Stop searching other reviews, and call Karen now. Alexander Electric is the real deal...no BS, no lying, no missed appointments, no shabby work...just quick resolution of my non-working outlets, and a friendly tech to chat with (Mario thanks!), who didn't mind explaining everything to me as he went along. He even found several ways to save me some money, and still get everything I wanted.
Including a bunch of GFCI outlets, travel and labor, I paid less than $200.
I am certain you will be thrilled working with them!
Just like your doctor, your lawyer and your accountant, take the time to build a good relationship with your electrician...your life depends on it!

A huge thank you to Karen for being so helpful and kind. I recently lost my beloved husband, so taking care of any business had been difficult. Karen made it easy and was so accommodating. The price was fair and the results were genuinely amazing, thanks to Alex and his crew. No more overloaded circuits and non-grounded plugs plus a nice new ceiling fan and track lighting in the kitchen. Given the House is 83 years old, these fixes were huge for me. Alex was so kind and professional. The people and the results are truly incredible. Alex even pointed out the attic fans I had installed 2 years ago were inadequate to cool down my home. I am just waiting to receive his suggestion on how he can fix this problem before the heat arrives. Heat affects my health so I'm very happy he's going to help me. Thanks again!

Weeks late, 75% cost overruns, and not even a job well done.
Failed to anticipate risks from Dublin's building code that ended up costing me thousands of dollars. Then they claimed (repeatedly) that they had no way of anticipating this risk - as if in thirty years of experience (as they claim on their website and in their marketing materials) they've never spoken to a city inspector or bothered to look at the city ordinances.
Furthermore, they lost my initial records, requiring a requote that delayed the project by several weeks. And they didn't even really take the time to understand what I was trying to do. Admittedly, the last one is partially my fault - I should have checked that the cables they were running would work with my equipment - but they knew I was a first-time home owner and I feel that professional electricians should take the time to understand their customers' use cases to make sure that they were doing the right thing.
To top it off, after promising not to leave holes in my walls, they did. And the ""drywall contractor"" they recommended me to doesn't do dry wall.
Way to go, Alexander.

Alex and crew have worked on my home several times and always
have done an outstanding job. I highly recommend them to all

Second time I have used Alexander Electric. The employees who came to do the work arrived on time. In fact the company office called several hours before the arrival to alert me Mr. Munoz would be on time. Mr. Munoz was polite, asked a few questions and went right to work. He was knowledgeable and expertly completed his tasks, installing two new wall outlets very timely at a very affordable price. When he was ready to leave he cleaned up around his area of work - never knew he was here, other than 2 new outlets that looked like they had been there forever. In my estimation Alexander Electric will always be my go to Electrician..

Mario did excellent work and was careful not to make a mess. He was very knowledgeable and was very efficient in his task of adding more outlets in my office. If I ever need a electrician again I will definitely ask for Mario.
The reason for a lack of star is because they kept bumping my appointments for timing reasons ; I guess the third time is a charm or something. If they called to reschedule a third time I would have gone elsewhere for my electrical job.

Excellent service. Guys were super friendly and professional. Right on time and knowledgeable. They were even friendly with our boys and didn't brush them away because they were here to do work. Thanks for getting our new stove in and hood installed!

I cannot say enough about the customer service of this company. Karen always returned my calls and e-mails promptly. She worked with me to set up a time that was convenient for me. This was particularly important, since I do not live in the house or the city where the work was to be performed. The job was providing and installing new 220 circuit for dryer and 110 circuit for washer in a 64 year old house in Hayward. Brian, the electrician, came on time, knew what he was doing, and was very nice to work with. This was my first experience with Alexander Electric, but it will not be my last. The cost was reasonable. Good Job!

I hired these guys a few years ago to upgrade an old 100-amp service to 200-amp service. It involved installing a new disconnect outside of the garage with a new mast, running a cable to a distribution panel inside the garage, and working with PG&E to connect to the new service.
The work was done on time, but there were a few minor things that bothered me:
1. When the business owner came to see the house, he brought with him the guy that would do the work. They talked to each other like I was not there, even when I had questions. Even if you assume your customer is an idiot, don't treat them like they are, especially at their own home.
2. The electrician who did the work was careless about dropping drywall screws and nails on the garage and driveway. I mentioned this once, but it didn't seem to improve.
3. When making the hole for the cable to come through the garage wall, it looks like the primary tool used was a hammer. Yes, stucco over wire mesh is difficult to cut, but there are tools to do it neatly.
4. The boxes and circuit breakers they used were Murray, which is pretty much the chintziest that Home Depot sells. My fault, I guess, since I should have asked when I received the quote.
They did ok. The work was done on time and for the cost they quoted me. I just think they could be more conscientious in their work and more respectful of their customers.

Reliable, good prices, they do a great job. We've used them for several things on our house and on ouir two rental houses. They upgrade our electric panel, for one thing, and straightened out a mixup with our solar-panel company and the electric company.
Our go-to people for electrical work. In fact, they will be over our rental next week to check all our outlets and panels before we rent it out (safety first!)
