Founded in 1987, we initially focused on commercial services. As our reputation expanded, we began to see an increase in requests for residential services. After establishing our residential division, we soon discovered our ability to thrive in this sector and provide outstanding service in an industry that was lacking. Not long ago, we celebrated our 29th anniversary in business. As a locally owned and operated company, we aim to stay that way, with family members prepared to uphold our expanding legacy.

I gained most of my knowledge and trade experience during my time in the Navy aboard the USS Constellation CV-64. While in the engineering division, I had ample opportunities to engage with plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical systems. Upon finishing my service, I decided to follow my entrepreneurial dreams and started Aux Mechanical.

Called and requested an electrician. When asked why time would be better to come out tomorrow I told them afternoon. They called me in the morning and I told them I said we needed the afternoon yesterday. They said okay will notify you when he's on his way. They called me at 2:38 and said no one could come out today. Not cool at all!

First let me say that the technician did repair the problem ( an electrical switch that needed rewiring) but my problem is with the amount the company charges for their services. We were caught in a situation where this repair needed to be fixed for a home closing and AUX was the only company that could come out in time. We had no idea of the cost of the repair until it was finished and it was astronomcal! The repair was made
correctly but it was triple the cost of a normal electrician. BEWARE!!

Caleb gave us the price up front, showed up when he promised, did the work as promised, explained things as he went, even gave us a quote on some work that needed doing and left some material on other services available. Great price, great service.

James O. performed our annual plumbing inspection and did a great job. He performed the work in a timely manner, but paid very close attention to detail. He definitely respects your home and makes sure it's clean before he leaves. I also appreciated him being brief and to the point on the findings. He offered recommendations, but never tried pressure me into any unnecessary repairs. Would definitely recommend James.

My company had two HVAC units under service contracts with AUX. One of them finally died. Obviously AUX mechanical then sold a $8,000+ HVAC unit to my company. During the sales process, despite the fact that I explicitly asked the financing to be under my LLC (as required for tax and liability reasons) it was placed under MY NAME. Keep in mind that MY COMPANY actually had the contract with AUX - not me. They had my FEIN and my DBA but the unit was STILL financed under MY NAME.

There was a good reason for this: Wells Fargo was the financial entity and AUX was misusing a WF consumer home loan product to finance a commercial HVAC unit. When I called Wells Fargo to try to move them move the loan from my name and into my LLC's, Wells Fargo was horrified that this product was being used this way and IMMEDIATELY abandoned the loan. That left AUX without a way to finance the unit.

My attorney told me this was their responsibility and to get an answer from AUX about how they planned to resolve the issue. When asked about financing I was given the runaround - passed from person to person - each inventing odd ways to avoid responsibility for the issue. When asked to speak to the owner I was told the owner ""did not take phone calls.""

At this point, I contacted the state of Alabama consumer protection division (a lone individual) literally said ""One school of thought might be that you have a free AC unit..."" Of course I had no intention of taking an $8000 unit for free. My company was in the market for a new unit and intended to pay for it. But AUX for their part refused to explore alternate financing options. In the end, Regions took over the financing thanks to the effort of my diligent and knowledgeable account manager. He really saved the day.

So we let AUX off the hook. And on the advice of my attorney I deducted the origination fee from the amount owed. AUX (over the phone) agreed that this was fair and that the amount would be honored. Of course the person who arrived to claim the check refused to take a penny less than the original total. He left unhappy. I had the presence of mind to make sure the check was labeled ""final payment"".

Lastly I was told by the head of sales at AUX that the sales team was now being ""educated"" in the proper use of commercial vs consumer financing. He implied but did not state that this was required by Wells Fargo to continue selling their financial services. Regardless, look elsewhere. You can do better. Don't be their next victim.

After being promised they would come out today because of a plumbing problem (I called in the morning). They called at 5pm and said unfortunately they cannot come out. At least have the decency to say when called ""we are too busy today"". Don't leave me on the hook until everyone goes into overtime. Poor business practice. I would never trust these people with any projects.

These guys are dishonest! We have the unit cleaned late spring and early fall each year. We paid for a preventive service prior to the summer. This year we chose AUX because of their convincing sales pitch about preventive maintenance. BIG MISTAKE!We received a green light that the unit was in good working order and no problems identified. Our unit went out on Sunday. We called AUX and they came out on Monday. The tech told us that it would be more than $4,000 to repair the unit...a burned out compressor. We called for a second opinion on Tuesday and it was discovered that the coils were dirty, lots of debris (leaves, etc.), and no evidence that the unit had been cleaned this year. Because they did not do a cleaning as they were paid to do. The compressor burned up. We spoke to Mr. PJ Smitherman at AUX and informed him of the situation. We paid for preventive service in order to avoid problems and they did not perform the service leading to a costly repair. He takes no responsibility, offers no resolution, and was extremely to deal with. Be warned...just don't deal with them.

