Like others here, I was assigned All Safe by my warranty company. I had a GFCI outlet that burned up. I made the claim online on a Sunday, All Safe called on Monday and had someone out on Tuesday. So far so good.
The technician was at my home for about half a hour assessing everything. He said one of the wires had probably come loose on the outlet causing arching which then caused it to burn up. He initially said no problem, he could easily replace the outlet. Unfortunately when he looked closer he noticed that in the process the insulation on the wires had been melted off which meant the wiring needed to be replaced. This would entail removing sheet rock, etc. He complained a couple of times about what a difficult job it would be and even tried to convince me to just tape up the wiring and not have an outlet there. When I told him I wanted the outlet repaired he then said it was a two person job and that he would need to write a report to get it approved by the warranty company and that I would hear back from them by the end of the week to schedule the repair.
The short version is after calling All Safe a couple of times to get updates (they were always pleasant on the phone but never really had any information) I finally got a call from my warranty company almost two weeks later. The All Safe technician wrote in his report that the damage was caused because the GFCI was installed on a lighting circuit and should only have been installed on an outlet circuit. Therefore it was not covered because they do not cover improper wiring.
The problem is that this is a complete lie. There is not one light switch on the circuit. The GFCI was on a circuit of six outlets. He knew this because we looked at each outlet on the circuit together. He never once mentioned anything about it being on a lighting circuit (because it's not.) I'm convinced he lied to get ouf of doing the repair, which in turn screws me over. I could tell he really did not want to do it.
According to my warranty company the only thing I can do is hire another electrician on my own dime to dispute the report. If I successfully dispute it (and it's up to the warranty company to determine which report they will believe) then they will have All Safe or another one of their contractors out to do the repair.
Stay away from All Safe if you have a choice.
I had a scheduled appointment for 1-15-16. My window was 3:00-7:00. I made arrangements to be home by 3:00 and canceled other evening plans. I received a message at 11:39 a.m. on the day of my appointment stating that because of cancellations, they would be at my house in an hour. I called back at 12:00 p.m. and told them that was not an option. I teach school and cannot leave work without prior planning. I expected someone to be there from 3:00-7:00. I was told that because of the cancellations, the electrician had no other appointments except for mine. My appointment would be canceled. Not only is it extremely difficult to make appointments around my work schedule, but now I am being punished because of someone else's cancellation. I have also contacted my home warranty company to express my disappointment. If an appointment is made, it should be kept. I don't know if this is common practice, but it is absolutely shocking if a business can operate in this manner and still be successful.
Ron K.Very disappointed. I don't like leaving negative reviews.
I had an appointment for these guys to come do electrical work between 11 and 3pm. At 3:30 their office called and said the electrician was running late (no kidding) and would be there at 5:00. Nobody ever showed up. They didn't even bother to call to reschedule. When I called them the next day, I was told that the electrician had called me but there was no answer.
This is a lie. I had my phone with me the whole time and it never rang and there was no voicemail.
I killed a whole day of work waiting for these guys to show up. Now I have to kill another half day next week for them to come fix the electrical. I am not optimistic.
I have never written a negative review about any company before, but the receptionist that I
spoke to, called Vanessa, was so rude, unprofessional and inflexible that I need to write to
vent my frustration with All Safe. Read the other reviews. The electrician will not show up for the job and you will be wasting your time. Better to choose a more reliable, professional company that you can rely on. We wasted a whole afternoon waiting for an electrician who didn't show up; and then had to deal with the receptionist, Vanessa, who has obviously had no training in dealing with customers appropriately.
Not even sure how these guys are still in business.
My home warranty company assigned me to these guys (allegedly - I live in Houston, so not 100% sure if they have a presence here or not) to fix the light in my ceiling fan. Got a call from them today saying ""due to the severe rain and flooding in Houston, our techs won't be able to make it out to your property."" Last I checked, it was drizzling AT BEST. I waited weeks for this appointment only to have it cancelled.
Hate to leave bad reviews, but last I checked, light rain wasn't a reason why calls should be cancelled. I had to re-work my schedule to accommodate these guys coming (because of course they only give a 4 hour window, but to be fair, they said they'd call ahead).
Warning, do not use this company. AHS assigned this company for an electrical problem. They showed up hours late after the assigned time. Looked at the problem for a couple of minutes and left. I received no response for multiple days only excuses when I called and they would not return calls (meaning multiple days without power to a portion of the house). I selected another contractor and the problem was fixed in a couple of hours, the same day I called. Then after 5 months of no communication I received a past due notice for the service fee stating the work had been completed.
Colby M.I am going to add on to the other bad reviews. DO NOT use this company. Of course you will not be able to use them because they won't show up for the job. If you are assigned the technician Lee, then expect a phone call several hours after he supposed to show up saying that he is not going to make it and ""have a blessed day"". And God for bid don't ask off from work to wait on this company. You probably won't get that day off back. Oh, and yes this was assigned through my home warranty company. . . First American. Which probably isn't any better or worse than the rest. I will not be renewing my contract with any home warranty company. Good luck!
HsiaoCheng W.AHS assigned these guys for my electric problems as a second alternative. I decided to read reviews of another company AHS had initially assigned because I've had such bad experiences with AHS contractors (especially the plumbers). My research revealed the contractor they initially assigned had horrible horrible horrible reviews. So I asked if I could change contractors. All Safe didn't have great reviews but seemed to be a better pick of what was available (the best of the worst ... if you know what I mean). The guy who came out was nice unlike many AHS contractors, but like most AHS contractors he didn't do much. He said he'd check with AHS on my coverage and of course the repairs weren't covered. But unlike the other AHS contractors I've had come to the house, I actually agree with his assessment so I can't fault him for doing absolutely nothing. Another $75 service call down the drain. I give them 3 stars for decent attitude and being what appears to be an average company, but honestly I can't opine on whether they do a good job as they didn't really do anything.
The company came to my house to repair ceiling fans, the technician never told me the fan is not going to be covered with my Home Warranty Plan. He even asked me what type of ceiling fan is going to be replaced with. Then I receive a call from my Home Company & they stated my ceiling fan is not covered. Do not believe this company.
Andrew N.Horrible company to deal with. Make you wait for months or two then tell you they can't replace the part properly because it's not cover. They won't call to tell you they have a problem, you have to call them. Do not deal with this company...
