Recommended Customer Reviews

Highly recommend Barry Electric to anyone looking to get a solar array installed. Our property is completely off grid and Barry electric has done the majority of the work. Jody is very professional, knowledgeable, and honest. His recommendations have been excellent and his workmanship is top notch.

My 2007-built Pine Mountain Lake house had a tree land on power cable going from PG&E pole to my house. The same tree (among 2 others that fell from a lot across the street) also downed power cables between wooden poles and a cable going to my next door neighbor's house. On the 4th day with with no power PG&E replaced pole and connected new power cables. They restored power to my next door neighbor and chopped power cables going to my house. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I'm 99% convinced that they could have done exactly the same for my house on the spot. Why didn't they? Because I'm a city sleeker and my neighbor they know as local, and they also know all electricians who need work and Tuolumne county folks who's job is to do inspections. But enough with conspiracy theories. A call to PG&E revealed that they will not reconnect power unless I hire an electrician and get Tuolumne county $175 permit to connect power which comes with inspection. A few hundred people had the same problem as I did in the area post severe weather event. I called 5 electricians and for 48 hours there was no response. I got response from secretaries of Barry Electric and another company with word ""electric"" in its name. The other company I will not bash here by name tried to stiff me by giving me $1400 repair quote over the phone. After I told them I already got a lower $ quote from Barry who happened to be in PML that day, I was told that wrong invoice was quoted to me and the actual amount is $1100. Barry got the job done for around $700 with permit included + 11 days of having the house with no power was the total damage. 2 120volt cables going from the weather-head to PG&E meter along with ""neutral"" cable were replaced along with weather-head cap. Another sign that the other company is full of it was that they sent 3 electricians to my house and provided their names in e-mail - there's just no need to send 3 folks on this as it's a 1 man's job. Also the other guys said they'll need time to order replacement parts. Barry had those in his truck and said he carries large selection of parts for electric panel /weather-head related repairs. He got all repairs done the same date he happened to be in PML. I deal with PML ""alternate universe"" of people asking excessive amounts for work or just flake on even showing up to give an estimate for 9 years now. I can confirm that PML is indeed something of a parallel alternate universe in itself were people expect exec salaries for ordinary work or just can't simply say no and instead disappear even after setting another appointment they don't show up for. I also would like to share it, that although I work in tech, like many city sleekers with PML houses, that we have never seen a money tree, although you assume you can cash milk us just because we grow those. In reality Tech pays well but it's often seasonal job- like crab fishing- just read layoff news for last half a year. Thank you Barry for saving me time and money! I'll be calling once I upgrade 1 of my 2 hybrid cars to a plug-in charge one, for Level 2 charger installation in my garage.

Barry was great! My Well Pump breaker kept going off and Barry came out and fixed my issue!

Barry came out let me know it was PG& E 's problem. Even called them for me. Then checked back with me to make sure PG&E came out. You sure don't find businesses like this anymore. We won't use anyone but Barry electric. Wonderful people.

I called for help with an electrical problem on a Monday morning and told I would get a call back in 24 hours. Called Tuesday morning again and told I would get a call back. I found a company that called me back and is taking care of me while I am still waiting for BARRY to call me back and it's Wednesday. I call that very poor customer service!!!

I have called Don at Barry Electric for a few years now. He is the calm in the storm when things go wrong at the restaurant.Great guy Great service

So glad this company was recommended to me. We had an emergency and they were there in short order. The work was completed quickly and they cleaned up afterwards. Couldn't get much better!

Barry has helped us for years with our off-grid property, we love him!

I use Barry Electric for most all my real estate inspections as well as in my home. Recently had him install 2 ceiling fans, he was very clean and concerned with not making a mess in my bedrooms. Minor glitch with another room the following day, but he was out immediately to repair for free.
