I would have liked to get an estimate and maybe hire him for my kitchen remodel since he has such good reviews, but he refused to come and give me an estimate when he found out I was getting estimates from other contractors as well. He was willing but then said that was a problem when I mentioned I was scheduling everyone for the same day. I might add, none of them had a problem with that! He said he was ""too busy"" to come out if he had to compete for the job. Business must be good indeed.

We hired Ben to do a major remodel of our kitchen and a minor remodel of our family room. We got 3 bids and like previous reviews, Ben's was in the middle, cost wise. Our biggest concern was getting the kitchen done by Thanksgiving. Ben thought that he could easily do that depending on the cabinet delivery schedule. So, we started the process on Oct. 2nd of demoing the family room and the demo of the kitchen the next week. We worked with Marcie from Kitchen Kreations to design and order cabinets and counter tops. Working with her was a fantastic experience as she knows her stuff! She also hooked us up with the Tile Zone store for tile and kitchen flooring and with Carlos from Friedman's appliances for ordering our new appliances. Through Marcie we saved thousands of dollars!

Ben's biggest strength of having competent and hard working craftsmen (Luis-painter/plumber, Phil, who built us a beautiful fireplace mantel and did stucco and cement work, and the electrician Jose), became a weakness for us at one point, because of sickness. What I mean by this is that Luis caught the flu around the construction mid point and had to miss a few days. Because he was sick, some of the others couldn't do their work as scheduled as they were waiting for him to complete his. The schedule started to slip and even though the cabinets came in we had to delay the installation a few days, which looked like it was going to compromise the Thanksgiving completion. But Ben and Marcie's crews worked late and on weekends to make up for the lost time and we were up and fully operational on Thanksgiving day.

We had family in for a 15 year family reunion and they all loved the kitchen and family room. The remodels were a complete success. We have a 60 year old house, so we ran into more than a few problems (electrical, plumbing), but Ben was able to figure out a solid plan forward at a reasonable cost.

I almost forgot to give a shout out to his floor guy, Julian. Julian was able to put in high grade distressed wood flooring and carpeting at a great price. Go with Ben, you'll be glad you did!

I hired Ben Carr of BC Construction for a full kitchen renovation after getting bids from three contractors. While his bid was not the lowest one (it was right in the middle), I chose him because I liked his attitude and he was the only one who seemed to really understand what I wanted to accomplish.

Ben said from the beginning that he would be able to figure out anything that came up, and he did. He was very good at problem solving while keeping the cost as low as possible. And he made sure that I was satisfied with the way everything turned out and I am a bit picky, especially with the finishing details. (I would like to note that I did my own painting.)

I have a mid century house with a tiny kitchen, so this project was a challenge to make good use of every inch available. The transformation was amazing. I really love my kitchen now! It's functional and beautiful and probably the nicest one in the neighborhood.

The only negative I could mention was that the project took longer than I thought it would. But still I have no regrets about hiring Ben and his crew. I would definitely hire them again. And if you're looking for an honest, reliable and skillful contractor, call BC Construction.

Based on my previous review of BC Construction, my thoughts are the same...no need to go any further when looking for a contractor. Ben is simply the BESTEST !

We hired B.C. Construction to perform a full kitchen remodel. We also had B.C. Construction install new hardwood flooring throughout the entire house. Ben was really easy to work with. He is a true construction professional with a free spirt. Ben has an eye for design and is willing to provide suggestions and recommendations. My wife describes him as artsy meets handy. All of B.C. Construction's subcontractors are professionals as well, especially his floor guy Julian. Ben is very responsive to emails and texts, which made it very easy to communicate when you work full-time. Ben, his crew, and subs are all trustworthy. He and his crew were always prepared for inspections. The most impressive aspect of B.C. Construction, was that Ben was really responsive to our issues after final inspection and receipt of final payment. Most contractors will not bother coming back to fix issues after final payment! Overall, B.C. Construction did an excellent job and we are very pleased with their work. We look forward to working with Ben in the future!

We had Ben come out to finish some work around the house, install new moulding and paint. The work around the house was done well but the paint on the other hand was a little tough. It was a constant conversation with the painters to make sure the lines were straight and the outside windows were not finished, even though it was part of the quote and still have not been finished. Our moulding and such turned out great, just as a fair warning - consider bringing in your own painters.

My wife and I hired Ben and his crew to do a complete kitchen remodel in our Redondo Beach home, which included:

-Refinish and painting of cabinets
-New kitchen tile
-New countertops
-New backsplash

The job also included some reconfiguring of appliances, installation of new fixtures and cabinetry relocation to suit our needs. Let me just say, we were both extremely happy with the finished product! Its now been 2 months since we had the job completed and we wouldn't change a thing! Our cabinets were painted white and they look absolutely fabulous with no flaws discovered even at this point. Everything was done with the utmost professionalism and care...in some cases even surprising me with the level of detail in some of the paint work. The tile work is some of the best I have ever seen and done very thoroughly as well. This included the installation of a cement ""float"" to ensure the floor was completely flat prior to the tile install. It came out perfect, with no raised tiles or uneven lines! Everything about this job was done very well and with the utmost care to ensure the outcome was as close to perfect as possible.

I also appreciated the level of care the guys put into blocking off the kitchen during demo in order to prevent the spread of dust and paint!

Ben can come off a bit ""flighty"" sometimes (serious SoCal surfer vibe) during the actual construction phases, but overall his communication throughout the renovation was excellent. He gave us an upfront price on the labor and was fair if things came up that weren't in the original bid. On top of all that, he will respond to emails, texts and calls very promptly, although briefly in some formats...but good correspondence is important when a good chunk of money is involved.

My wife and would both highly recommend Ben and his crew to anyone looking to have some reno work done in the future...as we will most likely have him do our bathroom in the future as well!

Through a referral from my realtor BC Construction was hired for a kitchen upgrade project. Contrary to stereotypes, Ben Carr promptly returned my call, scheduled an appointment to view the property and was prompt with his comprehensive bid. His subs performed top notch quality and workmanship, were pleasant and considerate of our home and property. making sure to leave it in as livable a condition as possible. When the job was done, everything was clean and tidy. Ben was very accommodating and helpful in ideas and making a first timer in construction less stressed. He took the time to keep me up to date on the status of the work and to ensure 'customer satisfaction'. Having little for comparison, I would have to say his price for the quality of work was well worth it. I would recommend BC Construction any time. Thank you Ben!

We had our deck extended, and B.C. Construction did an excellent job. The work is of highest quality, and was done quickly. The cost was reasonable and they were personable.

B.C. Construction did a great job on several projects around my house--installing new windows, building a walk-in closet with a pocket door and a new wood patio cover. Pricing was very competitive and the workmanship was great. I'll also add that the owner, Ben Carr, was hands-on throughout the entire process and brings a ton of knowledge to the job, which is great as some companies just send workers and then you never see them again. I plan to have my kitchen and bathroom remodeled soon and will definitely use B.C. Construction again. I recommend them 100%.
