Had them replace a Federal Pacific Fuse Box - Chris was very helpful and gave me updates on the service, and were even able to get the work moved up a few days when the city turned off the electricity sooner than we'd hoped.

I'm really torn on Austin Electric. On the one hand, once everything was done it was really nice...while it lasted. On the other hand getting an email or call returned is just this side of impossible.

My wife and I had Allen install some under cabinet lighting. Although there were some hiccups along the way with his employee, Allen stood by his work and the lights were great. Now it's about a year later and two of the fixtures have failed. I don't think it's necessarily the install but I need Allen to at least answer his phone and take a look. I've been trying to reach him for a week but I have a feeling that when we have an anniversary dinner party this weekend nobody will be asking for referrals on the electrician that installed our lighting since it will look pretty terrible.

We had Allen at Austin Electric replace some ceiling fans in our office with track lighting. They did a great job, showed up on time, worked quickly, left no mess, and even helped us open some AC vents while they were here (we have very high ceilings and no ladder of our own).

Kris stopped by and was very friendly and helpful. When he couldn't fix the problem the day he came out be/c the breaker was across town, he came back the very next morning and had it fixed by 9am.

Definitely recommend these guys!

Yelp requires I give at least a star; I would not give not 1 star. POOR customer service! I left two messages. The second message was a follow up from the first. Not once did I get a call back from this company. I would not recommend this company despite the 5 star ratings from other postings.

Just had an awesome service experience with Austin Electric. They were able to give me a quote over the phone and quickly get more on the schedule. Billy came out and gave me an honest opinion about what work would be entailed in one of my projects so I could decide if it was worth the cost. He also wrote down a detailed description of items that I needed so I could run to Home Depot and pick them up myself. When Home Depot did not have exactly what he specified, he was able to rig together a solution that works beautifully and looks great as well. Billy was incredibly fast and personable and I loved having him in our home. The price was more than fair and had me questioning why I had waited so long to make some needed repairs. Definitely an all around home run- responsive, quick, excellent service, great pricing and quality work. What more could you ask for? Would not hesitate to call them again.

I left a message with Allen and he returned my call promptly. Billy came out to help me install over 25 wall switches and helped me diagnose a problem with a kitchen light fixture. He was on time, polite, courteous, and did great work. Installing all of those switches takes considerable time, and I had to run an errand that couldn't wait while Billy was here. I had 100% trust in him being at my house alone while I was gone. He'll be the man I call for any future electrical needs.
