I recently contacted Butte Valley Pump & Electric because the pump in my water well wasn't working. Alex Hoag came out the next business day, a Monday, and found a broken wire that was shorting power to the pump motor down in the well. He fixed the wire in a few minutes, a simple repair instead of the ordeal of hoisting almost 400' of pipe out of the hole to replace the pump, which would have meant removing the roof of the shed the previous owner built over the well head. Alex could have easily missed the broken wire, as it was inside an electrical box and difficult to see. He could also have accidently-on-purpose diagnosed it as a bad pump to generate more business for his company. But instead, Alex found a difficult to see problem and fixed it with supplies he had already on his truck. Not only is Alex knowledgeable and skilled, he's as honest as the day is long, and a real treasure to have when your well is acting up.

Note that Yelp! doesn't have a ""category"" for water well service, so I picked well drilling as the closest thing to it.
