Hired Roy to install an EV and two outdoor cameras. Initial communication was great, he came and gave me a price of ~$450-500 for the EV installed in one wall in the garage + $120 per hour for the cameras. Any service call was minimum 2h altogether, which would be covered with the EV alone.

I paid the permit with his name on it and asked for a date. He came again to assess the work once more, and this time he said that $450 would be in the wall where the panel is. The wall that we had previously discussed would now be closer to $800 because of extra materials and labor. We agreed on the wall of the panel + $120 per hour for the 2 cameras.

The day of the installation everything went great. he was very efficient. Roughly 2.5h for the EV and 1.5h altogether for the cameras + one extra outlet I asked him to install (that took him 10 mins). Very high quality work.

The surprise was when I received his bill where he charged me $120 for each camera and $120 for the extra outlet. When I told him it was not what we had discussed, he got very angry and said it was a very good price and I wouldn't get it cheaper anywhere else. All this via text message. He didn't take my calls and refused to discuss this with me. And he sends invoices with a company that will charge $10 per day if you don't pay on time. This was unfortunately very unprofessional on a job that otherwise would have been 5 stars.

Overall, work and quality is very good, and I would probably use him in the future, but learned my lesson that I will get everything write down on paper how he is going to invoice us ahead of time.

How are used Azul Electric a few times and I have been happy with the work each time. He is on time, a great person to work with and does great work. Just recently even though he was very busy, we had an issue that could have been caused by loose wiring and he came out very quickly and fixed the issue. Will definitely use Azule again.

Had an issue with an Zinsco electric panel that was arcing bad and creating a fire hazard.
Roy from Azul responded quickly to my call (he asked i text info) and promptly addressed my inquiry.
Its almost impossible to get an electrician within a few days in Tahoe...much less a high quality outfit like Azul.
He rearranged his schedule and got a completely new service panel installed within that week.
Great guy. Really impressed with neatness and attention to detail. He also had a great relationship with the city inspectors and power company.

They are a great and very responsible company. Our six plex main electrical box got on fire. We called them, they showed up the same day. They had to order the main electrical box, since it was not an off the shelf item. As soon as they got the box, they removed the box, got the permit and replaced it under the stormy and freezing temperature. They also removed and replaced the electrical cable to the power company. They worked late outside until the job was completed.
They charged us very reasonably. We highly recommend them. Great job.
