So the first thing is they were professional when I called, efficient and understood I needed someone out today. Plus they were $10.00 cheaper. Scott was my electrician, not only did he call me to notify me that he was running a little bit late, when he came here he knocked on the door very politely and also put booties on to come into my house. Scott was very professional very personable and we instantly made a connection. He went through the entire house and tested pretty much every plug-in he verified the breakers and if the issue wasn't with my electric although he went through the entire house he showed me how they determine their pricing and I really felt like he had gained my trust and Will be doing business with this company very soon to do some electrical upgrades. I will be referring this company to everybody and anybody I know.

Needed an electrician to repair electrical outside to fountain. They responded quickly to my email request. A quote was given and was the same as final cost. The electrician found where the electrical conduit had been damaged when my tree was removed. He replaced the whole line to the fountain and installed new GFI with extra outlets connected to the GFI. He cleaned over the area. He was on time and very pleasant. It was so nice to have a company respond quickly and do a professional job. The owner and the staff I talked to on the phone were very pleasant. I will recommend this company to anyone.

Ralph and Derek are amazing. We had issues with our light fixtures and they came out quickly. They are thorough and efficient... They quote you a fair and reasonable price and after all the work and time spent you want to pay more because you're so appreciative. We needed a new Electrical Panel on my Mom's house replaced. It had the original panel that was installed when the house was built in 1958. My brother needed an RV jack installed so he quit popping the existing panel every time he visits from out of state.

I called 5 different contractors for quotes. Only 2 contractors physically came to look at the panel. Ralph came out himself to give us a quote. He explained everything to my Mom and I telling us about the existing panel we had & the kind of panel he would install. He explained what was going to happen. He explained the SMUD would assign us an engineer to help us know what need to be done before we started. What trees would probably be in the way and how long the project would take. Ralph was the only one to give us a complete detailed estimate of everything they were going to. His price wasn't the lowest nor was it the highest but it was the most professional.

Once we got the trees removed from in front of the old electrical box and in the tree that the SMUD cable was in, we called Ralph, he set up a day and time with SMUD and the County inspectors and kept us in the loop with all the emails.

On the day of installation, his crew (Andy & Austin) showed up exactly at 8:00 with the lineman from SMUD who turned the power off. Andy & Austin worked diligently until 3:30 getting the old box removed and installing the new box. The inspectors came out approved their work & gave the OK to turn the power back on. Shortly thereafter two SMUD lineman came & connected the cables back up. On the hottest day of the year they all worked cleanly and safely and answered any questions I had.

Working with Lori in the office was so easy. She sent me an email with and invoice for the deposit, I paid that online, and then after the final inspection I went back to the same email and paid the rest of the invoice. I paid it all with a credit card and got a receipt immediately that I had paid my bill.

If we ever have any electrical needs again, the only company I would call would be Bonham Electric and would recommend Bonham Electric to any homeowner who needs their main breaker panel replaced.

I have worked with this company on several projects over the last 18 months and my experiences with Ralph and his team were so positive that I used them for my own home. We had to rewire the entire house and install an additional breaker box in our garage plus more. Mike, Austin and others on the team did a great job! They were on time every day, cleaned up at the end of each day and kept us informed every step of the way. I will continue to work with Bonham Electric for years to come.

I hired Bonham Electric to install the electrical for a spa. We discussed and set a start date, that day came and went with no contact from Ralph the owner. I called the next day and was told he had an opportunity come up that was too good to pass up (I see how my business rated). He said they would start the following week, once they received the building permit. They tried to pull the wrong permit and I had to stir them in the right direction. Finally work started 10 days after they were supposed to initially start.
When quoted, I was told it would take 2-3 days total to finish the installation. It actually took 9 calendar days from start to finish. The final inspection (3rd try) was actually signed off 26 days after the project start date.
During the entire project, I had to contact Ralph Bonham to find out when they would be at our house to work and for ANY updates. His foreman even showed up at my door at 8 PM to fix some of the issues with the installation. After sending an email voicing my displeasure, I finally did get some sort of communication, but it was short lived.
The workers that showed up to do the work were great and very polite. Honestly the crew that actually did the work is the only reason I gave 2 stars. Maybe the fact that I had the work done during the ""peak"" season was a factor in the poor communication and service. Judging by the other reviews maybe that is the case, but if it's a smaller job (other than a light switch or fan) I would look elsewhere.

I can't say enough about Bonham Electric!
I'm a general contractor in the Sacramento area and have used Ralph and his crew over 20 times. The results are always the same! They are on time, on budget, and get this - they're clean!
Not only have I noticed, but more importantly all of my customers have noticed and continually ask for them specifically and will not let another contractor come in.
I don't know how much better it could be!
I will continue to use Ralph and his crew and now that my clients will be greeted with a courteous, clean and efficient worker.

In early 2017, I hired Bonham Electric to replace the main panel on a house (built in 1960) I had just purchased. When I called to inquire about pricing, the gentleman asked a few questions about my future plans for the house (for example, whether I would be installing a hot tub or pool that required electricity for the pump) and recommended a 125 amp panel for my situation. I was pleased that he wasn't trying to sell me a 200 amp panel ""just because"" like the other electricians I had recently called for quotes. The gentleman came out to my house to check the breaker box and inform me of the plan of action; he also provided me the quote, which was reasonable. Bonham Electric provided proof of their insurance/license/bond and worked with me on a date for installation.

One or two days before the main panel installation, Bonham Electric arrived at my house unannounced to install the ground wire for the new box; thankfully, this wasn't an issue, since I had planned to be home that morning/afternoon. It turns out that their front office had forgotten to call me (I did not have any voicemails or missed calls on my phone). They explained that it was important to do this work prior to the day dedicated to replacing the main panel to ensure they could finish the main panel replacement in time for the city inspector to check their work the same day. The crew did an excellent job installing the ground wire; the installation was clean and up to code. While installing the ground wire, the crew found some exposed wires throughout the garage and threw some wire nuts on them without hesitation. (The previous home owner left a mess. :) )

The day of the main panel replacement went smoothly. The crew around 8 or 8:30 AM and worked through the morning and a good portion of the afternoon; they replaced the panel without issues. They also found a mismatch between the wire for the air conditioner and its breaker; they fixed it and informed me of their findings. After they finished, they showed me their work and asked if I had any questions. They reassured me that if the city inspector had any issues, they'd immediately come back out to address the issues; the inspector did not find any problems and promptly signed off on their work.

Based on my experience, I recommend Bonham Electric to any homeowner who needs their main breaker panel replaced.
