I called BV Electric based upon the recommendations from others on Yelp.

I am 100%, completely and more than satisfied with BV Electric.
More importantly, I am ECSTATIC with the level of service Boris provides.

Boris came to the house today (1/2/12) promptly at 8:30am as we had discussed prior to New Years. Boris is a true professional. He worked to understand my specific issues, the cause of the issues and the events that lead up to the issue (my uncle had offered to help in the garage so that our two lights would turn on simultaneously vs. having to turn them on separately. Despite what appeared to be best efforts from my Uncle, there was an issue that was causing the circuit breaker to pop every time we turned on the electricity to the garage.)

I thought we were in for a BIG service call.

Upon inspection, Boris identified that my Uncle had indeed done a professional job running wires, etc. The only issue was that one of our circuit breakers had been damaged due to an inconspicuous wire cut that was causing a short.

Boris provided additional insights on how best to finish out the garage drywall so that the electrical would be 100% up to code.

And what I was thinking would be big money turned out to be under $200.00.

Three cheers for Boris, recommended by Cole Hardware. We spoke on the phone, I sent him photos of the area where I wanted him to install a range hood, he came out, gave me an estimate for hanging/venting the hood, wall & ceiling sheetrock and new electrical to hardwire the hood and provide a new outlet. Very reasonable and work was done by his

Boris and Vesna are an amazing duo -- very efficient, extraordinarily thorough and reliable, and easily among the best contractors we've encountered in our initial home improvement efforts. I had competitive bids from 3 other electrical contractors -- BV's was very competitive, but what made me choose them was that the definitive advice and recommendations Boris provided were pragmatic, realistic, and clear to someone like me who had a bevy of complex and inter-dependent home restoration challenges.

Boris and his talented crew removed an aging fuse box, upgraded electric to 200amp, and worked with me (and PG&E's much, much slower team) to relocate service from the rear to the front of my home. He also provided an ample number of updated wiring so my wife and I could live comfortably, and checked the existing wiring on the remaining outlets / lights to ensure we could live safely with the new power supply. It's set us up nicely to follow-up with more wiring upgrades on our timetable as we continue our projects over time.

BV Electric came recommended to us by Cole Hardware's referral service -- from my experience with them, I couldn't more highly recommend them. Amazing and reliable electrical contractors and just excellent people to work with!

I recommend BV electric.

I called Boris late on a Friday afternoon to help with an old pendant lamp that was flickering and making scary crackling noices, and a bathroom exhaust fan that had stopped working altogether. Boris offered to have someone there that Saturday, but due to conflicts in my schedule we arranged an appointment at 1:00 on Monday afternoon. The electrician called me around noon to say he had finished a prior job and was available to start earlier if I was. When he arrived, he quickly diagnosed both problems, found a replacement fan at a supply store across town, drove across town to get it, and worked late to get it installed that evening. He had been unable to find the right part for the lamp, but got it the next day and was back the next afternoon to finish the job. All in all, very good, dedicated and friendly service. The price seemed reasonable for the amount of time this job required.

The only reason BV Electric gets a less than 5 stars is some of the communications regarding scheduling could have been improved. Although I was told by the office that the electrician was scheduled to come back and finish the second day, he apparenlty did not get the word until I called that afternoon to follow up with him directly. To his credit, though, he followed through and got the job done that day.

I'll use BV in the future.

These guys continue to rule! I needed a combined ceiling fan/heater/light unit replaced in my bathroom. I was gonna do it myself, but there was a maze of wires up there because of the three separate circuits. BV came by on short notice, and did an excellent job for a fair price. They are professional, polite, and knowledgeable. If you need a small job like that done, call BV. They won't disappoint.

Called for a quick quote on a small remodel. The fellow showed on time, gave a great price, then started to work that morning. Affordable, fast, and friendly! LOVE my new bathroom light and outlets!

Dear Vesna,
Regarding this response. I am a reasonable person and made every effort to communicate and clarify the issues in this regard. I found the discrepancies confusing, and frustrating.
1) on the first visit all I needed was a call regarding the times and was not given an update regarding the tardiness whi8ch transpired. I had to follow up personally and at that time was told that the electericians would be late.

2) I was in fact told by tony that boris was sleeping and i even asked twice about this and was clarified.

3) what i was told originally was based on incorrect information.
a) that track lighting in the kitchen was not up to code which was not correct according to boris track is possible
in the kitchen. he also amended that recessed lighting as tony presented to me had to be done a special
way since there is an upstairs unit which requires special recessed fixtures which are more expensive
b) that two light fixtures were on the estimate when only one was verified at the time, two tracks (one in the kitchen and one in the living room), one light fixture in the bedroom, to look at a transformer in the downstairs unit

I am disappointed with the time it took me, the discrepancies, the confusion and the time it took to get back to me regarding questions required to straighten all this out. The 2nd electrician who was called came out on time, offered his opinion, gave me a correct quote the first time and there was no confusion at all.

I am sorry that this had to happen, it was certainly not my intention nor my fault. again, as i said before, tony and boris and you are polite and nice, but the service was not acceptable and i wouldn't be able to trust that the job would be done properly either.

I called for second opinion. They put an electrician on the line which gave me the best advice and gave me the best of his time.

BV came to my home same day for an estimate and honored the 10% Yelp discount. Raul installed closet lighting for us and did a very nice job. He was diligent, courteous, helpful, and efficient. Based on my experience, I will use BV again and refer them to others.

I called BV after getting an outrageous bid from another electric company to do a bit of DSL wiring from our office down to the panel in the basement. They were incredibly professional and timely, and worked with our crazy schedules and changing availability. They came out twice to get the job done (because the first time we were unable to get keys to the correct room) without charging us.

All-in-all, very professional, quick, and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend them!