Never call these crooks!!! If you think you received a good deal then you didn't get a second opinion and were robbed. $793 quote for a $120 part that wasn't even the problem! An additional $533 for $20 part that was the problem! That's one heck of a labor charge don't you think? A friend got the old part working until it could be replaced the next day. That's right, we went all day in the sweltering heat, when he got it working in less than 5 minutes. We even had a financial advisor coming out the following week to quote us on what a new unit would cost. That meant leaving our paid vacation a day early so we could be robbed by an upstanding company. I have never felt so foolish in all my life! These people should be ashamed!!!!!

Caleb was professional and very polite and a pleasure to to business with. I never felt pressured and I could sense his honesty and sincerity. He is a very hard worker and stayed with the job until it was complete and made sure that I was informed at every step and that I was completely satisfied with his work and the excellent results. I highly recommend this young man to anyone who is looking for a tech to do their repairs. He respects your home and makes sure it's as clean if not cleaner when he leaves than when he arrives. Thanks so much Caleb!!!

RE: COMPLAINT

On Wednesday, January 25, 2017, I called your company to request a service visit, since I had seen several commercials on TV as you advertised for plumbing, electrical and HVAC needs.

Bobby arrived and I showed him the following areas and asked him to inspect, diagnose and give me a price for services rendered by AUX:
PLUMBING:
1. The pipe(s) behind the washer machine
2. The tub leaked downstairs
3. The face bowl had been stopped up for a while (I already had the part)
4. The kitchen faucet
ELECTRICAL:
1. The bulb in the bathroom would blow after a week's time or a little longer
My question was could I have an electrical shortage?
HVAC:
1. Service it

DIAGNOSIS:
PLUMBING: Bobby stated some pipes needed replacing, a new toilet
ELECTRICAL: Bobby stated that two breakers needed replacing
HVAC: Layne stated he cleaned the mother board, replaced the condensation unit, and replaced the thermostat

Bobby stated my total bill was $4,812.00 of which $974.00 for the HVAC services. Since AUX didn't complete all services, they returned on Thursday, January 26th. I paid $4,000 in cash and charged $812.00.

When Bobby arrived Thursday morning, I asked him if Layne replaced the HVAC filter. Bobby checked and Layne did not change the filter nor clean the filter area. Bobby vacuumed, cleaned the area and replaced the filter (I already had).

Around 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26th, I noticed the weather temperature dropping so I turned up the thermostat temperature and around 10:00 p.m. I called AUX to report the fan never came on. They sent Chris, the HVAC tech. After inspecting the HVAC unit, he stated that it was the relay switch. He stated that since the unit is so old, it takes a minute for the unit and the heat pump to connect, and he said that he didn't mean any harm but Layne should have called a senior experienced tech before he serviced the unit. Chris also had to re-vacuum the unit. He said he would have the HVAC supervisor come to my house on Friday, January 27th. He left around 12:15 a.m.

When Brandon arrived Friday morning, he inspected the unit, told me that the unit was so old and agreed with Chris and apologized that Layne should not have serviced the unit, by repairing/replacing parts. Brandon offered me a new heat pump and unit for $8,000.00. When I explained to him I didn't have that amount of money, he offered me to purchase just the unit, since I told him the heat pump was just 2-3 years old. He said he would go back to the office to talk with the owner and suggest the $974.00 I paid for the HVAC service, plus include some of parts costs, equaling $2,500.00, could go toward the $4,400.00 cost of the unit.

Brandon called me back around 1:00 p.m. to ask me if I had decided on an answer. I told him no, because I had not had time to think due to babysitting. I told him to give me the weekend to think about it and call me back Monday. Around 9:30 a.m. Monday, January 30th, Brandon showed up back at my house (without calling first) and asked me if I had decided if I was purchasing the unit. I told him that I was more interested in getting everything I paid for was completely repaired. I told and showed him the new toilet was loose and the electrical still had a shortage somewhere because I purchased new ceiling fan bulbs, and when I replaced it, it did not come on. Brandon said he would have Bobby and the Electricians come back to my house to repair them. Bobby came around 12 noon and after examining the toilet, he apologized that the screw(s) had come lose and he forgot to seal/grout the toilet. He stated he should have checked behind the apprentice. I showed Bobby the ceiling fan and he checked the light switch on the wall in my bedroom. He said there was a loose hot wire, and all he had to do was tape it up. As soon as he finished, my home phone and WiFi service stopped working. He checked the wall outlet in the next bedroom, there was no power, he checked up in the attic, he checked the outlet by the window and it had power. Bobby told me the Electricians would have to come to inspect why there was a shortage. He contacted the office and told me that the Electricians could not come Monday, but could come Tuesday, January 31st, around lunch or a little after 12 noon. I told him I had a 9:45 a.m. doctor's appointment and I would call them as soon as I left my appointment. I called Brandon around 6:30 p.m. apologized for calling and I informed him on the status of my home phone & WiFi not working and that Bobby said the Electricians would come Tuesday.

I called Brandon and told him I was leaving the doctor and would be home in about 20-30 minutes. He said, ""Ms. Steele I'll come and we'll make sure we take care of everything because I want you to be satisfied."" After arriving home by 11:30-12 Noon, I waited until 5:00 p.m. since no one showed up or called. I called Brandon (from my neighbor's phone) and texted him twice to inform him that my
