Called them after hurricane Ian to do repairs on electrical wiring at my home. Quoted over $3800.00. Actually got it done for $1300.00. Price gouging after the hurricane. Taking advantage of people in a terrible situation. Not an ethical company. They are local too. ?

Demons in disguise.
Came to house. Looked around
Sent an email to Code Enforcement and within an hour my husband and me were homeless.
True story. We had been living there for over 10 years.

For God's sake they could of offered to do something, anything besides making us homeless.

Home was clean and free of debris. Bolt said wiring unsafe.
If it happened to us it could happen to you.

Not happy at all! Bolt Electric has completely ignored my calls and scheduled and missed appointments with me a total of 4 times. I called Bolt Electric out in August because my pool pump kept cutting off. They explained that I would need to replace the pool pump (which I did) but they ran new wires and replaced the inside parts to my pool timer. They charged me over $300.00.
At first, on about every 3rd day, the pool timer would not automatically turn on in the morning, I had to manually turn it on. (It had always worked prior to Bolt Electric working on it) Then it stopped turning on every day. That is when I called Bolt and asked them to come back to fix the issue. They initially did not call me back, so I called them again. This time, they scheduled an appointment to have a technician come back to repair the timer. The day before the appointment, they texted and said that they would have to reschedule. The day before the 2nd appointment, same thing. I received a text from their office, explaining that this was a busy time of year. They needed to reschedule a 3rd time. On the day of the 3rd appointment, they did not show up. I received an automated text saying that my technician would be out the following day, making this my 4th appointment.
I immediately called them, and their answering service took my information, complaint, and said that someone would be in touch with me, but no one ever called. Also, no one ever showed up on the 4th appointment, and I never heard from them again.
Save yourself the frustration. Do not call Bolt Electric.

Had an appointment for an estimate to install a car charger. No show. No call back after I spoke with their answering service three separate times. Waste of my time.

This company is quite savvy and kind before they get your money. Dean came to our home to do an estimate. He seemed kind, knowledgeable & helpful. He said they have ""the best guys"" and he'd be supervising the project that we were paying $4500 CASH for. They had to switch out our electrical panel & add 3 outlets to designated areas that we requested. On July 27, two electricians came out. The job was estimated to take about 4-5 hours where we would not have power. We found a place to go with our 2 toddlers. My husband was on medication at the time that needed to be administered at certain times so we were counting on this time frame and didn't take it with us. Our power ended up being out about 7.5 hours with NO communication from them that it would be extended. I had to keep calling to ask if they were done. Then we were told they'd have to come back the following day to complete the job, taking way over the estimated amount of time.
Next, they added an outlet in a place we didn't ask, put the other outlet in the wrong spot and then didn't replace an outlet but charged us for it.
Any person knows that a ground wire must be 1 complete wire. The one guy split the wire and had to rewire and bury a new line. I thought these were the best guys. Apparently he had only been with the company a month.
After our job was done, we were told that the other electrician had been fired.
They were horrible at communicating. They left our house on the 2nd day with no communication to say they were done, but they clearly weren't because we still had issues.
I was told that on 8/9 I would be called by a manager to discuss our issues and receive a refund for the work that wasn't done & the terrible customer service experience from the electricians. They still have drywall that they need to fix where the put a hole in our ceiling when they came back to make a repair.
It is now 8/18 and I have left SIX messages with their call answering service bc you can't get through to a Bolt employee anywhere.
Katie- the girl who seemed super sweet & helpful at first stopped responding to my texts after she said I would get the call from the manager. I have sent her about 5 messages as well.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!VETERANS- DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY.  Absolutely ridiculous & unacceptable to ignore 6 messages from a customer who just paid you a boatload of money!!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Dean, Anthony, Zack, and Katie at Bolt Electric 443 Interstate Court, Sarasota, FL 34240 941-888-8111. If there is an example for outstanding customer service, this company exemplifies it.

I bought a house that the homeowner had done their own work ""just enough knowledge to be dangerous"" and I needed help quickly as I'm in the process of selling my home out of state. Katie listened to what I needed, got Dean scheduled ASAP and the work was scheduled for the following week.

Anthony and Zack came on time and got the job done! Every step was explained in my language, not tech-speak and I am very grateful for their prompt service, their outstanding customer service, and their dedication to ensuring my home is safe.

Nick was a HUGE help to us in getting my new dining room light hung and changing the wiring in an electrical outlet. For some reason, the dining room light was also attached to an outlet, so anytime we turned the light off it would also turn the electrical outlet off ... not helpful. I sent out a request for quotes on Angie's List and Bolt was one of two companies to respond, and they won my business simply because they were willing to come out and look at the issue before charging us anything for their time (the other company was going to charge us $99 just to come out and look at the problem). I had also bought a dimmer for the dining room light, so he installed that for me at no additional cost. He and his assistant were in and out within an hour, and cleaned up after themselves and were respectful the whole time' answered all of our questions and also gave us an estimate on moving our electrical box out of the bathroom/laundry room since we eventually want to do that as well. Overall, extremely happy with the cost for moving the electrical outlet off the light switch, installing the dining room light AND the dimmer switch. If we need any more electrical projects done we're definitely calling Bolt first!

We called Bolt Electric for a bad electrical outlet in the kitchen and another outlet which just went dead. Dean from Bolt arrived and was very friendly and explained everything he was doing. He also opened the electrical panel in the garage and showed me where the panel was overloaded and had been getting very ""hot"", causing one of the contacts behind the kitchen breaker to partially melt. Needless to say it was very unnerving to see this. Dean suggested a new breaker box which we were totally In favor of. Blake from Bolt arrived and replaced bad outlets and installed the new larger breaker box. Blake is without a doubt one of the most personable people I have ever met. He has a vast working knowledge of electrical components and explained everything as well as answered any question that my wife and I had. We are 100% satisfied with the service that we received and enjoyed meeting two of what I consider to be fine representatives of an outstanding company.

We needed a doorbell camera installed so we contacted 3 places and decided to go with Bolt. Blake and Katie helped us out. I was a little disappointed because the appointment window came and went and no one showed up. After calling them, they explained they were running a tad late and gave me a new arrival time. No biggie as I was off that day. Blake came out full of energy and information. He did some preliminary checks, gave the thumbs up and had the doorbell installed in minutes. It was quick, painless and he did an awesome job.
