There must have been several plumbing emergencies this mornin, because the Berkeys crews were all doing 90 or better on 121 today.
I guess the question for potential customers is, do you want someone who can't safely operate a motor vehicle working on your plumbing...

Signed up for the tune-up service through Home Depot. Tech came out and looked at both my units, said they both were good. 4 hours later I get a notification from my smart thermostat saying that I have a problem with my upstairs AC unit. I called Berkeys back out to fix whatever the problem was that I did not have before they came out. New tech comes out, long story short, I all of a sudden have an issue with a part that is going to cost me 635.00 to fix. For 7 years I had no issues and all of a sudden a part breaks after they visit. I will never use this company again, and I am going to let Home Depot know of my experience. They may not want to be partners with such a crooked company I would give minus five
stars if I could.

Do NOT hire these people. VERY dishonest. I hired Luis to come at the request of the condo insurance company to assess the electrical panel. They wanted to know if it was safe. Although he said it definitely was safe in the letter to the insurance company he wrote because it was old it would be best to replace it at a cost of 3000$. Total for the condos 540,000$. ( A classic case of get there and then upcharge). I called the company and told them to put that on the estimate for future work but they said it had been written by Moses and was on parchment and it COULD NOT be changed. Some service tech in a parking lot has that kind of authority! Amazing! Save yourself don't hire scum.

Had a drain plugged and called Berkey's. Tech arrived within a couple hours and spent an hour snaking drain after cutting drain pipe in attic which was an easy reach. Tech charged over $500.00 plus $39 fee which was eventually refunded. Neighbor had same problem same week and charged $185.00. Called the company and they sent a $60.00 off next call which I will never use, since their prices are outrageous. Also, Tech inquired if I thought the earth was flat or round which I felt was odd and had nothing to do with plumbing. Tech also said he was just waiting to start his own business. Obviously not a loyal employee. Company overpriced and unprofessional. Not to be ever used again.

Service Provider integrity is everything. Berkeys is an HVAC service provider for Home Depot. Home Depot installation services transferred me to Berkeys who answered the phone saying that they were a service provider for Home Depot. I explained that I needed to purchase a PTAC unit from Home Depot and have it installed. I am replacing my current PTAC. I was told that they could install the PTAC but I would have to purchase it from them, they could not install it if I purchased it from Home Depot. A consultation appointment was scheduled, technician came, the next day I received a written estimate for $6,000. I was furious. The PTAC, at Home Depot, costs between $1,300 and $1,900, depending on the model selected. The sunroom where the PTAC is located is 250 sq ft. The tech saw the room and the current PTAC. There is no way a PTAC costs $6,000. Berkeys can kick rocks. I am not the one to be taken advantage of. If I needed service on my HVAC or needed to purchase a new HVAC, I would not trust Berkeys. I would not trust them for any of the services they offer. Being a senior citizen, a smart senior citizen, I am grateful for the Lord's provision of discernment and wisdom when it comes to these types of experiences!

Lack of transparency & manipulation
I called the office regarding a refrigerant leak in our new AC system. I did explain the unit is new and that our technician could not isolate the location of the leak so we wanted to try to find the source of the leak (i.e. A leak detection service). I was very explicit that we needed a ""leak detection"" service.
I was told that we need to schedule a service call for a cost of $69. We scheduled the service call for May 1st. When the technician arrived, I explained the background of the issue and the fact that our technician could not locate the source of the leak. He said he is good at finding refrigerant leaks and that's why he was assigned to the service call - ""they assign technicians based on the nature of the issue"".
This indicated to us that Berkeys knew that we needed a leak detection service, at a minimum, but the cost of such service was not disclosed.
The technician before starting the diagnosis said, the leak detection cost is $450, and then he said that's for Berkey's customer, It would be $550 for non-Berkeys's customer. So, he manipulated me into buying the maintenance plan agreement for $100.
I had a lengthy conversation with the technician about my disappointment about not disclosing the cost of leak detection service upfront. The gist of his comment was that if the cost is disclosed, the customer would shop around and "" we (Berkeys) may not get the job"". This lack of transparency is very disturbing.
The technician spent about 45 minutes or less diagnosing the issue concluding that the refrigerant leak is somewhere in line inside the wall. This cost us $550 including the maintenance plan we were duped in purchasing. We have since canceled the maintenance plan with no refund as we have lost trust in this company.
We have shared our experience and feedback with the Company management team.

Had a brand new unit with a 3 year warranty installed a little over 1 year ago. During install they skipped out on a T for my pvc pipe that resulted in sediment build up. Charged me 420$ for them to fix what they didn't install correctly. I've done everything I can for preventative maintenance that they've suggested and this still happened. I'll be looking for another company for future hvac, electrical, and plumbing.

i'm actually a member of BERKEYS and I called on May 6 for a summer tuneup and they gave me the date of August 18 is the first available

They were plumbing for my cousin! It was an awful experience for the both of us sadly, if I were you I would definitely call a 5 star one. Basically, they had made her toilet wobble and water came flushing out all over everyone suddenly when she was using the toilet it started overflowing and left a nasty fluid on her and the floor. They even charged us more than expected and wouldn't take my insurance.

They started yelling and smashed my toilet when I told them to please be careful! I'm really hoping no one experiences this like me...
