I cannot say enough about the customer service of this company. Karen always returned my calls and e-mails promptly. She worked with me to set up a time that was convenient for me. This was particularly important, since I do not live in the house or the city where the work was to be performed. The job was providing and installing new 220 circuit for dryer and 110 circuit for washer in a 64 year old house in Hayward. Brian, the electrician, came on time, knew what he was doing, and was very nice to work with. This was my first experience with Alexander Electric, but it will not be my last. The cost was reasonable. Good Job!

I hired these guys a few years ago to upgrade an old 100-amp service to 200-amp service. It involved installing a new disconnect outside of the garage with a new mast, running a cable to a distribution panel inside the garage, and working with PG&E to connect to the new service.

The work was done on time, but there were a few minor things that bothered me:
1. When the business owner came to see the house, he brought with him the guy that would do the work. They talked to each other like I was not there, even when I had questions. Even if you assume your customer is an idiot, don't treat them like they are, especially at their own home.
2. The electrician who did the work was careless about dropping drywall screws and nails on the garage and driveway. I mentioned this once, but it didn't seem to improve.
3. When making the hole for the cable to come through the garage wall, it looks like the primary tool used was a hammer. Yes, stucco over wire mesh is difficult to cut, but there are tools to do it neatly.
4. The boxes and circuit breakers they used were Murray, which is pretty much the chintziest that Home Depot sells. My fault, I guess, since I should have asked when I received the quote.

They did ok. The work was done on time and for the cost they quoted me. I just think they could be more conscientious in their work and more respectful of their customers.

Reliable, good prices, they do a great job. We've used them for several things on our house and on ouir two rental houses. They upgrade our electric panel, for one thing, and straightened out a mixup with our solar-panel company and the electric company.

Our go-to people for electrical work. In fact, they will be over our rental next week to check all our outlets and panels before we rent it out (safety first!)

On Monday I called for an appointment to bid work on a rental property. Karen answered the phone and we discussed the projects, both the bid elements and the repair aspect. She needed to confer with someone about it and called me back a short time later. I emailed details of the project to her at the address she provided [email protected] and confirmed the appointment at 3:00 Friday. She asked for the tenant's contact information to confirm the appointment.

The tenant took Friday afternoon off to open the property and no one ever showed up or contacted either of us by phone or email to say that they would not. Managing properties from out of the area is hard enough without unreliable vendors like Alexander Electric.

UPDTATE: After reading this review, Karen Pulos sent the following reply to the email I had sent with all the details confirming the appointment:

- ""I'm sorry that you felt you had to reach out this way. Yes we should have had better follow up. I had called your tenant prior to this for the address which was not provided in this email. She never called me back. As the week progressed the week got busier so I forgot to try again, but it was hard to confirm an appointment with no call back and with no address to go to.""

No reply. No offer to make it right. No explanation why she didn't reply to my email or call me. Just an accusation, and the tenant says that she never received the call Karen says she made.

Oh, and the property address? It was the subject line of the email to which she replied.

I had a laundry list of items that needed electrician expertise. I called their office and spoke to Karen who was extremely nice. She kept great communication with me, checked on availability and called me back as promised for an appointment today ( I called yesterday ).

I received a call this am letting me know they were on the way and they arrived at the expected time. They have company branded trucks/vans.

Brian was the electrician and was a great guy.
He took care of all my items today and even bought in a huge ladder to changed the LED bulbs I provided in my vaulted ceilings and kitchen.

Brian was very professional and had a great sense of humor.

I was able to talk to Karen on the phone in their office and make payment before he left. Very easy process. I will definitely put them on my go to list for any electrical needs. He was efficient with his time as I was concerned about paying hourly for a job rather than a price quote but the price was very reasonable considering all we got accomplished today.

I think Matt is the owner so if Matt reads this, cudos to Brian. He represented your company very well today.

We recently decided to add 2 Big Screen TVs to our General Store. This meant we needed to add two additional outlets , run coax for Comcast and install TV mounts. We called Alexander Electric and they gave us a quote. They arrived on time and did everything expected and more. The team was both friendly and professional. They were quick and cleaned up after themselves and actually left the Store cleaner than they found it.

I highly recommend them for your future Electrical needs both Commercial or Residential.

Very professional, courteous & excellent. One of our places needed to be troubleshooted. A previous electrician our tenant had said there is a problem and it will need a $500 part. I didn't believe it from what our tenant said the problem was. I called Alexander Electrician and they set up a time and trouble-shooted everything thing. They checked the plugs, the circuit breaker and light switches. Come to find out the wiring was done incorrectly and the electrician made the repair. And it didn't take long, too. Great place for your electrical need. Will keep them for future repairs.

Alexander Electric is very simply the company you want to do your electrical work.
We were just up against real estate deadlines, and Alexander Electric saved the day.
They did excellent work, gave excellent advice and feedback, at a very fair price.

I called around to some other firms and came up with zilch or crazy bids. When I called Alexander, Karen asked for a phone photos of our old circuit panel. Tim came out the next day to replace and update it and we passed inspection. They did the same thing when we had another final signoff set of issues with a different set of breakers that needed some back wiring replacements,and a new panel. Again, they dialed into our needs quickly and professionally.

As I told our real estate agent, ""When I was in the business world, I used to look for companies like Alexander Electric, which you probably know are hard to find."" I am lucky I found them . I highly recommend Alexander Electric.
