RECKLESS DRIVERS. Charlotte, beware of any Bates' van you see on the road. If a company is going to provide utility vans to its employees, that company better make sure they know how to drive. Today, September 22, 2023, at approximately 1:30PM, I was traveling in the left lane of McDowell Street behind a Bates van. This reckless and wanton driver changes lanes to the right lane without a blinker, than cuts me off taking a u-turn. The front of my car was approximately 3ft away from the side of this van after I slammed on my breaks coming to a complete stop. McDowell is a double yellow line street and this driver's reckless actions occurred prior to an intersection. I recommend that anyone looking for electrician look elsewhere because Charlotte does not need anymore unsafe and reckless drivers on the road.

After an initial miscommunication on my appointment, the electrician arrived the next morning promptly at 8am. The job was to replace 3 exterior lighting fixtures. He went right to work, explained what he was doing, removed the old lights and all trash, and the new lights look great! I'd call these guys in a heartbeat if I need electrical work again.

The electrician arrived 1 hour and 45 minutes late. They are never prepared for what they are doing. They need to go to lowes to buy extra materials which is on your time. We had them install 3 ceiling fan lights and 2 lights in our closets. They took almost 5 hours. While the installation is fine, they are very expensive and slow. I would not recommend them.

A one day fan installation job is now at three days and still not complete. The service advisor Alexis Strones, kept double booking and shorting techs for our job. The techs had a ""don't care"" attitude. i will never use them again!

Had an Internet issue that turned out to be 'noice' on the coax cable routed from the home junction box up to the second floor 'media closet'. The technician (Pete Herres) called prior to arriving and gave his ETA which was spot on. After going over the issue, Pete gave me his repair plan which included cutting into the drywall in several locations so that he could get the new coax installed. I was having visions of patching drywall which I don't like doing but if that is what it takes, that is what we'll do. Pete got to work and the way he cut into the drywall was VERY easy to patch and repair...oh, he replaced the coax as well. Bill was what was quoted and everything was done in a professional manner (ran cable, tacked it down with cable 'staples' and replaced the drywall sections he had cut so all I have to do is patch, sand and paint.
I'd recommend Bates and especially Pete Herres.

Very knowledgeable and respectful. Able to repair problem in minimal time and replaced exterior outlet cover that was allowing water to deep into outlet.

I'm so happy with Bates Electric! Peter Herres was very professional. He installed some dimmers, and fixed an outage in our bonus room. He did everything in 2 hours. Other companies were looking to overcharge us. I felt Bates Electric gave us a fair deal for the amount of work. I would recommend this company, and Peter! We will use them again in the future.

I was very pleased with the service that was provided. I gave 4 stars because I was not contacted when the technician did not arrive at my appointment time; I had to call them to find out what was going on. The tech arrived a couple of hours after my scheduled appointment. He was very polite and professional. My fixtures look great.

Used Bates Electric to help in various small projects including installing new smart doorbells and ceiling fans switches along with wiring. They did a fantastic job and were very helpful! Would gladly use their services again especially for future projects!
