Jerry Y.Tony, the electrician from Brite Electric that I worked with on my house, is a very dedicated man. I have initially asked for a lot of electrical works to be done but he looked over the situation at my house and told me there's no need to do all of those works when cheaper and faster alternatives are available. I saved quite a bit in the end. I like that from a contractor, one who tells you extra works are not necessary. He even worked well into the night to get things done on time. I'd definitely give him a call again when I need more electrical works at the house to be done.
Phil M.Tony, the owner, was very professional and helpful with his service. The time I called him to when he was finished was less than two hours and the price was very affordable. I would highly recommend him and use his services again.
Tracy W.Tony is very experienced electrician. He and his worker are very courteous and they used covers to cover our furniture before they were drilling holes on the attic. Tony is responsive and prompt with texting. I would recommend his service to any of our friends.
Jeff H.I have used Brite Electric several times in recent years, both for my work and home. Tony, the owner, has always been very pleasant to work with. He offers knowledgeable suggestions, does professional work, and completes project on time - all at a reasonable cost. Recently I hired him to install a chandelier that weighs about 200 lb and goes up to 20 ft ceiling. He spent a whole day on the job and made sure it was done properly. It turned to be a beautiful addition to my home, and my wife and I are very happy with the quality of work.
Jeff B.Washer and dryer suddenly stopped working so I knew it had to be related to the electric. Called up Brite first thing in the morning and got a same day appointment within my time schedule - was accommodating for later in the day. Came out, assessed the issue and was out of the house under an hour. Tony was very knowledgeable and walked me through what he was doing as I wanted to learn a little as well. Made recommendations for improvements, but did not try to sell them, just informational. Reasonably priced and will definitely be using him for any future electrical needs!
What an outstanding company. It really makes me sad to see a guy write such terrible things about Tony at Brite Electric! I've used Tony and his guys around my house for years for everything from inside and outside issues, hanging lights, TVs, adding plugs and lights you name it. Tony is like a trusted friend coming to my house. I just had an electrical problem I couldn't resolve for a couple of months, it took Tony about 15 min to find the problem and it was fixed in less than an hour! Furthermore I totally trust Tony and everything he has done is still working like the day he finished the work!
I recently purchased a 56 year old home in Del Cerro. It was in bad need of better lighting and updating the electric switches and plugs. Tony and his crew from
Brite Electric have given me a ""New Light"" on things! House looks more modern and everything is brighter and easier to read, work on computer etc. All the work was done in 2 days and at a very ""Fair"" price. A ""5 Star"" Experience!

STAY AWAY!!! The saying ""birds of a fleather flock together"" has been verified after my experience with my kitchen contractor recommending Tony from Brite Electric. They both did a number on me.
My kitchen cabinet installer, who butchered my cabinets and admitted he had no idea how to do Ikea cabinets after having said he just did an Ikea kitchen the week before, recommened Tony to do the electrical for the kitchen as I needed new outlets and wiring. At that point I didn't know the kitchen guy was a hack, and I was on a tight timeline so I went with Tony even though his price was high. He comes across as being very sharp and personable. I suppose those are the ones you have to be careful of.
Tony charged me $1500 to wire up most of the kitchen. The job took his employee James about 4-5 hours as most of the walls were open so he could do things pretty easily. Here are the issues that arose:
1) They used 8 gauge wire for a 50 amp cooktop. Per CA code a 50 amp appliance requires 6 gauge wire. This is a big no-no. It really is pathetic as the thicker gauge would have cost maybe $30 more.
2) They used a 8 gauge 2 conductor wire for the oven, when it requires a 8 gauge 3 conductor wire. Per CA code if you had existing 8-2 wire you could reuse it, but it is much safer to use 8-3 and it is a code requirement when wiring new. Again, they cheaped out. This would have cost maybe $15 more. They probably just didn't have any with them and figured I would never know.
3) They used a 50 amp breaker on a 30 amp appliance (over). This defeats the whole point of having a breaker and is a serious problem.
4) They left a mess everywhere. When they drilled through joists they didn't bother to vacumn anything up. They even left their Jambu Juice cup from lunch.
5) They did not patch or cover any of the drywall holes they made. This is unacceptable for the amount I paid and they never told me otherwise. I then had to pay the kitchen contractor $150 to patch some drywall holes. I think it was a total scam between them.
6) Most of the outlets were not lined up and visually off. I had to pay somebody else to move them later.
7) The price! I paid what amounted to probably $300/hr. What is worse his original quote was $2100. I'm such an idiot.
Here is where it gets fun. After I discovered that his job was totally subpar I called to figure out a resolution. At first he totally rebuffed me and said everythign he did was to code and he works on million dollar homes as does the same thing (this means this was not a one-off but he does illegal work regularly). After I very specifically pointed things out he offered to send me a small amount of money. I then told him there were more issues than I even previously knew about and the amount he was offereing was inssuficient. At that point he stopped responding to me.
BBB, contractor's board, and small claims court here I come! If anbody has any questions about this review feel free to contact me.
Jim B.I often do my own electrical work but this time it was outside and I wanted to make sure the job was done correctly, within code, and safe as it sometimes rains in San Diego. Anyway, I called Brite Electric after finding them on Yelp. They came the same day to check it out and provide an estimate. I agreed, and they came out fist thing the next morning (8:00AM as promised) and the job was done in just two hours, it would have taken me all day. The rate was 95/hr and well worth it.
wyatt k.Punctual, reliable, honest, affordable, and best of all quality work! Tony fixed my outlet problem and will be returning to install wiring for new ceiling fans. Glad I looked him up on BBB!
