I've had quite a few issues with BCE over the last year. Here's an example:

BCE emails a bill on Sep 10, 2013. On Sep 19th, 2013, I respond that the work was not approved and that I could not tell what the work billed was for. Thus, I would not be paying for the invoice.

Over FOUR months later, BCE responds by threatening to take me to collections, not specifying what the work was for, and can't seem to provide a work order.

This is the second and last time I will let BCE pull a fast one on me. Unfortunately their lack of communication and organization has led me to pursue other options for reliable and honest electrical contractors. I've paid BCE over 10k in 2012 and 2013 but will not be making the mistake of hiring them again. Don't make the same mistake I did. IF YOU DO USE BCE, YOU MUST BE VERY CLEAR WITH WHAT DOCUMENTATION YOU REQUIRE TO PAY AN INVOICE. Require that all invoices will only be paid with a SIGNED bid/work order and a signed document verifying that the work was completed as promised. Never use an old email thread to discuss new work orders. Also, require them to communicate via email only so that you have written proof of everything you have discussed with them.

The only reason I gave BCE 2 stars is because Kevin Brown, one of their estimators, is a fair and honest guy who had done a good job of clearing up all my issues with Ivan and Emerleen. Also, In retrospect I could have prevented theses issues by enforcing the requirements listed in the latter half of the previous paragraph. Overall, I've never dealt with a company so disorganized. Follow my requirements listed above or find yourself another company.

The best electrical contractor in Sacramento. Fred Barnum loves his work and imbues the organization with a very high level of professionalism and integrity. The long time staff obviously enjoys working there. Lots of innovation and constant expansion. They now do alternative energy, LED lighting retrofits, multi-family, pre-fab. First class organization with an excellent customer focused mentality.
