I was informed by my insurance company that I needed a new circuit breaker panel. Of all the companies I talked to, and there were a lot of good ones, I got a good feeling talking to James Parker. He was familiar with my situation. Working with Adrianne Parker was great. She was proactive dealing with the estimate and PGE. Less than a week after finding out about this, the work was completed with pictures to send to my homeowners insurance underwriters, all done painlessly over the phone and email. Case closed. They worked seamlessly with the agency managing my property and my tenants. I would use these folks again, in a heartbeat. You should, too.

Bay Area electric is my go-to for electrical contractors. I have used them to do several panel replacements, remodels, and new construction. They are efficient and professional. A few things that stand out about Bay Area electric are the positive attitude, quality of the work that they do and the extra attention to detail; such as properly labeling the breakers (it's surprising how many other electrical contractor don't actually check the labeling). Also when doing remodels they are able to minimize disruption to walls. I've rarely needed to sheetrock or paint after Bay Area electric has done their work - such a time and cost saver to not have to match texture and repaint.

Great communication and follow-up. James arrived on time, brought with him the right parts, and was courteous, professional, honest and thorough. He replaced fifteen electrical outlets (very quickly!) and we are very happy with the work.
Excellent experience overall, and highly recommended!

I highly recommend Bay Area Electric for any of your electrical and lighting needs. I used them for the first time a couple of weeks ago to install a couple of sconces in my living room and they look amazing, just as I'd envisioned. James was prompt returning my call, providing me an estimate, and scheduling the appointment. The quote was very reasonable and the quality of work was excellent. I was extremely pleased with the final product. (I wanted to post a couple of pictures of the final project, but don't see a way to post them). I have a couple more electrical projects I need done and will definitely go with Bay Area Electric for these jobs.

Bay Area Electric is awesome. I had some lighting installed in my living room and bedrooms by a friend who had electrical ""experience"" when I first bought my house. The lights stopped working after a few months and my friend was nowhere to be found so I called Bay Area Electric to help me figure out what the problem was. James come over and gave me an estimate a couple days after I called. He was very honest and gave me a really reasonable price to fix the small projects I needed. He just finished replacing the recessed lighting and installed a smart dimmer in my living room. It looks awesome! I will definitely be using Bay Area Electric for all my future electrical needs!

Ever have your kitchen remodeled? So many decisions to make, counter tops, appliances, flooring, paint... Oh yes and the electrical, which is always very scary to me. Bay Area Electric made that part simple. We contacted them with yet another horror story from one of the Big Box Home Improvement stores. We had clearly been given some poor advice regarding the replacement of our breaker box. We were advised that PG&E would take three weeks to respond and our best bet would be to install a subpanel and not involve PG&E. This just didn't set well with us, so we contact Bay Area Electric. Adrienne was very professional. She took the time to hear all the history of our remodel and really focused on the work we needed done and how they could work it into the schedule of our remodel. We expressed our concerns about PG&E and she graciously assured us that shouldn't be a problem. Never once did she bad mouth the other contractor. James came out right away to survey our needs and Adrienne went to work scheduling an appointment with PG&E. Both of them kept us informed of the project progress and we were very pleased that all our needs could be met within the remodel time frame. We took the opportunity to express our interests in getting LED lighting throughout the house and James was able to get that work done even though it wasn't a part of our initial project plans. Bay Area Electric is number one in our books for project management, professionalism and pricing. We'll be calling them for all future electrical work and referring them to all our friends.

Fast response to my query to Home Advisor for an electrical contractor to install a ground rod for a rooftop TV antenna installation. Indeed, Bay Area Electric was able to schedule and install the ground rod the same day I called. Cost was reasonable. Very satisfied, would definitely use them again.

I had attempted to put in a GFCI receptacle. Due to my ignorance and lack of experience, I ended up destroying the replacement receptacle, and blew out several lightbulbs that were on the same circuit.

Once that had occurred I just closed things up and, for a time, just left the room darkened until I could afford a professional.

I sought checked on the various local electrical contractors. Each had fees for coming out to evaluate the job. This fee customarily included an hour of labor should you choose to have the contractor perform the job.

Bay Area Electric was well-reviewed, and stood out as experienced and reasonably priced.

James Parker showed up on time, and I expected the usual inspection, followed by frowning, some (probably) bogus calculations, and a presentation of what it was going to cost - including a side rant about the state-mandated fees, insurance, etc that made running a small business in California almost impossibly expensive.

I was therefore surprised to find that Mr. Parker immediately got to work. He promptly diagnosed the problem, and checked the other outlets until finding the receptacle downstream that shorted as a result of the GFCI blowing out.

He was friendly, professional, and completely focused on the tasks at hand. As a personal bonus he betrayed no hint of judgment about my amateurish and botched attempt to do the job myself.

The repairs were quickly made, and he provided a total of four LED bulbs, a new GFCI receptacle, and a replacement for the blown-out reception. All completed to my complete satisfaction within an hour.

I was ""shocked"" by the reasonable amount I was charged.

Based on my experience, Bay Area Electric has sparked a positive hope that whenever I need negative forces run to ground, they will be my #1 choice.

We rewired our 1950's house in Sonoma, upgraded the service to 200 amps, installed all new interior & exterior light fixtures and outlets, ran electrical to pool & pond, moved the meter to a private utility pole and installed a new panel & sub panel. We bid the work with plans to 4 electricians. BAE was competitive on pricing.

James and his crew did good work and we're very happy with the results. As good as James is as an electrician, BAE's secret weapon is Adrianne. She's very knowledgable and experienced at managing the whole process, diligently following through on your requests, answering questions, and being readily available by phone and email. You don't have to chase her down. We could not have done this scope of work without her help and patient attitude. We won't be looking for another electrician.
