Called into the emergency number on a Wednesday evening. Repair tech showed up when expected. Fixed the problem with the outside part of the unit and was going to charge me and leave without even making sure everything was working properly. Turned out the inside portion of the unit had an issue as well. He said part needed to be ordered and it should be next day. Thursday after not hearing a word from anyone we call around 1 PM to be told the part wasn't in. Called Friday AM to check status on part and schedule was put on hold and then told ""I spoke with the manager and it will be done today."" Called Friday at 2 PM when we still hadn't heard a word and was told ""we aren't sure when we will make it to you."" Had to argue to get them to send someone out. Repair tech told us they were sending him to Middleburg, then us on the Northside of Jax, then St. Augustine. No wonder they didn't know when we'd be repaired. Repair tech got us up an running. Horrid communication skills and absolutely ZERO customer service on the part of the office!!!!
B&G installed my AC System 6 years ago so it wasn't that old when it quit working all together in July in FL. It was a Wednesday evening returning home from vacation when we found out. At the time I couldn't remember the name of the company even so I called a service tech from another company that came out on Thursday morning. They informed me the compressor was bad and that it was going to be a 3K repair unless the unit was still under warranty. I finally located B&Gs sticker on the side of the unit under the panel and called them to inquire about the warranty that was placed on my system. The message was relayed and they called back and informed me it wasn't under warranty any longer because the system only had a 5 year warranty and we were now at 6 years. I got estimates from 2 other companies on the cost of install for a brand new system and made the decision that I would prefer to have a brand new system with a 10 year warranty installed for only 1100 dollars more than the cost of the compressor repair. I contracted the new install on Saturday and the work was completed on Monday. On the following Wednesday, a full week after I originally contacted B&G I got a message from them saying that ""someone was out of the office and when they came back to work they discovered my old system had a lifetime warranty and they could make the repair for just the cost of labor and coolant equaling about 1100 dollars or less. Long story short.. I spent 4500 dollars to have a new system put in based on bad information given to me by B&G when it would have only cost me 1100 to have the repair made if they had their stuff together and had given me accurate information the first time. They were very cavalier about it and said there was nothing they could do for me. Their ineptitude cost me 3400 dollars.. I'm thinking of taking this to small claims court.
After hurricane Irma, we called B & G electric to come to our house to fix a weather head and to connect the electricity. After we told them we are going through our insurance they decided to come out at 9pm that night, after 10 minutes the guy explained that he was not able to repair the weather head or do any repairs since it was night..mind you it was their choice to come out at 9pm, he gave a story about having to redo the whole service line to the pole and make our whole JEA system ""up to code"" and it would take a whole day to complete. He handed us a bill for 297.00 and said he would have someone contact us to do the extensive repair work. The next day we called B & G to see if someone was coming out and they said they would get back to us but never did. The day after that we called again to see if they were coming out and they rudely said they would get back to us, they never did. After the 2 days of no electricity and no response from B & G we decided to call another electric Co. They were at our house within the hour and fixed the weather head in 1/2 hour and said that nothing else needed to be fixed. They were awesome! Now back to B & G who couldn't be bothered to even return our calls, did find the time to file a court order for us to pay the 297.00 2 weeks later. Not sure how many people they scam into paying for services they don't need but I find It extra disgusting when they were obviously trying to take advantage of folks that were just trying to get back up from a hurricane. AWFUL COMPANY!
Multiple trips out and they wanted close to $800 to fix my AC.. When I questioned the charge I didn't get the answers I wanted and became suspicious.
Turns out my suspicions were correct. I paid a different AC company $144.00 of which $50 of that was to correct the wiring that they had messed up. When I reached out to them again, they would not answer my calls or emails.
Unprofessional and feeling ripped off.
