Recommended Customer Reviews

About 6 months ago I posted a review about a wall EV charger outlet (220V) in my garage. That turned out that was my mistake that I did not know the associated breaker was in the main panel box outside my house.
But now I need to work on a water heater project and may need do a main panel upgrade, I cannot find the main breaker in the main panel that turns the power off to the entire home. I was told by my energy advisor that that breaker is typically marked main service disconnect and has the amperage marked on it.
The main panel should have such breaker installed but apparently there is no such breaker, as shown in the photos. How do I turn off the power to my entire house when needed? Did the Black Diamond technical forget to install a main breaker of 100A or 200A? That would be a major mistake.

What can I say about BDE? Well, inconsistency came to my mind. They are the dealer installed Control 4 home automation system in our community. But nearly everybody was pissed off by their services. Best description of Control 4 products is ""engineering"", but the truth is that it's awkward and clumsy not user friendly. Whenever we have power outages, the resetting of Control 4 system (that manage the security camera, lighting, door, heater/air con, ...etc) is just a nightmare. And Black Dimond Electric is not helpful or supportive. The visiting fee is $100, labor is $150/hr without any guarantee of fixing it. The most recent episode is that they felt bad about coming out during pandemic, so they offer phone consultation to reset the system. This time the hard reset really broke the camel's back. And now they would not even accept my phone call. Be aware they have a receptionist who would tell you the person you want to talk to is out of the office. Well as if she is on vacation forever. Conclusion: junk the Control 4 system and switch to other smart devices that you can use mobile phone to control everything in your home.

I have been doing business with Black Diamond Electric for 8 years now. As a vendor of many different companies, I know the difference between a company that cares about their customers and ones that don't. Black Diamond's customer service, quality of work, and dedication to the safety of their employees is a cut above the rest.

I recently had a service call for an alarm malfunction. The technicians arrived promptly, worked fast and clean. They considerately removed their shoes before entering. They fixed my problem quickly.
Two thumbs up!

Worst company to use for an alarm system! Worst customer service! If you can avoid using this company, I strongly advise to look elsewhere!!!! Ashley, Vicki, Samantha-all have very poor customer service-they need to take classes in etiquette and customer service!!!

In solidarity with Jeannie C and her response. I have new home and electrical issues every other day. The company has been out onsite over four time now, again, let me reiterate, this is a brand new home. I have never had issues over and over in much older homes or apartments, ever. Company also can never make it out because of distance, but I ask then why would they bid jobs if so far away from Gilroy?
Issues that have occurred since day one.
-Moved in to new home in August and master bedroom lights were out for two weeks. The guy who came out told me it was a lose ground wire. The thing I did not want to hear was the guy said he was the one who did our home, and new already what the issue was.
-Garage GFCI's pop, nothing is even plugged in. Same guy has been here twice for this.
-Master bathroom GFCI's pop, nothing is plugged in. Same guy has been here twice for this (going to call this one in again).
-Master bathroom lights pop when both fan and lights are on. Happens every few weeks (going to call this one in again)
-Kitchen GFCI's pop. Same guy has also been out twice for this.
-Furnace line poped twice in winter time (going to call this one in).
-Back yard light doesn't work now (going to call this one in).
Its a laundry list of seemingly small items but when one has to make time on some random Friday it becomes very lame very quick.
I'll mention it again, this is a brand new home. What the heck?

Terrible customer service. No follow up. Once alarm system installed, lost interest in ensuring that the system worked as it should. Wish that I had never used them.

Ridiculous!! In a new home and having some electrical issues... nothing major. Send in my warranty card and Black Diamond calls to schedule an appointment for last Friday between 2 and 4 p.m. I take off work in order to be there for this appt. No one shows!!! I get a call at 3:56 from Samantha at Black Diamond telling me the electrician isnt going to make it today... NO SH&%!!! I am frustrated as they asked me to take off on Monday at 3 p.m. I cannot do Monday at 3 p.m. but i can do 4 p.m. any day of the week.... They cant accomodate. She then states, they can be there Tuesday at 7 a.m. This I can work with. Its confirmed for Tuesday 9/18 at 7 a.m. HEY GUESS WHAT HAPPENS!!!! They showed up this morning at 7 a.m. MONDAY at 7 a.m.!!!! Are you fricking kidding me! It was confirmed for Tuesday at 7 a.m. I even wrote it down... well, guess who had to deal with it, my husband who was SLEEPING!!!! because he works night shift! SLEEPING!!! Way to Go BLACK DIAMOND !! Happy Frickin MONDAY morning!!!

Kevin did all of the low voltage electrical in my new home, Phone, computer, internet, sound and tv system. They did an outstanding job and has always been there for follow up calls and direction whenever I need help. They are all about customer service.
