I'd like to join my voice to the rest of the people and highly praise Bakenhus Electric and especially Eric and his helper in training David.
They came first thing in the morning the next day after I called, were friendly, polite, professional and highly knowledgable.
I had a not so common electrical installation and they were able to fix every single issue I throw at them, very quickly, and at a decent price.
I will call them again, without any hesitation should I need their service in the future.

I hate to be the dissenting voice but I trusted all of the great reviews and had them come by to check out a breaker that was getting very hot, identified during a Hope inspection, which far exceeded normal temps.

When the guys came they said ""well it's not hot now."" That's because it wasn't under a load at all. They acted like it was no big deal and I asked them what they thought should be done. The obvious answer would be to put it under a load and troubleshoot from there.

But in response to my asking what needs to be done, they shrugged it off and said they could put it under a load and then test to see what it should be vs what it is, but they made it real clear they weren't interested in doing that. It was really clear they didn't have any interest in checking out what the cause was.

They were also supposed to get me a quote for additional outlets to be added to the house which I never heard back on.

At the end of their visit the guy made sure to point out that he wasn't going to charge me for his apprentices time and expertise. How generous.

I will say they were on time and friendly, they just didn't do what needed to be done.

Bakenhus was easy to schedule and great service overall. They communicated well which made it easy for me to change my appointment time and they provided a heads up when they were on their way.

Jacob and Tyler were both were very professional. They answered all my questions and worked quickly and neatly. Pricing was fair with labor and materials. There is a 1.5 hour minimum but there wasn't a trip charge and was able to use up most of that time.

Would highly recommend and would use their services again.

Every time we've used these guys, they have been great. They are polite, conscientious, clean, hard working, on time (often early), and they do the job like you'd want to do it if you did it yourself. I hope we don't need them again, but if we do, we will not hesitate to call them.

Highly professional local business. They did an assortment of work at our house and Robert's expertise on the phone was of great help. He sent an electrician and an apprentice to complete the jobs and they were both highly professional, knowledgeable, good guys. They got straight to work and did quality work. Could not recommend Bakenhaus Electric more...there is a reason people have been using them for so long.

Bakenhaus was very professional and well priced. I called for an estimate, and was given a rough estimate, after sending images. I had them install a plug in for a Level 2 Tesla charger. Other companies wanted to charge me extra, because it was a Tesla or tell me that it would require extra work. The workers came and installed the plug in, during a 30 minute work call. They charged my card on their phone and everything was good to go!

Great service for a great price! They are a very neighborly and professional business.

We recently had the need for a light fixture to be replaced in our master bath shower. Living in an older home in Shepherd Park Plaza, we discovered the fixture was burned out and beyond my DIY abilities.

We found multiple good reviews on Yelp and Neighborhood reviews for Backenhus Electric.

Called them on Tue afternoon, they were able to schedule a time on Thu afternoon.

The electrician they sent out, Eric was nothing short of awesome...on time, professional, courteous and efficient. He fixed the light quickly, and we added some extra work of an outlet that needed replaced. He was honest, earnest and a pleasure to do business with, and the cost was extremely reasonable.

I would highly recommend them and will use them for any future needs! Awesome job, thank you!!

Love these guys! We found Bakenhus here on Yelp while we lived in Oak Forest and since they were so close it made sense to give them a try. They are always on time, very competitive rates, and are just all around really nice guys. We have been calling on them for 4 years now and have never been disappointed. Even when we moved out here to Richmond they still come all the way out here whenever we need them. We are customers for life!
