Brian provided us with peace of mind when he checked out our second home in the area while we were still in NY and provided us with a free estimate for replacing our service and making some repairs. When we arrived at the house a week later, he came by again to discuss the proposal scheduled the work for later that week. His men arrived promptly and solved our problems efficiently and thoroughly, giving clear explanations of what was being done and how to avoid future problems. In sum, a very professional group of technicians and well-run business.

I hired BP Electric in Ocala FL to perform work on the construction of my new home. This is a review of items that I considered were below the standard that you could expect from an electrician :
the house plans called for 2 instant water heaters. I submitted to BP Electric's owner (B) the model numbers with a link to the manufacturer website for specs review. The wiring, drywall was subsequently performed. The plumber installed the units and at that point, (B) showed up to realize that the units required 2 wires. Instead of admitting his mistake, he went on to blame me (after he blamed the plumber for telling him the wrong thing). B wanted to charge me 1200$ to add the 2 wires. (Ended up having to pay half. Will explain later). While they crawled in the attic to add the wires, they crushed an AC duct which cost me 300$ to fix. (Of course they did not pay for it).
I did not pass a county inspection because the wrong breaker had been installed for one of my AC unit. They never came to replace it.
On the day that I had the power company hook up the permanent connection, 2 lugs were missing on my panel. The power company could not install the meter. At that point, it was very important for me to move into the house. I called B to make him aware of their mistake. He told me he was currently fishing lobsters in Key West, but that his employees (that he calls ""jackasses""), would be at my house before 2pm. After multiple calls and text, i ended having to call another electrician to finish the work. Obviously he did not care about the situation he put me due to their negligence.
I had no prewiring for garage door, TV from outside, phone from outside. No phone jack in the kitchen. Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to do it while installing wires when there's still no drywalls ? I also had a box without a wire in it. How about the fact that I can't turn on my lights in the garage without having the outside lights on ?
Initially it was planned to wire a gate. I had to cancel that due to budget restriction. Instead of getting a credit for it, he charged me 600$ to hook up power to my water well.
6) throughout the whole construction, not only the BP electric employees never picked up any mess that they made, but even though I told them not to throw their cigarette butts all over the place, they kept on doing it.
7) one day they did not show up as expected. The following day I asked one of the worker why he didnt show up, and he told me that he had gotten so drunk the night before that he felt too sick to show up for work. (At least he was honest).
At the end of the construction, i was disputing the charges. After telling me we would find a friendly agreement, he put a lien on my house. His friendly agreement was for me to pay or nothing. Since I had to close on my mortgage, I had no choice but paying BP electric for the items mentioned above.
I hope this review will help you to make a decision whether to hire BP electric for your electrical projects.
