them when I heard that they might be able to fix our aging Wolf range. After very specific conversations about the age and model of the unit, I scheduled a service call. The technician was great and quickly diagnosed the problems. He researched the needed parts and I was told they were available. A week later I received a call letting me know the parts were available and was given a rather astounding estimate, which I agreed to as the only other option was to replace. I was told the parts would take about a week to arrive. Nearly two months went by and the only time I heard from Carter was when I called, more than once, to check on the status. Each time I was told that there was one outstanding part that would arrive ""any day now."" Two months after the initial service call I canceled the process as they had not been able to deliver on their ability to get the parts. I was refunded my substantial deposit but not for the service call even though the information they delivered before and after the call was not accurate.

I don't believe they ever acted intentionally dishonestly. They had bad information from their supplier. However, I was still made to pay for their bad business decisions. I doubt their vendor held them liable, I just wish they treated their (former) customers the same way.

Carters came through for me on a washing machine issue... The technician was awesome ( Ivan ) very professional he really knew what he was doing and took his time making sure everything was working perfectly before he left. They are not the least expensive but you get what you pay for. I would not go anywhere else....Very happy

Isac Buenrostro is skilled, honest, friendly, and helped my mom with a refrigerator repair. There was a freezer error code, and my mom wanted to disconnect the entire ice maker and water dispenser. She wanted to disconnect the water line completely in order to avoid problems. Isac clearly communicated and explained the mechanical issue to mom, a elderly woman. Best of all, he did not do any unnecessary repair that some other repairmen might be tempted to do. So honest, and so friendly. Took away my mom's stress. This is by far the best service I or my mom have ever had!

I had a new wall heater installed Dec 23, 2022. From that evening on it has rattled & banged every time it turns on. I have spoke to the tech that installed it several times & I keep getting the run around & excuses as to why it has not been fixed....even though it a brand new heater. I call on a weekly basis & when I ask to speak to a manager he is always ""on the other line"" & that he will call me back. Then, I receive a call from the tech AGAIN...with more excuses. I would like to get in contact with the owner & so I'm reaching out this way because I noticed they have responded to other peoples reviews.

After creating a service request through First American Home Warranty, we had several unsuccessful attempts at fixing our non-functional washer by one company. Eventually, they gave up after coming out five times and even changing the control board. Fortunately, Sergio from Carter successfully identified the issue, which was a small metal hex key blocking the water pipe, and fixed our washer. He also proactively removed the steam tube from the dryer to prevent leaks. However, after he left, we noticed that our dryer was making loud, rattling sounds. We reached out to Cater, and Sergio was able to identify the issue as the pipe connecting the dryer and the removed steam tube. He quickly fixed the issue, but we had some concerns when he asked us to pay for the additional repair.

As we believed the problem was a result of the washer repair, we felt it should be included in the same repair. After speaking with the First American Home Warranty representative on the phone, Sergio was informed that the dryer was, in fact, covered under warranty. However, an office staff member from Carter contacted us afterward to let us know that we needed to open a new service request (which would still cost us a decent amount) with First American Home Warranty and obtain a new claim number for them to get reimbursed for the additional repair. After a lengthy conversation, we explained how the issue resulted from the removal of the steam tube during the washer repair. Eventually, the staff member agreed to write off the expense on their end, and we did not need to contact the home warranty.

Despite the initial confusion and frustration with the additional cost, we were very pleased with Sergio's knowledge and skills in fixing the washer and dryer. We appreciated the professionalism and understanding the office staff showed in handling the situation. Clearly, they take pride in their work and value their customers' satisfaction. We highly recommend Carter to anyone in need of washer/dryer repair services and would not hesitate to use their service again in the future.

We are not using Carter Services anymore! We had used them for the past 30+ years and this past December we had them fix our two leaking faucets and replace our water filter dispenser. The estimate was $768.29 which we agreed. After the technician fixed the leaky faucets, they continued to leak so we decided to replace them with new faucets and bought 3 sets of new faucets from Home Depot. When the job was done, I was shocked that the final bill came to $1800.29 and I noticed labor was up $199/hour instead of $180/hour as in the original estimate. I called to adjust the labor cost and the manager said that when we provided the parts the labor cost would be higher. What!? We thought we were saving them time and labor so I asked why and he said that's the company policy and there's nothing he could do, but he would give us $30 credit for next time. I told him there's not going to be any more next time.

Few days later I used the dishwasher near the water filter dispenser and got another shock. The dishes were still dirty, the food was caked and the soap was not dissolved. It looked like there was no water running through the dishwasher. I did not call Carter back because I know there would be another $98 service trip charge and they would not admit that the technician had failed to reconnect water supply to the dishwasher. We called Angi and they sent a plumber who immediately diagnosed that there was no water supply to the dishwasher and he fixed that right away and with our other plumbing problems he spent about 2 hours and the total bill was $293.79 including $29.99 membership fee. Now you know why we will not use Carter Services again.

I will never call this business again. After many years of being a customer, hiring them for many jobs with my own home and rental properties, this is the first time I have had such horrible service, and attitude from a manager. I had a pipe under my kitchen sink slip open. I was told the little rubber thing needed to be changed. I did not see the worker go to his truck to get the right size rubber thing, and I was not shown the rubber piece that was being discarded. I was also not told the price of what the work would be until he was already done and having me sign for it. I was told only the price of the initial visit, just to show up and look at it. The guy was here 10 minutes, said he pulled the rubber ring out of his pocket and tightened the pipe. I asked if it was something easy that I could have done myself and he had said yes, he supposed. Then added if anything happens that they will come out and fix it again for free. This tiny little piece of 30 cent rubber cost me almost $300.00
When I called for the manager, Mr. Reed, to find out not only where my receipt was, but how the price was so high for such a small job..he was very rude about it all. I am not a Karen in anyway, but when people start acting like it's the customers fault when they are asking for information and a breakdown.. that's when i draw the line. If you are looking for rude people to work with who don't quote you, and don't show you the part they removed.. then call them. I don't know what happened to this company. They used to be so good, friendly, and accommodating. Now they are not.
