I feel the need to leave this review because 6years ago we went with this company to install 4 Mitsubishi AC units around our house.
We have had issues with the units, had pseudo ""repair"" but were told it was due to placement, etc (which they played in part where to install initially) that is wasn't working well. And on top of that we had to wait so long for a part they told us was ""back ordered"" which I found out was not true when I contacted a Mitsubishi parts center in the mainland out of frustration. Not knowing any better we have dealt with it until this year because our investment in this system cost so much.
We found a different company to replace 2 of the units because they are not working anymore. But.. when they inspected our units we were told one of the outer units was a older model that wasn't in line with all the other units. Also we were told that we should have had a maintenance plan in place to keep the units running properly which the new company provides. This is something I had asked for over the years but was always brushed off as ""but it's working ya?"" We would have to charge you a ridiculous amount just to go there per hour. The new company actually explained certain things to do, watch out for, and their warranty is MUCH longer.
**I must mention as miffed as I am with the company, there are GOOD workers there who tried to help us as much as they could. You know it's not good when people start answers with ""Well............."" But of course by then we were already stuck.
Happy for all the people who got 5* experiences... unfortunately was not the case for me.

Been waiting for an update for a month to have something repaired. I, as the customer, have to constantly call to see what is the update. Called a couple weeks ago and was told I would get a call back. No call back. Called again today about 5 minutes before they were closing and was told I'll get a call in the morning. The person on the line was eager to hang up on me since I called right before they were closing. Even tho I called during business hours.

We selected Alternate Energies to do our PV Installation about 2 years ago and when we had trouble with our solar water heater, reached out to them again!

The crews are awesome---smart, friendly guys who know what they're doing. They were there 10 minutes before they said they would be there and were finished by shortly after lunch. They did a great, clean job!

Only suggestion would be that the crew ask the customer how hot they want their water to be The day after our install (Sunday), when our hot water wasn't super hot like my husband likes it to be we had to call for Tech Service. I called on Monday and the Tech came out on Tuesday and was able to fix the temperature to his liking in less than 10 minutes! Although not worth a STAR ding, it would've been nice to not have to go 2 days with tepid water.

I requested quotes from 3 local solar companies to repair an existing solar water heating system at my home. AEI returned my request quickly and was able to schedule a technician to come to my house to repair my system. I subsequently got 3 calls from AEI in response to my request for a quote and was a little concerned because of the poor communication within their office but decided to keep my appointment. I didn't understand why their call center employees didn't know that someone had already called me and scheduled an appointment. The morning of my appointment I get a call from the technician telling me that he hurt his hip and can't make it but will have someone from AEI call me on Monday to reschedule. I told him I was sorry to hear about his injury but wouldn't need to reschedule as I needed this job done as I was leaving the island for an extended period of time due to work. Truth be told, I was really irritated that he would call me on the day of my appointment to cancel instead of finding another tech to show up and I refuse to conduct business with companies who operate in an unprofessional and unacceptable manner. AEI doesn't care or understand that people rearrange their schedules and make accommodations to have things like this done and to just cancel appointments is a big nuisance. I won't bother to use AEI and I'll take my business to another company.

Appreciate AEI (Bruce) reaching via Yelp to follow-up on my post. At the time prior, we were in communication with an AEI Accounting Representative. A request for a copy of the service order that was rendered in 2018 but no copies were provided. AEI Accounting Representative was very understanding to our concerns with being surprised with a bill after 3 years and not being informed of a ""service charge"" at the time which deemed questionable from our standpoint. As result, per AEI Representative, the outstanding $157.07 (service fee + tax) will be waived/dropped. Feel very relieved to have this resolved and appreciate AEI taking the time to check and following-up on our billing concerns. =)

Alternate Energy has installed my PV back in 2012 and recently reinstalled my Solar Water Heater system in 2017.
Although they have downsize from their beginning. They still live up to servicing their equipment.
Everytime I call them about a problem with my PV install. They come to repair the problem asap free of charge. Most recently August 2021, they came to reinstall anchors and repair my crack roof beam.
