I needed an electrician with some creativity and Todd was the right guy. I bought an electric car and charging with only 110 took a whole day. Todd listened to me and gave me several ideas and estimates to enable me to charge the car more quickly and cheaply (from $200 to $3000 or more). Most important, he was equipped and ready to do any of them, and he gave me enough information to make the most practical choice for now and have a plan for the future. Plus , he's a ""kick"" to deal with-- a very personable fellow who is very knowledgeable. Some kid from a big company would have probably recommended rewiring the whole house !

I am a DIY'er with just about everything around the house and sometimes my work when the handyman isn't available, but electrical is one thing I do NOT mess with! Last summer we found out it was WAY too hot in our toddler's bedroom and we just couldn't afford to keep the A/C running the entire night, so we started looking for someone to install a ceiling fan. I came across Captain Todd's Lighting & Electrical after I saw my neighbor across the street get some beautiful new landscape lighting and asked them who they used. (I was also looking for redoing my backyard, which but that's later on our list!) Anyway, I found out Todd did all sorts of lighting, including ceiling fans! Some electricians didn't return my calls, but Todd was very responsive. I found him to be very personable and when at least 2 other electricians didn't want to install my ceiling fan until the weather cooled (I live in the Central Valley where it can get VERY hot), Todd said it wasn't a problem and would just shoot for an early morning appointment to get the job done quick and get our kiddo's room cooled down!

The day of our appointment it actually got really hot, really early, but Todd still toughed it out, I guess since he's a former Marine, he can work with situations that might bother other people! He got the job taken care of, and was super awesome with my kids who were very curious about all the work that was going on, and I was also glad that I was going to save a bunch of money by using another ceiling fan instead of cooling the whole house at night!

All in all, Todd was responsive, had reasonable prices, and SHOWED UP when he said he would, unlike other contractors I've contacted just to get a quote! He wasn't afraid of the heat or the smaller space he had to crawl through to get in the attic space, and most importantly, he wasn't afraid of the million-and-one questions that my kids would ask him while he was doing his work! He also gave me some ideas for when I finally redo my backyard, and I will be sure to contact Todd for my future electrical needs!

I attached a picture, sorry it's a little dusty (please don't judge me!), he did the work last year and I didn't take pictures until I found out Todd was opening up his new lighting/electrical business up in Chico. Oh, and he also made our 1 light switch turn into 2, because we wanted to be able to dim the light and still be able to use turn the ceiling fan just on or off, so there's a picture of that too!

thank you for all the work you have fixed installed and your ideas. Without your reasonable pricing and remarkable knowledge I don't know what I would have done thanks again and I'll be using your services and passing your information along, so others could have the phenomenal experiences I had.
