Brian came highly recommended by our neighbor. We had a very small project in our kitchen which he coached us through without needing to come to the the house. Awesome and very responsive.

I highly recommend Brian Kho and his crew at Alta Electric. Brian gave me an estimate for a number of jobs that I needed done at my home including installing an outlet for an electric car. He and his crew came when expected. They brought all the materials they needed and finished the job in a day. After they were done, they cleaned up. They were courteous and knowledgeable. I will definitely use them again if I have the need.

Brian really knows his job and is above all creative. This has saved the day for me through decades of owning really old buildings. It's great to have the Alta ""Khorus"" at work --, Brian and his sons get it done. Dave Brubeck Trio, anyone? Brubeck,, Ron Krotty (bass) and Cal Tjader....

I would absolutely not recommend Brian Kho for his dishonesty. He said he would charge $75 per hour plus $30 traveling fee when we talked on the phone. He charged $2000 for a day job. I had no idea how he came up with that amount. He never told me he would charge for each of his crew in the beginning. Then, he asked me $500 more because he would have to buy AFC I breakers for a panel. He said it's $60 per each in homedepot. It was actually $25 to $30 online. A few days later, he came to change the breakers and asked me $300 more for the materials and work but the breakers he bought didn't work on our panel so an hour work was not successful. I tried to keep the materials but he said he would reimburse me if he could take them back. He didn't send me a reimbursement.
I had no douth of his work until a few general contractors informed me that we didn't have to open up the ceiling to install a fire alarm for an existing building. Brian gave me a false information about the city building code for his business.
He texted me he would give me $1000 back if it was not done up to the code. He was bluffing. We went to the city building permit center and got the document about the existing building code and sent him the document. He sent me this ridiculous response, ""let's go to small claims court."" We are still investigating his other work and his qualification as an electrician.

I have had Brian do several jobs for me the past several years and have found him to be very professional and provide his services at a reasonable rate. Just last week I had an emergency situation and Brian was able to fit me into his schedule and get the job done in a timely manner. Brian can get busy so it is best to schedule in advance if possible.

Alta Electric was highly recommended by our contractor. Brian is a very pleasant, soft spoken man. He and his team have worked on three different projects at our house and I found them to be excellent. They were very quiet and the work looks great. I have been particularly impressed with Brian's ability to trouble shoot. Our 1914 home has had some mysterious issues (like losing power in one area of the home). Finding the source of problems in older wiring is challenging, but Brian has resolved several issues that other electricians could not. He is careful to bring things up to code as needed without selling unnecessary services. I trust him and frankly, it's a relief to know he is there when I need him. I always recommend him to my friends.

Well not much to say. Mr Kho is way too busy to check my electrical issues.
Until he has TIME he might come by.
I will contact someone else.

Brian Kho is outstanding. He showed up on-time and quickly took the list of changes we wanted: 8 outlets on 5 different 110 v circuits and a 240 outlet for an electric dryer. He was very clear on the way that he charged (per man hour) and the rate was very reasonable. He called his team and through strong coordination he and his two assistants worked very quickly. When there were questions about the placement of outlets - and a potential for cost savings by cutting less drywall or studs, he quickly asked for guidance. They completed all of the work just before lunch and he patiently showed & tested each outlet / circuit in addition to marking the panel and the sub-panel. He is fair, honest and fast!

Hi Adam I was delighted to do business with you. I've been charging $60 an hour per man for decades with a 2 hour minimum because of Giovanna uptown fender that's why I decided to do the job for you on Saturday with my very busy schedule ""the weekend before thanksgiving"" you can google to install and electrical outlet it costs around $200-$700 dollars and to install a 30 - 50 in TV bracket it costs about $299 dollars from best buy and I also installed the outlet for you HD MI cable that could cost around $200 dollars.I also installed a new TV cable for you that costed $150 dollars and repaired your doorbell that costed about $120 dollars the total of all the work that I've done for you costed only about $590 dollars which included labor and materials. I hope that maybe later on we could do some more business with you. Thank you much Adam and Karen

If you go with Brian, make sure that you get a written contract up front or you may wind up paying twice what you thought you would for a job.

We've worked with Brian before and he's done a good job in the past for a reasonable price. However, this last weekend when he came out, he surprised us. We asked him to mount our Vizio TV to the wall. He was great about fitting us into his busy schedule. Before he started, we asked him how much it would be. He kept telling us that he would be 'reasonable' but he was evasive giving us an actual quote. Finally, after we kept pushing him on the price, he told us it would be $60/hour. Based on our previous history, we told him to go ahead.

He mounted the TV and also fixed our doorbell. When he presented us the bill, it was for twice what he originally told us. He hadn't been clear that it wasn't $60/hour but instead was $60/hour/person and there were two people on the job. I would have been fine with that, had he actually communicated it before he started. To make things worse, he spent time trying to sell my wife and I on the replacement of our ceiling lights even though we kept telling him that we weren't interested at the time.

We are planning on replacing the ceiling lights now; however, we won't go with Brian again after what he pulled. As a business owner, he should represent his price accurately up front. Anything else is just dishonest and as a result he's lost us and everyone we know as a customer.
