I hired C&B to come out and install an extra 240V outlet. I needed it in my garage. I scheduled them to come out on a Wednesday morning... (I think the hours were between 8-11 but maybe it was 8-12) anyways, not important... at the close of the window, no body had shown up yet, so I called the office. They told me that they didn't have me on the schedule at all or in their computer system even (interesting, because this was the ONLY electrical company I called... they came high recommended from a builder friend of mine). Alright, fine, shit happens.. jusy stinks because I took the morning off work to wait for the guy (but, bright side-- I caught up on my latest netflix obsession). Anyways, I decided to give them a second chance, so I (re)schedule. This time he is supposed to come on Monday-- same window... they promised I would be the first of the day (because of the past screw up). Soooo, Monday comes, and he shows up around 10;45, which was within their window, but not the ""first of the day"" like I was promised. Fine, I understand the complexities of scheduling, but I hate when companies make promises that they don't intend to keep. So, he gets there, installs my outlet, it works, which is a plus, but it is one messy job. He drilled several holes that he didn't use into my concrete block garage, didn't clean up after himself (there was a lot of concrete dust mess in my otherwise clean garage), and honestly the job looks less than professional. I don't have a good way to describe it other than that the wiring just doesn't look ""clean"" (they have some kinks and things are mounted oddly). I realize it's a retrofit, but it could look better. Anyways, the plus side to this is that my outlet works, it's in my garage so who really cares what it looks like, and the price was fairly inexpensive... (I had paid a couple hundred dollars more to have it done in another state).
While he was there, I also asked him to check out an issue I had in my house: some of my lights flicker and the fuse pops often. He told me there was nothing wrong with it and that the circuit was just overloaded (The only thing on THAT fuse was two table lamps and my outdoor porch light). Anyways, 6 months later, I had to call another company, and they found that the entire board was bad and should have been replaced (but at this point, because C&B missed it, I missed my warranty time period). I'm sure they're fine for new construction, but I'd probably look elsewhere for someone to do work on your existing electrical.
