For anyone ready to get work or quotes from this company, please read . I had recently requested a quote for new A/C system at my house. I obtained as well other quotes from different companies, but since Best Home services guaranties to be very competitive with prices ( but they actually aren't at all ), however I decided to give it a try. First of all, the consultant/salesman who showed up had an upfront "" low"" attitude that was felt right away. Then what followed was even worse as his demeanor/behavior was so ""unprofessional & rude"". Every comment I would make, he would each time completely contradict my sayings ( and I know specific suggestions on my part were right) This has been the worse experience that I was not expecting, and in the end, the quote he wrote and lined up in kitchen.....he took off without a word, showing himself out, but making sure he was picking up the quote from the kitchen counter, in order not to leave it to me. Wow....never seen anything like this!!
This company does other services as well, but there isn't a chance in this world I will call for anything else. Never!
The technician was on time and friendly. However $366 to replace a capacitor in my A/C which took a total of 25 minutes was very expensive. Not happy about the price.
Called to replace 28 yr old 40 gal, 3500 watt water heater that died. Said they'd send email with photo but never happened. He did call though asking to come early, and the appt time he had was 2 hrs after what service told me night before. No problem - nice enough person, but how this company lies! I said a 30 gal tank, Rheem, was all I needed - small house, few people. He said, nope, can't put those in real houses, just manufactured homes. Hmm? I had spoken to friend's master plumber brother who was too far away to do the job, but he had told me what to ask for. I'd also priced out heaters on Home Depot website, so knew 20 and 40 gal tanks went from $350-450. The Best plumber gave me 2 quotes, one for 30, one 40 gal. Identical quotes - $1300 installed. This included a thermo expansion tank and ball valve. I told him I didn't need that, had release value built in house. He said, nope, that's new code, he had to put it in. LIE! He quoted me for an off-brand tank, 40 gal with that bulb, and said all the tanks were 4500 watts - which would put my house at risk for fire. Insisted all had to be code with that expansion tank. While he was here, I called Wyman Plumbers, 93 yrs experience in town. They quoted me $800-1100. They came out within hours, with the right tank, he said that bulb wasn't required, I have proper protection built into water line. Also, he could simply adjust the wiring to 3500 watts, it was an option with the Rheem tank. Did the job in about 2.5 hrs. I trust Wyman. NEVER trust over-priced and lying BEST Services. Nice people but oh dear, how dishonest.
I had a clog in the discharge pipe causing water from my washing machine to back up through the pipe onto the floor. Mark St. Pierre tried to snake the line for 20 minutes to no avail. He then hauled a large device up a ladder onto the roof to snake the line through the roof vent. Within a few minutes the line cleared and my washer discharged a full load of water with no problem. Mark could have stopped after the initial snaking failed, taken my $19 service, and called it a day, but he went the extra mile to scale the roof on a warm Florida day to get the job done. The price was fair, Mark was competent and professional and I am a satisfied customer.
Jaa B.Had a 9-11 appt window. I called them at 1045 because I hadn't heard from anyone. Customer service said driver was running late and it was looking like 1130-1230. At 1130 I received an email the tech was on his way. At 1245 I called back and said, ""still no tech, I want to cancel."" She said I will have to transfer you to my team leader. Donna got on the phone and said the driver should be there shortly, I'll have him call you right now with an eta. 15 minutes later I called Donna back and told her I haven't heard from the driver and to cancel my appointment now. She apologized and said they pride themselves on their customer service and I asked her how that can be when I had to call back three times because you never reached out to me. She apologized again and I hung up. The end.
Mark S. installed a dishwasher and gas range in my home and did a really nice job. Mark was knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and fair-what more could I ask for? I was very impressed and highly recommend him.
Beware! Stay away from this company!! When I scheduled the service I was told if I thought the estimate was too high I would only be liable for the $19.00 service call. If the job was completed then the $19.00 would be waived. When the serviceman quoted ""about $350.00"" I responded that I need a firm quote and was uncomfortable with ""about $350.00"". The job was your basic under sink kitchen trap & check the new faucet, dishwasher and disposal connections which were all new and already connected. He then assured me that he would do the job for $350.00, I responded that was too much and I knew it was less than a 1 hour job. I stated I would get him a check for the $19.00. After a couple minutes of mumbling as he looked further at the work area he then said ""ok, I'll do the job for $300.00"". I said I thought that was still too high and would get him the $19.00 and he may be on his way. Looking somewhat shocked he said "" you don't want me to do it'? I responded ""no thank you, I'm a retired general contractor and I've had 100 or more similar jobs done within 20 minutes and I know this for a fact! He then looked again under the sink while moaning and then asked if $250.00 for everything complete was acceptable. I reluctantly agreed and he was packed up with invoice in hand 50 minutes after his arrival. He actually did the job in 15 minutes. The invoice indicated $269.00. I asked why more than the $250.00 promised and he stated ""if you don't pay the service call then I have to"". At this point I just wanted the guy out of my sight and gave him the $269.00. That evening when my wife started to put some cleaners in the cabinet she noticed a puddle of water. After days of waiting for a return call I completed the job myself. Ultimately I spoke to ""Frank"" who was a team leader and offered to send me the $19.00. I told him he may have lost a lot of other work as I needed a lot more plumbing work done. He convinced me that they were an excellent company and he would send his best guy out to bid the pool heater gas line and would give me an unbeatable price to make up for the first job. Ha! What a joke! The bid was $1,875.00 for flex pipe or $1,100.00 for galv pipe! I had the job completed by a different company for $565.00 !! Simply put, Best Services will try to charge whatever they think they can get. Watch out my fellow seniors...these guys are true rip off !!!
Electrician Mark Snow has been to our home 3 times to complete various projects. He's extremely knowledgeable, professional, honest, and courteous. He explains things fully, goes above and beyond, and we'll always request him to service our electrical needs.
I just had my first a/c service call. Was I impressed, WOW, yes I was!! Keith who was the service tech did a outstanding job. When he signed us up for the service he promised to do a service on the unit that never was done before, and he sure did. He took pictures before he started and when he was finished. The unit was nite and day from what it was. If anyone out there is need of excellent service for their a/c my strong suggestion would be to call Best home services, not just for your a/c but in their service contract you also get yearly inspections for electric and plumbing. My wife and I are very glad we called them . Jack Hunter
Hah! There are at least 30 phone numbers to reach your company! I went through the Sarasota office. They say all customers should all be in the central database. NOT! I called your company. After 10 minutes of telling me company procedures, I hah had enough. Sorry, but nothing you can say will change my mind. My new electrician says he'd like to be a consumer advocate! He could make a fortune from your dissatisfied customers.
