I reached out to BK Electric Services to fix a recessed lighting can that was no longer working.

The good news is that they were prompt in getting back to me, they successfully fixed the problem, and it wasn't too expensive.

That bad is everything that didn't involve electricity.

The lighting cans they needed to remove are set in a white-painted drywall ceiling, one of which is directly over a desk. They didn't lay any kind of drop cloth or do any kind of preparation work before pulling the can out and dumping drywall dust all over everything on the desk, later asking me if I had a small vacuum to clean it up.

Additionally, neither electrician wore any kind of gloves which A) would have prevented one of them from getting shocked (which DID happen) and B) it would have prevented them from getting dirty hand prints all over the white ceiling.

On top of this, their removal of both lighting cans was so forceful that now unless they are set in very specific positions they will fall out. The only way to resolve this would be to remove the lights completely, redo the drywall, and re-install the cans, so I'll just deal with it.

I feel like any workman's motto should be ""leave things better than when you started"" but that was not the case here. Yes, they did solve the problem but they also left drywall dust and hand prints to clean, as well as lighting fixtures that, though now functioning correctly, are in a more precarious position than if I hadn't called someone to fix them.

As such, I definitely feel the service could have been better.

I had a heat lamp installed in my bathroom. They were punctual and very nice. They made sure that they did not ruin my painted ceiling. They went out of their way to help me and I couldn' t recommend them more highly.

I reached out to BK Electric after I had a bad experience with a technician through the Handy app. I initially had a bunch of switches replaced and it was had been done so poorly I needed professionals to do it right.

The receptionist was really friendly and accommodating over the phone, even though I was a bit put off by the $125 consultation fee. However, once Marcio and Anthony came out and inspected everything, they were able to diagnose the issues and give me a good price to cover everything. They even suggested future repairs I could do when it would be in my budget.

They were out the following day after the consultation and knocked everything out and went above and beyond. I luckily had some sconces delivered the night before and Marcio offered to install them as well if I wanted, which worked out great because he was able to get into the wiring and uncover another 3-way switch that needed a unique plate. Putting that together saved an extra trip and made life a bit easier.

They were really friendly, professional, and took care of all my new home needs in an efficient manner. I would definitely hire them again for future electrical jobs

Update we just used BK electric again and they are still awesome. We were having some issues with a few outlets in our bathroom and our tub wouldn't turn on and they were able to come out the next day. Ando and Kevin had our breaker and both GFCI plugs replaced in 30 minutes. Very professional and I still highly recommend them!

Marcio and Anthony came on schedule, assessed the problem, gave an estimate (very fair) and completed the work promptly. They also spent some time looking at some wiring to see it we could proceed with other projects. They were forthright with both possibilities and potential problems. All in all a fine experience, and I will now use them for all future electric work we need.
