Scheduled an AC check and canceled from their end because high demand on other units. So their word means nothing if someone else need a higher repair. Not a good way to do business. other reviewers seemed to have the same issue. Not calling back.

This company is an absolute joke. Don't fall for the yearly ""service"" plan. It's almost impossible to schedule a service appt and they will cancel MULTIPLE times. Our ac checked out great (once they finally came out) but now have to have another company come look at it since it hasn't worked right after they did a ""routine check up"" also, our tech made it very clear that they work on commission.....

I really can't recommend Bacon after this most recent experience. Was having an issue with my doorbell so I called them to come check it out since I have the plan. They sent Dwayne out. He did absolutely no checking or diagnostics even though I asked twice to have it done. His only response was ""I'll have to charge you for that"" to which I said ok. I showed him where the chime box is and told him I keep hearing buzzing from the box. He immediately told me the whole system had to be replaced. Without even checking the transformer or anything. Once in the garage where the transformer is, he then tells me I need a whole house surge protector to keep this from happening again. Keep what from happening? You didn't check anything out to know what the problem was. Oh the final straw was when his apprentice handed him the old transformer, he smelled it and said ""hmmm, doesn't smell burned out, oh well"" So he charged me $738 for a new doorbell chime, transformer and surge protector. About $100 worth of parts. So $600 for literally 30 minutes of work? Do electricians really charge $1200 per hour for labor? Never again and cancelling my family plan.

STAY AWAY!! For a water heater repair they charged me a $40 service fee just to show up and not even take the cover off that has 4 screws. Their ""diagnostic fee"" is another $270 which took all of 30 minutes to tell me I had a bad sensor. Quote to come back and replace said sensor was $813. On top of that they recommended and quoted me a complete new system for $3500 and by the way quoted me (unsolicited) to replace my other perfectly functioning water heater for another $3500. I ended up buying the sensor online for $12 and replacing myself (removing 2 screws) which literally took me 7 minutes going slow. I really hope other companies are treating their customers better. Other than that the technician was nice and knowledgeable.....sales approach just completely unreasonable

Our rental property had a cracked pipe, which was causing backup problems, so we called Bacon. They had a crew come out and dig an 8' deep x 9' wide hole in our front lawn, and this was on Monday. When finished, they put up 3 short poles with tattered plastic around them, and put down 3 ply boards to cover this area. I called Vincent, a Bacon supervisor, to ask if the tenant could run water and was told he would call me back - he didn't. When I talked to him the next day, Tuesday, he said he called, but neither of us had a message from him. Their plumber, Chase, came out Tuesday as scheduled, and replaced the pipe. He did what he was supposed to do and told me the ""crew"" would be returning by the end of day to fill the hole - they didn't. We called on Wednesday to find out when this hole would be filled because of safety issues, and was told by the end of the day - it wasn't. My husband called Vincent, and did not get a return call. On Thursday, our tenant phoned us to let us know the hole was being filled, and this was around 5PM. Feedback is very important to us, especially since we had a tenant involved. Very pleased with the work Chase did, no problems so far, and appreciated his professionalism. The lack of communication/feedback did not sit well with us at all. Having an 8' hole in our yard with children in area, was not a good feeling.

I have used Bacon Plumbing for years without any issues. I contacted them during the February freeze for assistance w/ a frozen pipe. I understand this was an extraordinary event and that everyone is backed up...however, I received no communication at all following my messages. Since then I had everything repaired but needed them for other projects since then...I've left voicemails, emails, website inquiries and have heard nothing. I'm sure there's a legitimte excuse; however, nothing excuses the lack of communication.

My hot water heater burst during the 2021 freeze. I have a membership with Bacon Plumbing so needless to say, they were the first company I called for a replacement. The first and second day I called no one answered the phone which were business days of operation. Someone finally answered the phone on the third day and scheduled me an appointment 5 days from the call. The day of the scheduled appointment, no one showed up. I had to reach out to them to let them know that the plumber didn't show up, then they wanted to reschedule my appointment for 3 days later, which I found to be highly unacceptable. So they called me back and scheduled another appointment for the following day. The plumber shows up and charges me over $2579.11 for a Navien tankless water heater and $465.10 for the installation kit which included my 15% membership. At the time I believed that was overpriced. I also found out later that the installation kit was not needed. I eventually spoke to the supervisor Vincent who addressed my concerns and I was refunded $465.10 for the installation kit. Although I am satisfied with the refund, I still feel the tankless water heater was over priced and my rating reflects my thoughts about the entire experience.

So I used this company several years ago for a main sewer line break. They have always been pretty pricey but at the time had good customer service and I figured was worth the extra dollar. Fast forward to winter storm Uri when we need their services the most and they absolutely are price gouging and upselling people. My pipes had frozen during the storm and suddenly the washer has no water and the kitchen sink does not drain but is backing up. I called them for an inspection to see if a pipe burst under the house and they came out. They couldn't figure out the reason why the kitchen wont drain but quoted me $5000(discounted price from my friends and family membership) to replace all of my cast iron under my house. When I asked why and did they find the reason why things wont' drain, or if they snaked the line or a video, their reply was well cast iron is old and troublesome so we figure that is what is going on. I asked if they can first look in the line and determine if removing all my pipes is necessary. They said sure, but will likely send them Monday and will be starting at $100 just to look down one line. Not look at other pipes or of course fix the issue. But they could replace the one cast iron line for $3,200 if I wanted to save some money. I respectfully said no thank you and cancelled my subscription. I got another quote from a family owned plumbing business to replace all my cast iron underneath my pier and beam house for 1/5 of the cost since absolutely no digging is necessary and minimal cast iron is left from all of my renovations. Luckily, that wasn't what was needed, the plumber came out and found that it was a chunk of ice blocking the line and they melted it with hot water and cleared the line. The whole thing cost me $50 since it was 30 minutes of their time and simple to do. So disappointed in Bacon. Referred many friends but never again.

I have used Bacon multiple times in the 10 years they've been in business.
The first time was in 2012, as I needed a toilet installed. They did a great job for a very good price but since then they have went downhill. The next time was for the exact same service but in another bathroom but now the price was tripled plus he tried to get me to replace multiple things in a house that was only 2 years old, at that time. Then, I needed a sink installed and again, it was priced extremely high, as I found out afterwards. This was even with the Membership discount of 15%.. Now fast forward to last week during the Winter storm.. My hot water heater burst so I called Bacon, like always. I was quoted the normal $39 trip charge for them to come out but when he arrived, he said it was $100. Then he quoted me almost $6500 but would be knocked down to $5500 with my 15% discount, to replace the hot water heater, which I respectfully declined. I asked him if he could at least get the cold water back on, which he charged me $503 (remember, that's with a 15% discount) then he sliced the hose, placed a cap on it and said he's finished. It took him about 45 seconds to do all that & yet I was charged over $500. I guess their hourly rate is $30,000 per hour as that's what $500 x 60 minutes equals. I've since found another plumber to replace my hot water heater for a third of the price. I also plan to file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office, as price gouging is a crime during a declared disaster. If anyone else wants to, here is the Attorney General's information:

I had a scheduled appointment for 2/8/21 afternoon. I took a 1/2 day off of work so I could be there. I received a telephone call at 4:10PM cancelling the appointment. I would NOT recommend this company after this incident and one previous where I was charged a fortune for finding a small gas leak that was detected quickly
