Very good service. He called back right away and came over quickly and completed the work at a competitive price.
Great company electrical went out at my father's house who happens to be 80 years old with Parkinson's and on a fixed budget they came out complete professionals. Went right to work and got the house up and running in no time made a bad day turn into a good one and gave my father a price that he could live with thank you again for coming out and fixing our problems so fast.
Power out in my pool studio no where else in house Checked paneL. Nothing tripped. Called Barrett diagnosed and fixed problem quickly.
Came to house within a hour
Worst experience ever. I've never experienced such psycho misogynistic behavior in all my professional life with a contractor. Barrett took on my project to replace my residential electrical panel to an upgraded solar ready panel as defined by Tesla back in March 30. He took a huge 50% deposit giving me impression this job was easy, something his company does weekly, replace panels, it would be one day maybe 2 days to do it right and even offered $500 discount on his quote to compete with another electrician bid. After an immediate attempt and failure to start project days after taking my deposit, his assigned electrician didn't feel confident he understood scope of work nor had right materials so he left. That guy just showed up to my house unannounced with his wife, when I wasn't home trying to troubleshoot the job. Barrett telling me my panel was ordered , 5 days, turned into 45... he went as far as to ask me to split expedited shipping that cost more than the panel itself. He started sending me weird texts saying I was yelling at him and rude. So I guess customers are not suppose to hold contractor accountable? Can't ask questions? That's too much pressure for him? By Mid May I ask him gently because he's ultra sensitive for a business man, I asked to just give me my money back, cancel the job. He refused and kept saying he wanted to finish... I sent several messages because he doesn't answer phone, by text and email to cancel job and send my money. Then a new person calls to schedule my panel installation..Wallla... tells me Barrett's going through some personal issues apologizes for the delay and scheduled job next day . 2 day job they said. What a nightmare. Day one.. dejavu assigned electrician wasn't informed of scope of work, panel BM gave him, he said wouldn't fit. He spent whole day looking for correct size panel. Day 2 now is day one of working . Arrived at 9am 3 man team ... one had to keep leaving to get materials. These guys work out of their personal vehicles they don't have extra supplies on hand , they were at my house until 1am .. with no house electricity . I live in a remote area , I care for my 89 yr old Dad. When you hire a contractor they end up seeing your vulnerability especially as a woman or senior. How in world does BM think it's ok to be working until 1am and not text me or call me from cell to tell me what's going on. They were not responding to my texts from 10pm when I asked them to call it a day and come back next day. I guess they expected me to go outside in the dark with like 6-7 workers in middle of the night. They finally left 1am , giving me partial electricity, and I m happy just to go to sleep feeling safe in my home . Expecting them next day to complete work. No communication, I was ghosted by 3 BM workers for 3 days. I get an email on Memorial Day from Barrett 1in the afternoon again weird language and tone like he's a victim somehow and accuses me of many ridiculous claims. I told him I assumed he abandoned job since no one replied to me for 2 days . Unbelievable... this guy is a horrible businessman.
Do not use this company they shouldn't have a license , no professionalism at all. And disrespectful .
Called in the morning to have our panel inspected due to a blown GFI, which caused a power outage in both bedrooms. They sent a technician within a few hours who quickly solved the problem. Great service, prompt response and a fair price.
With all the electricians I have dealt with in the past, B&M is the most patient and responsive electrician I have ever worked with. After Barrett gave me a quote, I have had many questions for him afterward and he always immediately responded even during evening hours and weekends. Then on a holiday weekend, his guys came out and did an awesome job replacing an electrical panel. Highly recommended!
Giovanni B.Did not complete the job. Asked for extra money when it wasn't needed. Didn't follow through on his word. Will not use his services ever again
Highly recommended. fast service and came on time. I will definitely be calling them again next time I need electrical work done.
Worst business ever. I didn't learn until it was too late that we were getting scammed. I was on a government site and it says warning signs of getting scammed during home repairs. Barrett did everything on this checklist.
1) Scammers pressure you for an immediate decision.
Barrett gave us an initial price between 10-20k. I said I couldn't do it and that 8k was my absolute max. He said he would do it for 8k if I gave him an answer right now. This doesn't give you time to look into his background further or to get other estimates. I got pressured into hiring him thinking I was saving money when in reality we got scammed.
2) They're offering discounts that are too good to be true.
He cut the initial price in half saying he wants to help us. It made me feel grateful at the time, but I learned this was a red flag.
3) They ask for high upfront payments and be wary of contractors who ask for money to buy materials before starting the job.
