We had an issue with a breaker on our electric panel and a general contractor referred us to Rick at B & B Electric. Rick came out quickly and was able to diagnose the problem and offered several solutions. Because we had a fairly dangerous Zinsco Panel, we decided to replace and upgrade the entire electric panel as well as relocate it. Rick is fast and professional. His work is very clean and attractive and he scheduled and met with the city inspector for our permit. He even worked with our home warranty provider to help cover some of the repairs.

A few weeks later when I was having issues with my pool pump, he came out quickly and diagnosed and repaired the electrical system for the pool. His repair included changing the voltage of the pumps which should reduce the cost of operation. Very smart!

I highly recommend Rick and B&B. Professional, clean, and fast. On top of that, he is a very, very nice guy.

What can I say? Rick is the MAN!!

We were without power to a portion of our house for two days and after pretty much taking the house apart and going crazy trying to fix it myself I hit a wall. I called up Rick on a Sunday evening and he was at my place in less than 30 minutes and fixed the problem in no time. Not only did he troubleshoot our problem but he gave my son and I some great lessons in electrical work. I highly recommend him!!

Rick and Chris were EXCELLENT! We had a short circuit in our house, and I had troubleshot it as far as I was capable. Rick and Chris came in and listened to my explanation of the problem, what we were doing at the time, then dove in and started troubleshooting! They were far more thorough than I was, including going into the attic crawl space looking for signs of burned wiring. They were able to trace the problem down to a wire that I had excused as ""ok"", with better technology. Testing and repair and we are back in business, for less than I originally thought it would cost us!

Rick was professional and did an excellent job. Rats got into our attack and chewed on our wiring. Rick had to cut a whole in our vaulted ceiling, repair the wire, patch the sheet rock, and paint. By the time he was done, you would not have known there was a previous hole in the ceiling. A little on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for. It was nice not to have to coordinate a sheet rocker and painter and be done in 2-3hrs. We would hire him again.

I hired B&B Electric to install a dedicated outlet for my electric car and to install some lights around the home (porch light, lights in front of garage etc.). It was expensive but Rick (the owner and main electrician) talked about the quality of his work to justify the higher than average prices. Based on reviews here I decided to go for it. The work was done in a timely manner (this was about 6 months ago). I used LED lights that he recommended.. when I asked him for receipts at the end of the project, he laughed at me and said he didn't provide receipts for individual components (I told him this was insulting - the laughing part - and he apologized).

About two weeks later, I started having trouble with the porch light. I emailed him and he switched out the LED bulb and it seems to have fixed the issue. However, about three months ago the porch light stopped working and another exterior light (installed by B&B) started malfunctioning (goes on and off randomly). I emailed Rick and he was very slow to respond. We've exchanged emails since then - the last was over a month ago - but the end result is , its been 3 months and both these problems still exist. Excuses don't work in the real world.. he's said the he's very busy. Those who are considering him, keep this in mind.. he will be too busy to fix problems arising from his work - as is evidenced in my case.

I replaced the bulb on the porch light with a CFL and the bulb blew out in 3 days. So there's clearly something wrong with the installation performed by Rick.

Since I don't have receipts for the LED bulbs (these are very pricey), I cannot go and use the warranty to replace these. The electric car's charging outlet is also giving me intermittent problems now.

So overall, it seems like the work was not of good quality. I waited a while to post this review to give Rick enough time to fix the problems. I figure 3 months is long enough. I don't expect Rick to fix the issues now. He charged me quite a bit for this project and I'm very disappointed with the results.

Excellent work by B&B Electric. When I had an electrical short sparking with flames inside my home, B&B Electric returned my call and made an appointment with me immediately. B&B identified the root-cause of the problem to a cable that had come loose on my range hood and was sparking against my cooktop which could potentially have caused a major fire. B&B measured and advised me on replacement of the cooktop & range hood, brought the materials to my house and installed both items perfectly. B&B is a pleasure to work with, on time for work and on budget - overall very professional. Will be using them again and am recommending them to my friends, family and fellow Yelpers.
