I feel like I was sold lies. When scheduling, the dispatcher said they would be able to provide a parts and labor quote. After the technician came out, they refused to give me a parts and labor breakdown. I paid for the diagnostic service ($90) because I thought I could get the issue fixed fast. After refusing to give me any info and trying to sell me a yearly system checkup I asked the tech to leave. The $750 motor replacement they quoted me was fixed for less than $75 dollars in parts. I would have gladly paid $250-350 for this service but $750 is crazy when their parts cost should be lower than mine. I feel like this company prays on the perceived vulnerable. Shame on you Bonney.
Joshua K.Great company with very friendly people. they were very informative, honest and had what i think was fair pricing. Thanks Bonney
I would advise people stay away from Bonney. I had a water heater issue and the tech came out almost an hour late (after my wife called the company to find out where he was) did a visual inspection of my water heater and said that there was too much dust/lint for the water heater to work properly and wanted to charge me $80 to remove the dust. I told him that I would do that myself and he got upset and refused to look at my system any further. He said if I was going to clean up the dust then there is no reason for him to be there and he turned and left! He never tested to see if there was a problem with the gas control valve, the thermopile, nothing-just a visual inspection. My water heater is less than 4 years old and still covered under a manufacturer warranty, which I informed the person who scheduled my appointment. Was there dust on the system? Yes it is in the garage, did it look like it had been buried in the back yard? No. A quick blast of air (by me) and no more dust. However, the tech had already left my house and the water heater would still not work.
The next day I get a call from his supervisor and he started to apologize for his techs behavior, but when I mentioned that my system was still covered under warranty he tried to explain away his techs poor service and started to argue with me saying that Bonney has no obligation to honor manufacturer warranties unless they are the ones that install the system and that if I wanted to use my warranty it would cost me a lot more then to just pay Bonney for any of the parts. He also went on to say that any other plumber in town is going to do basically the same thing.
Needless to say, Bonney plumbing did not fix my water heater and tried to charge me $80 for something that had absolutely nothing to do with why the water heater wasn't working. I have since had the problem resolved with another local plumber, who worked with my warranty and showed me that they actually valued and wanted my business. I had hoped with all the negative press Bonney has received as of late, they would want to do everything they can to make sure their customers are happy, clearly not.
Charlissa S.I would have left no stars if I could. This place is crooked-they will charge you for things you don't need and their technicians are rude. Their technician,""Chaz or Charles"", upon discovering our water heater was under warranty left us without even diagnosing the problem and he knew we had a baby. He left us high and dry(and cold) at 6 pm when it was too late to call another company. I called them to complain and his supervisor called my husband and argued with him about the ""non"" service we received. Unbelievable! No wonder they were sued earlier this year. Just crooks!
Rip off! Wanted triple the amount that I got another company to do the same job for. Do yourself a favor and use this company as a last resort.
Susan S.BONNEY PLUMBING installed a BRAND NEW HVAC for us in May 2014. The company has been out numerous times to fix it. From the beginning, it's been a problem. The initial install set the thermostat wrong and we spent several hours in very hot weather with a new system that didn't work. It's been leaking off & on since November. They've been out to repair too many times to count now. I've missed work for this so many hours! Now it's leaking again. After they said it was fixed. For at least the third time. I honestly feel bad for the guy that's repaired our bedroom ceiling twice. Or maybe three times. Except that I'm sure he's making money hand over fist on this. My husband went to check in the attic space, and there is a 2' X 2' area wet. He also discovered that they never replaced the ruined insulation up there either. The drip is almost continuous. I've turned off everything. It's hot tonight and it's gonna be HOTTER tomorrow. Neither of us can afford to take more time off. I'm so frustrated! You finance over $9K for something, you really don't expect to have this much trouble!
J W.Just don't call them they will try to cheat you. They guy they sent out was rude pushing us to get things that they over over price you. Do they even know how crazy the company look when the give you a price quote that makes no since. All so the person on the phone gave us a different more cheaper price the guy that came out the rude loud one said he gave us the Wong price and should of have not done that. They are not organized. And will try to have you buy things that you don't need all way look at the fees they will add stuff they did not do.
Don't call unless if you want to be cheated and have money to throw away $$$$$$ crapy Service
Leonard G.Received letter from state and final result was the State of California is paid $12,000 for legal fees and fines of $900 for work done by Bonney Plumbing on my farm. --- water heater installation. Bonney Plumbing did excellent work and I forgive them, as being overcharged is only money and it is not worth holding bad feelings.
Steve M.Good to see the state went after this company for questionable business practices. They did a terrible job when it came to repairing a valve at my house. After paying hundreds of dollars the job was not done. I will never use or recommend this company
Tim T.How apropos that Bonney was fined $12K for shady practices. It hits the very nerve they exposed on my one service call with them. My experience with Bonney was not a good one. The tech showed up and proceeded to unclog the main line to the street as I requested. Thousands of plumbers can do that very easily. I have an older home and it's a fairly common occurrence for the drainage to be slow. Somehow the tech convinced me that I needed to ""see"" a live camera view of the line to show what was part of the problem. $225 - $250 for that view alone! I was shocked to say the least. If a company employs diagnostic tools, offsetting their cost at that price is exorbitant. When I called their office to complain, I was met with disinterest and absolutely no offer of any kind to reduce/delete that portion of the bill. I was basically taken for a joy ride at my own expense. What irks me, is that I was warned not to use Bonney. I should have listened.