After settling on 8k final price he said he would need money now mostly for supplies since the deal barely covers labor. He said he ideally wanted 6500 upfront.
4) They might even go as far as following you to the bank for you to withdrawal cash.
After agreeing to the job, he said I'll follow you to the bank so you can give me first payment and ideally in cash. He didn't even want check because he said it takes a few days. I withdrew as much cash as my bank allowed and as much money I could transfer electronically in a 24 hr period for him.
5) Scammers say they have materials left over from a previous job.
Despite saying he needed all this money now, he made a comment saying he already had most of the supplies needed. I didn't think of that until later since we were pressured into the deal.
6) Scammers probably will not offer nor provide a written estimate.
He did say he was going to write us a receipt on day one, but did not until the last day. I have two other witnesses that believed he was going to do more work that was agreed to verbally, but Barrett said he never said those things.
7) Contractors may ""find"" issues that significantly raise the price.
Barrett called me on the last day demanding an extra 1,500 for supplies (before he wrote the receipt of course). He told me on day one he wouldn't go past that 8k price, and if it went higher he would cover the cost himself. I didn't question it because we needed the job done and I wasn't about to argue the price of supplies when I'm not knowledgeable. I learned later that the cost of what he needed was nowhere near 1,500.
In addition to all this, I learned later that he doesn't have a contractors license to work which is illegal. He never even finished the job. He kept asking for last payment before the job was done. He told me the job was truly done this time and I paid him electronically, come to find it wasn't even done. I'm pregnant and I spent a whole 10 hours of physical labor cleaning up his mess. Worst mistake ever. Many lessons learned. Don't let him manipulate you into thinking anything different. Actions always speak louder than words.
So, my step daughter tried to help her grandmother (owner of the house, I am just a renter) with a power issue going to the pool. She hired Barrett from B&M electric to fix the issue. He came and said the entire line from panel to pool needed replaced. Along with the panel at the pool needing replaced. And all lines to pump and lights. His quote was $12,000. My step daughter told him they did not have that much money and would have to wait to do the job. Barrett then asked what could you pay? She said at the absolute most would be $8,000. Barrett then goes on to say him and his wife are good Christians, and do charity work twice a year. And he would be willing to take a loss and do the job for the $8,000. So she agreed. He demanded 6,000 up front for materials. And he would start the job the next day at 8am. 2 days later his guy came to ask what the job was. I explained to him what barrett had said. He then informed me that he was only supposed to do a line to the pool. Nothing more. In the end, they ran a line that was not legal. By law it had to be buried at least 18 inches. They did it at 10 inches. They busted up concrete, removed half of the lighting at the pool area. And then he told my step daughter he needed another $1,500 to finish the concrete that he destroyed. So she ended up paying the extra. Now a total of $9,500 and she had to put the extra 1,500 on a credit card. Then, after he got paid. He called his employee and told him to stop working and leave. So, all he did was run a line. destroyed the concrete. took out the lights. Did not replace the panel at the pool, and just left the old one with dangling wires that was not the way it was when he started. Trenches dug and not filled. Garbage, wires, broken concrete laying everywhere. Barrett Blocked her from being able to call him after he got the money. And Ghosted her. She is currently suing him. And to sum it all up. He will constantly say his business is 20 years old. Here is the link to his business license. you can see he started the business October of 2021. Seems more like 7 months not 20 years.

This guy DOES NOT have a electrician license or a contractors license! If you hire him, all I can say is look up everything he says. He will rob you blind. It is illegal to do electrical work without a c10 electrical license for any job over $500. The license number he will give you is JUST an LLC business license. Something anyone can get for a couple hundred dollars. She is not suing for 2K like Barrett claims, she is suing for $9500 to hire a real professional to fix what he did wrong. Do not let him scam you too. His staff is not vaccinated, and they do not wear masks. Even when they ask to come into your home to use restroom. I have never seen an electrician not only run out of a trailer in a trailer park. I have never seen a electrician with absolutely no electrical supplies. He had to buy all supplies. He didnt even know what stuff cost. He said 6k for supplies, it was actually not even 1K. Total con man.
UPDATE
To reply to his cowardly response and lies. I make pipes, bongs and dildo's out of glass for a living. His employee that asked me to make them something told him what I do. Been doing it for 27 years and absolutely LOVE my job. Hes just one of those people who lives by condemning others. Not a christian, just a user of Christianity. A false prophet. Who is getting divorced according to his wife lol
