I'm a homeowner in Orange who needed new electrical for an HVAC system. I found Berks electrical online and gave them a call. Both of the people I have spoken with from their office have been a pleasure to talk. However, They scheduled a technician to be at my house at 10:00AM on October 23rd. 12 o'clock rolls around and no technician. I called the office and they said it was on the schedule for 1:00PM. They apologized and I let it go. Technician arrives, nicest guy ever. I think his name was Rael. Meeting went well and finished with him saying he would get back to me with an estimate for the work we discussed. Today, November 5th still no call from Rael or anyone from Berks electrical. I follow up with a call to their office this morning. Here's what they said "" sorry for not getting back to you. Our estimator has been backed up with other jobs. He should have your estimate by the end of the week""
Are you kidding me!!!! This is how companies go out of business. Sure there is a lot of work right now and business is good. But what about when it slows down and you can't lean on your reputation because you blew off someone like me.

We had a problem with an outlet not working and because of that couldn't use my washer and dryer. I called yesterday and they made appointment for me between 8:30-10:30 and Guillermo showed at 9:30 and was very nice. He showed me everything he was doing with a clear explanation as to what the problem was and what he was doing to correct it. The price was great and Guillermo was very professional and friendly! But the thing that was most important to me was the explanation of why the outlet wasn't working and what he did to correct it! I will definitely be calling them again!!

We have a house in Irvine and have used Berk's in the past on a couple of occasions. They do good work and was reasonably priced. Recently, we had a exterior light next to the garage door go out. So we called Berk's and asked for them to come out, without asking about fees as I trusted them to be fair. What a mistake!!! The problem was a simple ballast that needed to be replaced. The worker did not have one on his truck so he needed to come back. Bottom line, they charged 389 dollars for a 15 minute job. The charge included 65 dollars for the ballast part which i subsequently checked online- you can buy the ballast for 13 dollars. I feel that they grossly over charged me and I feel betrayed as a former customer who trusted them. They are qualified and do do good work- however, there are many good electricians who also charge reasonable rates- I recommend that you take the time and find one.

Awesome company! We hired Berk's Electrical to restore power to the outlets under the kitchen sink and in some of the rooms upstairs. Kyle arrived shortly after we made the call for service and much earlier than anticipated. He was very professional, polite and knowledgeable, explaining everything he was doing and why. We had a problem with a dining room chandelier that was solved quickly. Kyle Hively was prompt, knowledgeable, cleaned up after his work. He also took care of replacing a remote device for a ceiling fan in a bedroom. We are getting a quote on some new undercounter lighting in the kitchen as well as replacing some old smoke forwand look forward to another good job.

UPDATE! Based on our previous experience we decided to have the company comeback and do a much larger project. We replaced all the smoke detectors in our house and put in a carbon monoxide detector. They also replaced our old undercounter lights with modern LEDs. We also had them put in new kitchen lighting in a china cabinet and new lighting over a serving counter between the kitchen and dining room. Kyle did the job efficiently and professionally. Everything works as expected. He cleaned everything up and thanked us for the call back to do this job. A great local company!
