Our home had a Generac 22KW generator installed by Matt M. and his co-worker Randy at Auburn Solar in Auburn, CA, in April of 2020 by the previous home owner who also bought the 10 year warranty package.
We bought the home 1 year later and the Generac electrical box mounted inside the garage on the wall fell away from the wall because it was secured with 1 screw into sheetrock.
Matt M. came out and said, ""Oh I remember this install; Randy did that box install, I did the technical work. We ended up firing Randy because he was a poor worker. I will fix it since you are under full warranty. Then when Matt realized Randy had mounted the Generac electrical box directly behind the home electrical service panel and he could not put any screws in to secure the Generac box without drilling into the home electrical box, he stopped. Matt said he would have to figure it out and then said the Generac electric panel box should have been installed on the adjacent wall, about 1' away.
Now, in fairness, Matt also serviced my actual Generac generator and said when he fixed the Generac electrical box he would invoice me for the completed job, even though I offered to pay him on the spot. That was about 1 month ago and after several calls Matt has completely ""ghosted"" me. I even called and said, ""Matt, please call me. I want to get this fixed and I am willing to pay. Don't put me in a position to have to call Generac. I gave him another week and still nothing.
I called Generac they apologized and told me their installation work is not guaranteed and that is up to the actual installer. They confirmed my Generac is under full warranty until April 2030. They reached out to Matt, he promptly answered their call and told them he was just too busy to fix my problem and referred me to other installers to fix his work. Really?
The irony is, I figure it may have taken him a couple hours to fix their installation error. We showed him plans for another home we are getting ready to start construction on, on our property. We discussed wanting sufficient solar panels to power both homes as well as another Generac for that home. He could have secured a considerable job... Now, not a chance in hell we would use him.
A company that does not stand behind their work is not one I would ever use nor recommend to anyone.

If you are looking into or researching solar for your home or business, look no further!!! This family owned company has the very best pricing, (they don't advertise) and are extremely knowledgeable. Rick and Peggy Matson are owners of this family owned business, and we could not be happier. They have been in business for longer than most companies in the area. They installed 39 panels on our home approximately 8 years ago and another 10 panels this past year. If you are contemplating solar, I HIGHLY recommend giving them a call.

If you're looking to put solar on your house please go to Auburn Solar they are so awesome to deal with no playing around they're upfront and they do wonderful work ,beyond wonderful if there's a problem even a minor one they come right out and take care of it it's amazing they even have guys that will come out and clean your solar panels for you couldn't be happier with these guys they are awesome

I used Auburn Solar 3 years ago to put a large solar system on my roof. I got a great deal and quality components from a family run and owned company. I ended up doing pool solar at the same time I did the electrical solar and got a package deal. They took their time to design the layout on my roof so it looked good. I have recommended them to friends and family and so far 3 of them have used Auburn Solar for their homes too. Give them a call and get a bid. You will be glad you did!
