Sandy S.I was so hopeful with this company. To be fair, their original estimate was reasonable, they showed up when they said they would, they made good recommendations, and they did good work. The problem I had was with follow through. However, I get the feeling that they consider that they did what was requested, and they did. The problem is that what they did isn't working yet trying to get them to fix what isn't working has been futile. They reluctantly sent the person who did the work back out to my house, but he had no intention of fixing the problem. He told me he didn't have the part and proceeded to tell me how to fix it. The same for another problem. I'm not an electrician so there is no way I'm going to do what was recommended. Now I'm going to need to hire another electrician to fix/finish what they should have done. Even if I wanted to have them fix the problems I'm left with, I wouldn't hire them because they have a 2 hour minimum. This became a problem when they recommended that I order a part for something they worked on. When it came in I notified them because according to the person who worked on this, I was told it was something I couldn't install myself and he was right. It took about 1/2 hour to do but when he was done installing it I asked how much I owed him and was told $300. Not only was that more than what I paid for the fan, but when I contacted them to have them put it in, I was never informed about a 2 hour minimum. I reluctantly paid it but when I complained about this, I was told that I would receive a $75 refund. I still don't think that is appropriate because again, it's a matter of follow through and good business practices. This was nothing more than gouging a customer. I also never received the $75 refund, which I predicted based on my experience with them. It's not enough to just do what is asked. It's important to see things through and to guarantee your work. That's not the case with this company.
Lindsey T.I had a blown fuse in my kitchen and needed the GFCI outlet replaced. I spoke with Bill (the owner) and he was very nice and professional and he scheduled me for the next day to have someone come out. Josh was early for my scheduled appointment and was quick and efficient- done in less than an hour! He was also very nice and professional. And then came the invoice and I was shocked!! Let me just say- I'm not a cheap person what so ever and I have no problem paying for someone's skill and expertise to do a job that I cannot do myself. With that being said, I was being charged $20 for the part/materials and $300 for the ""service fee call"" which included $150 for an hour of labor which is completely reasonable...and $150 for ""driving out to my house."" Which....it's an Elk Grove based company and I live in Elk Grove and how else are you going to do the work unless ya come to my house? Usually when a business charges a service call fee that includes the first hour of labor. In retrospect it was my own fault for not asking for an estimate ahead of time. However, after the fact I got 3 estimates from other companies that were all less than $200. Hindsight is 20/20...Camp's was professional, great customer service and efficient but you can definitely find cheaper out there!
Steven S.We had Bill come out this morning to fix a switch for my pool. He did an excellent job. Very professional and knowledgeable. He was on time and did the work at a reasonable price. We will definitely use Camps Electric and Bill again. 100% recommend!
Ashlea D.We had a whole house ceiling fan installed this summer and just wanted to share that the fan really sucks! Ha ha! The suction is fantastic, I have even blown dry my hair through a little bathroom window on occasion! Bill from Camps Electrical Services was exemplary. Over and above what would be expected as far as quality, timeliness and professionalism. Thank you!! Highly recommend them!
Met with the owner Bill to get cost quotes for multiple projects around my house. I was planning to do half of the projects now and the other half later down the road. The price was so reasonable that I was able to pay for everything at once.
The technician (Josh) showed up on time and completed all the work quickly in the time that was estimated. Upon completion, Josh cleaned up and walked me through his work.
Very Pleased! I highly recommend. Also...Bill either answered his phone the first time or returned my calls immediately.
Clyde S.Bill displayed great communication and gave us an honest bid for the electric project!! Promptly scheduled an appointment and explained things in great detail. We scheduled the service for 7/16 and look forward to working with Camps Electric. Will update post after completion of project. We are sure it will be a great experience!
We had a ridiculously out of reach smoke alarm in house we just bought. About 14 feet high. Bill and his help came over and installed a ten year one lickity split
Super nice crew ... super nice owner ! Had a chance to talk with him about his experience in all electrical repairs for future issues we might encounter
He has impressive years of experience and vast knowledge of all types of electrical repair or installation. His company policy is to never hike up a price and fair hourly cost ! Camps will be our choice for electrician !!
Jay V.We have an old electrical panel with the screw in fuses. Bill came and diagnosed the situation right away. He educated me fully on my electrical problem. I would recommend him to anybody. Thank you so much for helping us.
Thank you Camps Electric for a great experience. Bill and his team put in a spa panel, installed and fixed outlets, changed a switch from powering/depowering an outlet to a light, and troubleshooting flicking lights. They were on time, flexible with my budget/affordable, respectful and personable. Even after the job was complete, there was one thing I hadn't directly specified that i wanted and they came back that same day to fix it for me free of charge. That level of service is hard to come across. I will call them again when i next need them and would recommend them to anyone.
We had Bill come over and figure out some wiring for a light that we had installed. I have to say, he was very quick and efficient with his work. Found out what the problem was and had it fixed within an hour! I would definitely recommend Bill for any electrical needs!
