Founded in June 2015, the founder of AMP'D ELECTRIC was born in Oahu and raised on Maui in the state of Hawai'i. After obtaining his associate's degree in electrical engineering, he transitioned to Texas to commence his apprenticeship as an electrician. After several years of hands-on experience with some of San Antonio's top electricians, he earned his Journeyman's license. During a downturn in construction, he faced a layoff and chose to follow his dreams by earning his Master’s license and starting AMP'D ELECTRIC. I came across somebody looking for a referral for an electrician. The first thing that came to mind was AMP'D Electric. We have a Home Warranty company that sent this company to fix our outlet issue in the guest bathroom which was also tied into the wall outlet in the kitchen and backyard lights and exterior outlet. He didn't have the proper GFCI for aluminum wiring so he put a regular outlet in its place. He said that a GFCI wasn't necessary. The technician left the damage GFCI that was replaced before he left. A few weeks later I was shampooing a carpet and the breaker kept tripping. I had to use a different outlet and called AMP'D directly and told them I was still having problems with the outlets in question. I was told that I would have to call the Home Warranty company a pay another $60 to get them back out. We called the Warranty company and they sent them back out free of charge. The same technician came out and he also happen to be the person who answered the phone when I called them about the issue. He came out and said he did what he thought would fix the problem on his first visit. I grabbed the original paperwork from his first visit and I asked him about the 2 parts he said he replaced. Remember he only left the damaged GFCI. He was trying to tell me that the breaker in the attached pictures was the new one he replaced. I don't know that I have ever been more insulted in my life. That breaker is the original to the house which is over 30 years old. Not sure how often this kind of stuff happens but please beware. That explains why I only received the damaged GFCI because the breaker was never replaced on his initial visit. He kept trying to tell me that the breakers get dirty and scuffed up traveling in the back of the vehicle. Looked like it had been in the back of his vehicle for over 30 years which happens to be the age of our house. I would have to say that I have no trust in the work that AMP'D tried to get by with when I needed them to do a honest respectable job. I have attached a picture of the actual breaker he finally replaced on his second visit. It's insulting enough to have him try and pass the original breaker as the one he replaced. It's even more insulting that he stated that we would have to call the Home Warranty company and pay another $60. Thankfully the Home Warranty company sent them back out here free of charge. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AMP'D to anybody. Ours was a small issue and I can't image using them on any type of issue after what I experienced with this company.
