When we learned very quickly that electricity was something best left to the experts, Felix was our first call--and our only call. We had planned to get bids from several electricians, but once we met Felix at Aztec Electric, we stopped searching. Not only was he prompt, honest, and very courteous, he was also extremely professional and great team! Felix was very upfront with project costs and time, and had everything done well ahead of what was promised. Aztec Electric even sent us a thank you note in appreciation for our business. It's really rare to find this level of work ethic (and commitment to a job well done) these days.

Good:
1) Cheapest quote for 200A electric panel upgrade & connecting a new circuit that was already wired to the garage to the new panel. His upfront cost from the beginning was $3,400 flat rate without any haggling (and that was too much for the service quality he provided).
2) Chiseled out existing panel box to avoid opening up wall more reducing fix up work by next contractor.
Bad:
1) Took over *7 months* to get the job done. I was unable to use my new stove/oven this entire time.
2) He was mostly unresponsive over those 7 months regularly disappearing
3) he lied that PG&E was to blame for the delays. I finally reached out directly and they indicated that they gave the ""Okay to Serve"" in September , he just never said anything about it and left it hanging. He ultimately admitted he was actually doing other projects and had essentially just ghosted me, but would be available in January and so I finally just pushed it through because he frankly was so cheap.
4) Did a very sloppy job wiring the new cable to the panel. stapled the cable varying distances from the wall, loose so it was hanging from the ceiling and over a semi-temporary, fixed cable making it harder to retroactively fix the installation. The cable could have easily been affixed to the existing electrical conduit, or at least been done closer to the wall. When asked about it, he indicated that nothing in the code required it 'looking nice'. Apparently craftsmanship doesn't count for anything.
5) Did a very sloppy job patching the roof. He did suggest having an inspector come by afterwards because his team are not roofers, which I appreciate - but it was also a pointedly bad job that's going to immediately leak and will need to be redone. It would've been better to have been upfront that I'd need another contractor to come by the next day so I could've scheduled appropriately. He did indicate from the beginning that his team would not be able to redo the box around the panel afterwards and that I'd need someone else to come by.
You get what you pay for - he's very cheap, but slow to respond and work quality wasn't great.
I do appreciate that in his flat rate he did add in the extra work - but it was part of his quote and if he is including it as part of his quote (not a last minute 'freebie') then

Contacted Felix with Aztec to get some rewiring done. He was in touch a bit but then told me he would call me to schedule in the afternoon today. No call back and no further communication from him. Definitely hire someone else. Very unprofessional and rude.

These guys were so great. I had a big electrical issue that was figured out and solved all in one day. Thank you so much. These guys are honest and personable.

Felix did a great job upgrading my electrical panels. He did it quickly and professionally. He was responsive and easy to work with. His rate is reasonable. Highly recommended.

Very responsive to messages and very honest. Let me know that the issue I was having would be fixed be PG&E for free.

We had a 1952 2000 Sq ft single story ranch with aluminum knob and tube. Hugo and Enrique upgraded the old wire to Romex, replaced all the dated receptacles, and switches, added recessed and art lighting, and rerouted the all the 220 V (baseboard heaters, dryer, car charger, oven) to our 200 amp main panel. He also fixed the kitchen wiring so the breakers no longer trip when we run the microwave. It took about two weeks to do the entire job.
First of all, he is the neatest contractor I have ever had in my house. His tools and supples are always neatly tucked away when he leaves the job site. He covers the furniture, and vacuums up with a shop vac after every room was complete.
He is very knowledgeable of how houses were made 70 years ago. I expected to have to do major patching and painting, but there were only three small holes during the entire job.
Our job was also a mixed space of crawlspace and concrete slab, and he was able to rewire both spaces.
His bid was very competitive and he came to the site twice prior to beginning work so that he had a good idea what we wanted.
We did change some of the project midstream - we added some fans, and more outlets, so there was a reasonable adjustment to the initial bid, but that was expected.
I would use his crew again in a second. I finally have my go to electrician.

Great service and very honest! Tried to resolve by phone but unfortunately was a bigger issue. Much appreciated! Felix, you rock!

Said he wanted to start early and said 10am was fine- he did not give a time window. I called him at 10:23am and reminded him I had to leave by 12 which he said was fine. He said it would be 5 10 minutes.
I called again at 11:25am straight voicemail. He never showed. I was polite and patient. yelp says he lives in Half Moon Bay but that's just a PO Box. Then he writes back just now and say he was there a little after 11 but my gardening crew said I had left. My cameras picked him up and his truck at 11:35am- no later.
