My roots trace back to Port Elizabeth, a coastal city in South Africa. Having an electrician for a father, I developed a fascination with electrical systems at an early age. After attending electrician school in London, I took on roles as an electrician and engineer on several megayachts around the world. After nearly ten years at sea, I chose to settle in San Diego and launch an electrical contracting firm. Entering the solar industry was a logical progression, and I have since focused on being at the cutting edge of the sector. We recognize that sunlight is not available around the clock, and to ensure a future driven by renewable energy, we need to prioritize energy storage investments.

Deirdre R.We saw that all of our neighbors were having solar installed, so we called three companies for bids. Simon of Allied Energy was by far the most professional and knowledgeable. It was not only his presentation of himself and his company that was compelling, it was the fact that he was the best at determining the best location for our ground mounted system. The design of the system for the date installed was also excellent - panels, optimizers on each panel, one inverter and a 20-year warranty on all parts including the inverter. Our system has now been up and running for one year (as of January 2017) and our total electric bill for the year was a negative $68. This tells me the system was perfectly sized for our house. After tax credits, we expect the break even point for our system to be between 48 and 52 months from the date installed. The neighbor who had Allied Energy install their system five years ago (and who recommended Simon to us) hit their break even point at the 49th month.
And on top of the numbers, Simon is a gentleman who knows how to run his jobs and he respects your property.
