Very disappointing they take advantage of senior citizens. Charging 1k for 4 smoke detectors and an hour of labor is insane. Bolt Electric could have apologized, charged $250 and moved on but they continue to say they did nothing wrong. https://www.wfla.com/8-on-your-side/better-call-behnken/family-of-89-year-old-woman-questions-1-010-smoke-alarm-charge-threat-of-home-lien/2084189810

According to a NBC8 Tampa News story, these people charged a 86 year old lady over $1000.00 in install 4 smoke-detecters in her home. The detectors retail for about $25.00/each at any big-box store.
So...a $200/service call plus the detectors should have been about $300.00 at the most.
They refused to ""make this right"" even after a family member intervened.
What kind of business treats anyone like this and rips people off like this? Especially someone who is a senior citizen.
You be the judge.
The next time you need an electrical company, It sure ain't gonna be this one for anybody I can get to listen.
Shame on you..........Boycott these people.
Many, many bad reviews on other sites!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unbelievable!. Just saw ""Better Call Behnken"", on Channel 8; Bolt Electric apparently ripped off an 89 year old lady ""Dorothy Ahlquist"", by charging her $1010.75 for 4 new $8.00 Kiddle Model#14610AC. Think twice before calling these thieves. Instead of being fair & honest, they took advantage of this lady who lives by herself.

I put a 1 for a review which is probably misleading, it should be a ""0"". They never showed up. We had an appointment for 6/5/2019, they called and change it to 6/6/2019, called and canceled that one and rescheduled for today 6/10/2019. They were suppose to come between 10-2. It is now 4:30, no one showed up and no one bothered to call. Three strikes and you are out!

The only reason that I gave them a one is because zero is not an option. I had an absolutely miserable experience with them - techs showed up without the necessary parts leading to multiple visits, a rude manager, and a failed initial electrical inspection (due to an electrical code violation), being a sampling of what I experienced. Subsequent to their work, I had to hire another electrical company to repair the damage/fix the problems that they had caused. To top it all off, I paid for 60 amp service ... but the breaker is 50 amps. I would never hire them again, and would recommend avoiding them like the plague.

Danny was awesome! Prompt, pleasant, efficient, and super friendly to my daughter and pets. He installed a new ceiling fan in my living room and it works perfectly. I will definitely use Bolt Electric again and ask for Danny!

If I could give them no stars I would. Scheduled them to come out and was told it would be 8-11 and would be first call. No show. Called and was told it was 11-3 and we were mistaken (highly unlikely). Called after 3:00 because again, no show. Was told it would be 3:30 and that they tried to call 2x in last :30 and left 2 messages. Called my wife who was sitting at home all day long waiting. Guess what ? NO CALLS !! Katie on the phone was very condescending not taking any responsibility for anything only putting blame on us (who had been sitting around all day waiting). Asked to speak to a manager or someone in charge and of course was told no one was in the office (at 3:30 pm on a Friday). STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR DAY WAITING FOR NOONE TO SHOW !

The company came in to install a junction box(customer supplied), a GFCI in a different junction box(all parts customer supplied). $256.00!!!!
The wire was already in the cabinet. Had to install 2 screws to hold the junction box. install the second box and wire it to the GFCI(approximately 3' away).
256.00!!!
they were neat, I will give them that.
But beware, you to can be overcharged for simple work.

Hired this company from Home Advisor thinking they would be a honest one. Hired to put in transfer switch for MY generator. Being a 75 yr old widow who lives alone thought this would be easier for me to switch. Two came, checked my generator, sent pics of it to their supervisor. Called twice to someone off site. Now with Irma breathing down my neck, find that what they installed was TOTALLY NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MY GENERATOR. when called emergency operator she said when getting in touch with manager he said: TELL HER TO BUY A BIGGER GENERATOR! Disgusting. This one powered my whole house for 7 weeks after Andrew. Now will not even return my calls. I am on a fixed income and paid them over $2000 for a useless box hanging on wall!

Bolt Electric came out to ground the house. When the technician left, we were without internet, telephone, or cable. The manager told me that the technician could not possibly have caused this, but that the technician would call. He did not call. When Frontier came out 53 hours later, they showed me where the fios optic wire that had been cut right where the ground wire was buried. The technician had to have known that he did this.
