October 22, 2015.
If anyone is looking for an electrical company to hang some light fixtures, DO NOT call Allstate. I made the mistake of calling them since they were working in a house across the street from my house, so I assumed they were legit.
They sent two guys over at 10 am, very nice guys, who hung 3 of my fixtures in the first 2 hours they were here. They left for lunch at noon and I went to Lowe's and bought 2 more light fixtures for the other closets. They returned and installed the other two fixtures and three light switches from 2:00 until almost 4 pm.
The guys left without even saying goodbye or leaving a bill, so I called Shane, the electrician, and he said they would mail the bill. When I got it, it seemed high, so I called the office. That's when I was told there was a third guy who worked for 3 hours. I called Shane to have him explain, and he said the third guy stayed in the truck, and supposedly drilled a hole in 3 of the fixtures. And for that I am charged 3 hours. For an electrician. Unbelievable. (I suspect he was working across the street.) Who allows their worker to sit in a truck for 3 hours and then pays him??
I was here the entire time and never saw or even hear about a third guy, but I was charged 6 hours for the 2 guys who were in my house a total of 4 hours, and 3 hours for a third guy to sit in the truck, totaling over $400. To hang 5 LED light fixtures in my closets that I purchased on my own.
Several phone calls later, Terry Jackson at Allstate stands by his invoice. Says it's a fair price. For who??
I give them 1 star only because the two electricians I met and worked with did a good job, but no more because they padded their time sheet. I will never call them again and I will not recommend them to anyone I know. Thanks for reading this all the way to the end.
