Recommended Customer Reviews

I'm an electrical contractor. I've been an electrician for 35 years, first 25 years focusing on higher end custom residential in Long Beach and Orange County. I know good work when I see it. We've been refreshing our house and we got the 2nd floor done a few months back and were saving up to do the first floor when a slab leak accelerated the timeline. So far I've fired 4 painting contractors, 2 HVAC contractors and 1 wallboard contractor for not doing what was asked, outrageous prices and really cruddy work. Ron's pricing was slightly higher than other contractors but I really wish I had hired him first. I would have saved a bunch of money by not paying to have garbage work fixed. For clarification, when I say ""cruddy work"" I don't mean ""just not as good as I'd like it"", I mean ""done wrong"". How are these people even in business?
Ron came in and has fixed all the garbage work the other contractors have done. Seriously, this is my house and all these other subs don't seem to care in the least, so long as they make about $1k/day. I'm not even sure the other subs even know how to do good work. Ron takes pride in his work and is not happy unless it comes out right. Ron's guys are clean, courteous and professional. Ron pays attention to what is important to us and makes sure it's right. He's not even done with the project but I'm confident enough in his work to start writing a review now.
Scope of work included fixing all the horrific wallboard repairs and texture, prepping and painting our 1990's kitchen cabinet frames, preping painting our ugly old hand rail, replacing sliding glass door, painting the first floor walls and cleaning up other trims and cabinets. Without exception, his work exceeds my expectations. On the few items I was not happy with (I'm a picky person) I mention it once and it's fixed. None of this reminding my contractor over and over and over again and them still not doing it. Ron keeps a clipboard and writes things down and then does those things. It's an absolutely amazing concept. Ron also shows up on the days he says he will and even gets there on time and everything. Other contractors seem to just show up whenever the heck they feel like it.
When the work is done and the contractors are paid, we are living in this home for decades to come and Ron gets it. Even if his quotes are a little bit higher than others, I say: hire Ron. It's going to be cheeper in the long run and he's the best value of any contractor I have hired on this project to date. A few years from now, I won't even remember a few extra bucks but I would be annoyed by crappy work for the rest of the time I live in the home.
Ron did not get the flooring contract or cabinets doors because my brother owns a cabinet company and a top notch tile setter referred by several GC's Iv'e worked with for decades was willing to work in corona. That said, I would have no problems giving Ron those contracts otherwise. Everything Ron does comes out great.
Photos forthcoming once the job is complete.
